Guerlain will launch their annual limited edition version of Muguet this spring. The fragrance celebrates the May Day tradition of offering sprigs of lily of the valley to loved ones. You can see older Guerlain Muguet editions here: 2011, 2012, 2013.
The 2014 edition was developed in collaboration with ceramic artist Brigitte de Bazelaire and features a porcelain holder decorated with lily of the valley. The fragrance itself has not changed since 2006; here is last year's description:
A fresh floral fragrance: a sublimated lily of the valley note, infused with bergamot, jasmine and rose accents which ushers in the springtime with elegance.
Guerlain Muguet 2014 will be limited to 1,872 numbered bottles, in 125 ml Eau de Toilette, €400.

Ooh, I want! So, how much is that in American dollars?
It would be $550, but I would not assume that will be the US price…wait until it gets here (guessing Neiman Marcus will have it, they had last year’s).
I was just chatting with the very adorable Jonathan at the Las Vegas Boutique and he says they will be $590 usd.
Ouch.
I don’t know why elle.fr says 2006. The scent has actually existed since 1998.
It was reformulated in 2006. (and possibly other years, who knows)
At least, that was my take on what they meant. But they’ve also referred in the past few years to Thierry Wasser as the perfumer for Muguet, so that would imply it’s been redone since 2006.
Oh that’s just official Guerlain policy – to reattribute everything to the latest perfumer 😀
That’s quite true! And they rarely mention any “underlings” who worked on a scent — surely Wasser does not do *everything*.
But also true that nearly every perfume on earth has been reformulated, and since IFRA has already restricted some of the chemicals that make up muguet accords, it’s likely that even a 2006 muguet fragrance has been since reformulated.
I had a very vivid dream recently with the L’Arc de Triomphe which had the words Muguet de Bois inscribed across the center. J. P. Guerlain was there and he said he had done it for me. 😀
I’m not a muguet (lotv) fan (I know, Robin, heresy!), but I really, really want that bee bottle in the ceramic holder!
LOL!
Yes, want that holder: they should do a whole series of them in different colors & designs, and sell them for, say, $25 a pop. Any day now…
That was truly splendid of JP Guerlain to have the L’arc de Triomphe inscribed for you! 😉
I think that Boisdejasmin has the answer: there was no Muguet from 2000 until 2006…
Makes sense. Still betting it’s been redone since then.
…and in spite of recent pat on the head (everyone remain calm) announcement that they aren’t banning substances yet and there is a bit more reporting that needs to be done…..blah blah blah….my eyeballs stuck on the “yet” part — They have been pushing restrictions for 10 years now. I highly doubt they’re going to just throw their hands up in the air and say “okay, you win…but if you get a rash, don’t come crying to us!” and then leave perfumery alone and intact. I fear the next reform. they do will be a killer.
I sniffed this in Montreal’s Guerlain boutigue last year and it’s pretty, but not not 40 times prettier than a bottle of Coty.
That’s about what I thought of it whenever I smelled it. Few years back probably.
Since my birthday is in May, I covet this every year, even though no one I know is enough into perfume to know about it, and I’m really a rose person anyway.
