Les Parfums de Rosine has launched Majalis, a new soft floriental fragrance for women:
The Rosa Majalis is a rose native from Asian mountains. This simple flower develops an amazing cinnamon scent. This is why we name it the Cinnamon Rose, and it is also considered as the "Love Rose" because of its soft and slightly captivating scent. This natural and exquisite rose gave birth to a new fragrance: Majalis. Soft Oriental, Majalis offers notes of cinnamon, pink pepper and nutmeg based on a precious wood background.
Additional notes include bergamot, mandarin, grapefruit, cinnamon, rose, jasmine, black and red pepper, coriander, vetiver, sandalwood, cedarwood, amber and musk.
Les Parfums de Rosine Majalis is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Update: see a review of Les Parfums de Rosine Majalis.
I love cinnamon so perhaps this will finally be a Rosine I can add to my collection. So far I have found most Rosines to read more as simple chords than as real pieces of music.
It sounds really pretty…I don’t always love Rosines but I do love a few. Look forward to trying it.
I feel just the same way–often they feel a little too tame, but, the notes here do tempt me!
I do like cinnamon notes….so this sounds appealing to me. Although, in general, Rosines seem to be nice, mild tempered scents that don’t make a lot of demands and don’t start any fights.
To me Andy Tauer Une Rose Chypree is a rose-cinnamon scent and it’s hard to imagine a Rosine that would oust URC from it’s spot in my perfume line up.
This does sound wonderful – I’ll be looking for a chance to try it.
Me too!
I’ve just realized that I haven’t consciously picked up cinnamon notes in scents, decidedly I have some homework to do: which ones would be the cinnamon classics? Nevertheless, I want to try this one too, I’m probably biased, because I’ve been wearing une Folie de rose for two days now
Serge Lutens Rousse is the first thing that comes to mind, also Givenchy Organza Indecence. Fendi Theorema, although that’s discontinued.
thanks! These were somehow off my radar
Perhaps Cinnabar by Estee Lauder:).
Egoiste, Spicebomb, HDP 1899 have a good amounts of cinnamon in them as well. Not all classics, except for maybe Egoiste. They are masculine leaning scents though. But good cinnamon references, along with that Cinnabar, which, of course is more feminine. Though, I see Ego and Cinnabar to be very similar.
Was just rifling through my husband’ s top drawer this morning looking for his bottle of MPG Racine (which I “borrow” quite a lot) and wound up liberally applying Egoiste instead. The bottle must be over 10 years old, but it still smells great. I have always resented the name, but can’t deny that it is a terrific fragrance.
thanks to you all, when I have the opportunity I’ll try them (I’m especially curious about egoiste)
Andy Tauer Une Rose Chypée. ….oh and CSP L’eau du Gouverneur.
oh wait….that’s nutmeg… my bad.
But it’s fab if you like nutmeg…..
There are quite a few Andy Tauer scents that feature cinnamon… as mentioned, Une Rose Chypree, and also Pentachord Auburn… Pentachord Auburn was all cinnamon on me, to the point that I felt a bit like a red hot.
His upcoming rose scent, Phi, will also feature a cinnamon note… that starts shipping in a week or two I think..
I do like cinnamon as well. But ‘soft’ makes me think there is a lot of musk in this, I don’t like too musky. I remember liking Zeste from this line:).
I have Zeste as well. That was my gateway Rosine….bright, happy….zesty….my daughter loves this one.
Rose plus spices sounds good to me.
As long as it is not a cinnamon Red Hots accord i have found in several fragrances. That would be horrible.
I guess it will not smell like Tauer’s Maroc pour Elle. Too bad!
