Two jaunty little ads for Diptyque's new Un Air de Diptyque electric diffuser. First, New York, then below the jump, Paris.
In case you're wondering, Un Air de Diptyque is $350; the scented capsules it uses to perfume the air are sold separately, and are $38 each (I'm sorry, I have no idea how long they last).
For anyone in So Cal (or headed here) the Dyptique Boutique at South Coast Plaza is now open. South Coast Plaza is about 20 mins. from Disneyland in light traffic…can take twice as long in heavy traffic. Fly into John Wayne Airport, not LAX if you are coming to Orange County.
Nice…I’d like to see (smell!) one of these in action.
350$ is probably the most expensive perfume I have seen in a long while.
It’s a scent diffuser, to fragrance your home…not a perfume!
The prettiest boutique in the City is Diptyque’s in Leadenhall Market which is just around the corner to my office (got to have some light relief). I dropped in there yesterday as the whole area around the shop smelled of their Tubereuse candle – gorgeous. The SA there is lovely and she showed me the festive candles which they are soon releasing (based on Diwali, I think they’ve surpassed themselves this year) and this room fragrance diffuser. It is the perfect marriage of design and technology to me. An attractive piece in its own right but things like the porcelain case is smoother on the inside so it doesn’t absorb the fragrance yet the outside is rougher, more porous. The refills are pretty with their abacus style beads of scent. If I had ÂŁ240 lying around I’d buy one in an instant and have Feu de Bois and 34 refills though Figuier is gorgeous too. Not as cosy or romantic as a candle to be sure but an effective room fragrancer and great if young children or pets are around……(again, subject to that price tag – ouch).
This year’s candles are gorgeous!
Glad to hear the diffuser is “worthy” in person.
Way too expensive
Just looked up the price of the Frederic Malle diffuser thingie…it is $280. I do like Diptyque’s better. Wouldn’t buy either 🙂
