Lostmarc’h No. 1, No. 2 & No. 3 ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 8 October 2013 9 Comments

Lostmarc'h No. 1, No. 2 & No. 3

Later this month, niche brand Lostmarc’h will launch three new fragrances: No. 1 Jasmin du Tamil Nadu & Mimosa du Khémisset; No. 2 Vanille Verte de Sava & Osmanthus de Sichuan and No. 3 Bushman's Candle du Nababeep & Encens d'Arabie Heureuse.

No. 1 Jasmin du Tamil Nadu & Mimosa du Khémisset ~ A powdery floral. "...we have specifically selected Jasmine from the Tamil Nadu region of Southern India, which flowers from April to October and is used on a daily basis locally for fragranced necklaces and garlands. The quality of the Tamil Nadu land, along with the expertise of the growers, ensures that we obtain a harmonious jasmine.[...] From the 400 varieties available, we have selected the mimosa from Khemisset, a region located in North-eastern Morocco. This land guarantees a wonderfully powdery, honeyed mimosa." Additional notes include bergamot, cèdrat, rhubarb, vanilla, woody amber, milky notes, sandalwood, cedar and white musk.

No. 2 Vanille Verte de Sava & Osmanthus de Sichuan ~ A floriental. "The green vanilla that we have selected comes from Sava, a region located in North-eastern Madagascar. [...] The osmanthus we have selected comes from the Sichuan region, located in Central Western China, where it has been grown for centuries." Additional notes include bergamot, cédrat, aquatic note, elémi, coumarin, patchouli, wheat bran, heliotrope, white musk and precious woods.

No. 3 Bushman's Candle du Nababeep & Encens d'Arabie Heureuse ~ A woody fragrance. "The Bushman candle is a small, rare plant that the tribe of the same name used as a candle at nighttime, both as protection from animals and on account of its intoxicating aroma. It produces magnificent, yet rare, cream coloured flowers...Frankincense, also known as olibanum, is an aromatic oleo-gum-resin obtained from the Boswellia tree...The production that we have selected is of a rare quality, due to the maturity of the trees and extraction methods that respect the rules of this delicate art." Additional notes include bigarade, bergamote, jasmine, cashmeran, amyris, Virginia cedar, gaïac wood, labdanum, patchouli and white musk.

Lostmarc'h No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 will be 170€ for 125 ml Eau de Parfum + 15 ml travel spray. Refills will be 140€ for 125 ml.

I don’t think the names are long enough–maybe they should include the specific farm or plantation in the region as well. Hope they make it here so I can try them

Ya, I know, white musk in all three, hmm:p. I do like the green glass also but will probably forget about these as there are so many releases.

The names may be long, but it is nice that they are trying to describe what is in the bottle, as opposed to some B.S. marketing trying to sell me a lifestyle or telling me how I’m supposed to feel or that my life will be magically transformed, etc. :-)
