J Del Pozo Halloween Fleur ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 27 August 2013 11 Comments

J Del Pozo Halloween Fleur

Spanish fashion house J Del Pozo will launch Halloween Fleur, a new floriental fragrance for women, in September. Halloween Fleur is a flanker to 1997′s Halloween.

In every language, in every culture a flower expresses youth, the dawning of life, beauty and delicacy. Poets, painters and artists have always connected the beginning of life with the moment of blossoming. Flowers evoke an awakening, a blossoming, colour and delicacy.

Halloween Fleur was developed by perfumers Carlos Benaïm, Nicolas Beaulieu and Olivier Polge. The notes feature mandarin, violet leaves, pear, ginger orchid, jasmine, lilac, cashmeran, amber, vanilla and musk.

J Del Pozo Halloween Fleur will be available in 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

I think if they replaced that purple rose with something else..it would be a pretty nice presentation as far as the bottle goes. It’s like the purple bow throws everything off for me. Flowers etched on the bottle would be cool, not purple though. Maybe a light purple, idk. It’s like it’s all sophisticated, then they throw a girly bow on it. Doesn’t work for me. The notes..not sure if they would fly with me…but I will sniff anything with lilac. Lilac+pear though? Not sure about that.

An etched bottle would be lovely. Can’t remember if they’ve done one for Halloween before.

Or etched with those gold leaves on the box would be purdy.

Is this supposed to make me think Halloweeny thoughts? Pear is appropriately autumnal, I suppose, but the other notes (and the pretty bottle) don’t seem to be trying to give that sense.

Bear in mind that when the original Halloween scent launched in Spain, the holiday wasn’t really celebrated there…might be that the name therefore has very different connotations than it does here. Regardless, the Halloween franchise appears to be going strong, so it must mean something other than children + candy in other parts of the world.

None of the Halloween scents are very Halloweeny at all. It’s a shame, because I’d love to wear a real Halloween fragrance!

I think the bottle (and most of the Halloween bottles) is adorable.

J Del Pozo’s In Black is kind of Halloween-y.

J del Pozo always smells like a me-too. One – the black one I think – reminded me of Pure Poison. the white one was also a copycat.

We do not celebrate Halloween really – well I have American friends with kids so I do. Otherwise, maybe watch a scary movie and have some red wine.

Halloween (perfume) consistently makes me laugh – because for the life of me I can’t think of any other interpretation of the word, other than the usual candy/pumpkins/trick or treats etc. Even harvests, or your more occult or religious links just don’t sit with what Halloween the perfume always was – a pretty floral. I wish there was a definitive explanation out there!

Reaching, I suppose it could just be that someone really, really liked the way the word sounded. A bit like if you look hard enough at some of the nonsensical blurbs on Japanese Sanrio or similar products (or at least was the case when I was a kid in the early 80s), half the time you’d think someone was picking words simply because they sounded neat to a foreign ear, not at all because they meant anything strung together!

      Yes, precisely!
