Demeter has launched the Elvira Mistress of the Dark Collection, a new trio of fragrances — Elvira's Zombie, Elvira's Vamp and Elvira's Black Roses — for horror hostess Elvira:
And now Elvira is the inspiration for a collection of supernatural, spooky, spectacular scents that are unlike anything you have smelled from Demeter Fragrance Library before. Or from anyone else, for that matter. These Dark Florals are beautiful, but radical and truly unique in their approach to scent.
Elvira's Zombie ~ "Elvira's Zombie is stunningly beautiful; so beautiful and compelling that the olfactory experience risks putting those who smell it into a trance. The sexy center of this fragrance revolves around Ylang Ylang and Red Poppies, grounded with Tobacco Leaves and Black Vanilla Bean, while taking flights of fancy with a frosty Methadone accord and powdery Coca Petals. Very unusual and sexy stuff, indeed."
Elvira's Vamp ~ "Poisonous Belladonna, Dracula Orchid and the Nicotiana plant form the deep, dark heart of this fragrance, rounded with peppery Maile Leaves and Ivy, smoothed and coordinated by a sheer veil of Madagascar Vanilla, White Musk and Mandarin Peel. Dangerous and irresistible."
Elvira's Black Roses ~ "Rose Water Tea, Thorny Stem Bulgarian Rose Petals and Davana Blossom are topped with Red Currants and anchored by an earthy Patchouli, Dark Amber and Haitian Vetiver: a deep, dark swirl unlike anything else you have experienced in a Rose-inspired scent."
Demeter Elvira's Zombie, Elvira's Vamp and Elvira's Black Roses are available in 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($25 – $39.50)
Also new is Iced Berries, the latest addition to the Demeter Fragrance Library.
Demeter’s Iced Berries is a fascinating crisp and cool blend of Raspberries, Blueberries, and Blackberries with a touch of spice.
This one really must be smelled to fully appreciate it. An approach only Demeter would consider attempting.
Demeter Iced Berries is available in 15, 30 or 120 ml Cologne ($6 – $39.50) and in matching bath & body products.

Demeter makes me laugh – I love how they’re all Elvira, dark, zombies, supernatural and then they’re all, “also new iced berries!”
LOL — so true, although really that’s probably my fault, not theirs…they may have launched these on different days, I just happened to find them all today.
Methadone?? Yikes. Wonder what that smells like.
I think it’s an attempt to wean me off my bottle of Opium!
Perfect 🙂
🙂
Elvira? Is it the 80’s? LOL.
Methadone accord, huh? Wow. Maybe not good for rehab patients.
She is still going strong!
LOOOOOVING the Elvira fragrances and can’t wait to try them. Tired of the glam, preppy, romantixc side of fragrance, it’s time to go MACABRE!
Isn’t there a niche line called Black Alchemy dedicated solely to the goth girls and boys who want smell noir?
Hmmmm thanks Dilana, got to check that line out!
Are you thinking of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab? If that’s it, then Peter, here is their site: http://blackphoenixalchemylab.com/welcome.html.
They do have some interesting-looking ones, however I’ve never tried any from this line… I think I’m a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of them, haha.
I don’t expect a lot from Demeter, but these could be fun. I *do* like the scent of Nicotiana, and I don’t think I’ve ever sniffed it in a ‘fume.
Finally, something I KNOW my husband will buy for me!
I think Zombie and the rose sound pretty good, and am indeed curious about the scent of Methadone, tho’ I doubt it’s ability to wean me off my Opium! :P.
Hmm, none of these actually sound dark, but I do love Elvira as a performer and an independent businesswoman, so I kind of feel I should buy them. Also, if I ever need some work done, I want to go to her plastic surgeon, whoever s/he is, because she does appear to have made a pact with Satan for eternal youth.
I think the Oak Ridge Boys wear the “ELVIRA” Cologne.
