Le Labo has launched Cuir 28, the new city-exclusive fragrance for Dubai. The scent is being introduced just as Le Labo once again makes all of their city-exclusive fragrances widely available for a limited time (samples go on sale now, larger bottles on September 1st for a 6 week period).
Cuir 28 is Easy Rider without the sweat and gasoline. Blending leather, wood and animalic notes gives it a very powerful, dark and memorable personality. Natural vanilla absolute, the spicy animalic tar version of the vanilla we know, mixes in with the leather to give Cuir 28 its oriental and addictive finale.
Additional notes include wood, vetiver and musks.
Le Labo Cuir 28 is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum. Samples of all the city exclusives are available now at Luckyscent (1.5 ml for $12).

Update: Le Labo Cuir 28 was developed by perfumer Nathalie Lorson.
Hmm, it doesn’t sound bad, but I wouldn’t mind a bit of sweat and gasoline.
HA — exactly what I thought!
Poivre is divine. I will own a big bottle of that.
I do like several of the city exclusives. Wish I had a bottle of Tubereuse.
Robin, could you do a post specifically on the longest lasting scents? Perfumes always tend to fade on me really quickly, like within the hour, and I want my next perfume to last all day. (And I usually tend to agree with your opinion based on reviews I’ve read!) Thanks!
It’s a difficult subject, not only because everyone has different skin, but also because so many people have trouble smelling the musk aromachemicals that tend to last longest on skin, so they think their fragrance is gone when it’s not.
But I would test heavier things, especially older orientals, Thierry Mugler Angel & etc, and try using a thick but unscented lotion. And read this, including the comments — lots of good info:

NO!!!!!!
I wasn’t planning on spending almost a 1.000 on two bottles of city exclusives, Limette 37 I must possess, Cuir sounds right up my alley.
I’ve stopped hating the city exclusive thing, it’s nice to wear Gaiac 10 to work everyday, it suits me in a suit perfectly, sticks around all day, yet it diffuses very discreetly, and I have never smelled this on anyone else., I’m on my fourth refill, I can’t get enough.
Then came Vanille 44, the only Vanilla that blows my mind enough to pay the ridiculous price, it really is pure comfort and happiness in a bottle.
Limette 37, and Cuir 28……I love to hate Le Labo, specially since it’s my favorite perfume house.
This copy actually makes me angry:
“Natural vanilla absolute, the spicy animalic tar version of the vanilla we know, mixes in with the leather”
That’s garbage. Le Labo you are making a sweet leather and you know it, don’t tell me your vanilla is animalic tar. It’s vanilla, it’s a sweetening accord and it’s there to keep Cuir 28 from *being* Easy Rider. Don’t pretend your cuir lite is tough stuff.
Patchouli 24 was tar and vanilla
Yes but their press copy implies that their *vanilla absolute* is animalic and tarry, not that the composition has tar and vanilla. And I’m saying that the vanilla absolute isn’t in there to make the leather more edgy as they imply, rather it’s the opposite.
Patchouli 24 was too sweet for me.
Hi Robin. Any idea where is this available in Dubai? The last time I checked, Le Labo closed it’s shop in UAE.
Interesting — their website does not list any presence in Dubai. I’m afraid I have no idea.
i believe it’s being sold at Paris Gallery.
This sounds like it could be great!
I just tried some of the Cuir 28 and it’s amazing! I love this one. I don’t get much leather, but there is beautiful incense, frankincense I think. There is also a lot of vetiver which than catches fire and it smolders becoming deep and smokey. There is also a pungent note that smells just like dirty valerian root. The vanilla peeks in here and there, it’s not too sweet – but the incense – love it! I just put a couple of small dabs on, that’s all I need to be enveloped by it, and it lasts forever. When I smell this fragrance it makes my lungs open up and a refreshing coolness fills my entire body – extraordinary….. I know I can’t afford this fragrance, so I’ll have to suffice with samples or small decants.
