What is it: 5 winners will get a sample box. Each box will have a nice mix of 20+ fragrance samples, including scents from niche line LesNez (courtesy of a very kind reader) and Xerjoff, plus samples of the Aedes de Venustas Signature scent, plus a bunch of random things — each box will be slightly different.
How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website. Then tell me either a) the last sample that convinced you that you needed the full-sized bottle or b) the sample you've been dying to get your hands on.
I will send these anywhere in the world, but will not be responsible for any customs-related mishaps.
Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! All replies to comments will be deleted!
The contest will be open until noon or so on Sunday, and I'll announce the winner on Monday.
The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.
Last sample that convinced me I need a full bottle: Amouage Interlude Man or Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway, Robin!
The sample I have always wanted to try is Frederic malle’s Carnal Flower.
Would love to get this!
I’ve been long-debating dropping a few dollars on a sample of Delicious Closet Queen by Etat Libre d’Orange, but I hate the idea of paying more on shipping than on the actual product. 😀
Last samples that convinced me I need a full bottle: Anima Dulcis and Beige (both TOTAL shockers that I would not have picked in-store)
What I’m dying to score samples of: the new Hermes, Paper Passion, the Monegals other than Umbra, reference gardenias to help my friends pick new fragrances.
I would like to get my hands on a sample of the new Hermes or the Arquiste Boutonniere.
The last sample that led to a full bottle was Douce Amere
the last sample that convinced me I need a full bottle was Cuir Otomane
I would like to try the Monegals, but they’re out of my reach, for now
thank you for a wonderful giveaway
Terres d’Hermes ,I would like to try
The last sample that convinced me that I needed a full bottle was Volutes EDP by Diptyque. It was a hard decision because I also like the EDT very much, so a bought a decant of the EDT so I could have both 🙂
Thanks so much for the generous draw, and happy holidays!
I’m in! And if I win I have a Miami address you can ship them to! 😉
Last thing I purchased because I had sampled it–Honeysuckle Bird. What I want to sample–Cuirelle and Mito
My last gottagetitgottagetit was a sample of Guerlain Spiriteuse Double Vanille. Got it. Funnily enough, did not have the same experience with the new black liquid GaGa Fame. 🙂
Xerjoff’s Irisss sounds like somethng i’d like to try, but i don’t think their available here… also, i’m afraid i might fall in love with it lol
i have yet to get something nice enough as a sample to make me want to get a full size of anything :/
The last sample that made me buy a full bottle was L’artisan Passage d’enfer. Early holiday present for me!
Last sample that convinced me to buy: Vero Profumo Rubj. Would love to sample perfumes. Thank you.
Wow, what a giveaway! The last sample I’d love to have the full bottle of is Amouage’s Ubar (but no way I’ll buy the full bottle of it in the near future, maybe a decant), and I’m dying to try Homage attar). Till now I tried only two Amouages, Ubar and Jubilation 25, which was great too.
Thank you very much, and of course you have permission to use my mail address.
Last sample that convinced me I need a bottle was Memo Parfums Shams. Thank you
Thanks for this chance to win a sample pack! Tha last sample I got that convinced me I had to have a full bottle was Mecca Balsam. Gorgeous (the full bottle hasn’t happened yet)… The sample I currently want is Morgane Le Fay ‘Blue,’ for no other reason than it seems really, really hard to get one (Luckyscent doesn’t seem to offer samples of it, for some funny reason). Ah, the allure of the unattainable. Have a great day, all!
I would love to sample Lutens’ Bois et Musc and Mona di Orio Musc!
I’ve been hoping to sample Le Parfum de Therese and Coromandel again. It’s been several years since I smelled them. Happy holidays!
The last sample that convinced me I must own a full bottle was By Kilian Beyond Love. Sadly, I wasn’t able to convince my bank account of the same. 😉
The last full bottle I bought was Isabey’s Fleur Nocturne. Even though it’s winter, I just felt I needed a new bottle of something flowery, and the peachy gardenia & jasmine in this works well on me. The samples I’d like to explore next are: Korrigan, Poudre de Riz, Lightscape, Afternoon of a Faun and Tzora. A little variety!
Thank you, Robin, for the drawing!
As this is my first comment on NST, I would like to say thank you all around. The insightful posts and the many amiable comments have fueled my perfume obsession as well as my good mood many times 🙂
The last sample that lead to me buying a full bottle was Tubereuse 3 from Histoire de Parfums. I thought, I didn’t like tuberose, but this scent wooed me at once. In my perception it is sugary and raspy and warm and simply marvellous.
At the moment I am dying to sample Lenn-Ael by Lostmar’ch and I am constantly putting a spray sample of Bois des Iles in my cart at The Perfumed Court and changing my mind again. When I had a sample that could only be dabbed, it left no impression whatsoever on me. So I am still curious how that famed fume might smell!
The last sample that made me wish for a full bottle is Incense Extreme by Andy Tauer!
Chanel Jersey was the last sample that convinced me to purchase a full size bottle. Thank you!
Thanks for the drawing! Last sample to convince me to buy a bottle is JM Blackberry & Bay, though I haven’t bought it just yet. I’m waiting to see if Santa might first!
I think Blackberry and Bay may be the sample that most convinced me I’d need a bottle; wouldn’t have thought it’d be my thing but keep reaching for it…
Thanks, Robin, for the giveaway!
We are really being spoiled with all the giveaways at the moment. Thank you!
Anyway, the last few purchases were made on the back of testers rather than samples but the samples I’d love to get my hands on would be SL La Myrrhe and TDC De Bachmakov. Oh and Jour d’Hermès.
Great, fantastic giveaway. The last sample that convinced me that I needed the full-sized bottle was L’Air du Desert Marocain by Andy Tauer and the samples I’ve been dying to get in my hands are Sevile a L’Aube, Guerlain Sous le Vent and Patou pour Homme.
Hi! I’m a lemming it seems. My sample of blackberry and bay is convincing me I may need a bottle! Or my other sample fave these days… jovoy’s l’arbre de la connaisance.
It was not fancy (or expensive) but the last sample that convinced me to buy a full bottle was Lolita Lempika.
Well, the last sample that did it for me was Seville a l’Aube and now I am a proud owner of that bottle. 🙂
OH MY! What a great draw- thanks to everyone at NST and to those who donated to the box!
1) The most recent thing I sampled that induced a full bottle purchase was the new Diptyque Volutes EDT. I am anxiously waiting its arrival as I blew through my sample in just a couple of days-thats how much I love it!
2) I would dearly love to get my hands on a sample of the new Parfum d’Empire Musc Tonkin extrait- I am sooo tempted to buy it unsniffed!
The last sample that I am determined to get an fb of is annick goutal Ambre Fetiche. It’s just lovely. I am dying to try Memo Shams, but Memo is impossible to find. I love Memo Manoa. Thanks for the sample draw Robin.
I have been captivated by Afternoon of a Faun by Etat Libre d’Orange. A sample I’ve been dying to have is Xerjoff Irisss.
The last samples that convinced me I needed full bottles were Caron Tubereuse and Or et Noir (new for me).
I really want to sample Seville a l’Aube and Orangers en Fleurs.
Great giveaway. Thanks!
What a lovely giveaway! The last sample that convinced me to buy a full bottle is the Slumberhouse Jeke I’m wearing today, in fact. It’s delicious. I’m hoping there will be a holiday sale over there, though.
The last sample that convinced me I needed a full bottle was Bond No 9 Success Is A Job In New York (haven’t gotten the bottle yet though).
I really want to sample more of the newer Amouage releases as well as any Xerjoff (never sampled any of these).
As always, thanks for all the excellent articles and giveaways!
Last full bottles I bought (after using up samples) were Jicky and Fendi Theorema.
I just tried Golden Cattleya from Olympic Orchids and I think I’m in love. Narcotic florals, heavy with pollen – and a reasonable price! I think a full bottle may be in my future. Actually, it reminds me quite a bit of BPAL’s Jezebel, but Jezebel is rosier and probably even sweeter. Thanks for entering me!
The latest sample that convinced me to get a full bottle of the juice was Cuir de Russie by Chanel. I was not sure about my feelings to this scent until I tried it at home – not in the store. It develops into the most tender leather gloves smell of smoky iris. Just wow! Bought the fb the next day!
The last sample that convinced me I needed a full bottle is Chanel #5 Eau Premiere. Thanks for the draw Robin.
Oooh, I’d love to win this! The last sample that convinced me I wanted a full bottle was a small decant of vintage Djedi by Guerlain – but seeing that the sample cost me more than many full bottles I own, and that if I could even still find a full bottle of it anywhere in the world, it would cost me more than my month’s rent… I realized that wasn’t going to happen 🙂
The last full bottle I bought based on a sample was DSH Vintage Patchouli. I would love to get my hands on a sample of Guerlain Iris Ganache. Thanks for this exciting draw!
A sample of Guerlain Mitsouku got me to purchase the full size! Thanks for the giveaway =)
Just got a sample of Diorissimo, and now I know I need to buy this again, even though it doesn’t seem to have quite the intensity of the Diorissimo I had in the early 80’s…Love this site – just registered, this is my first post…
I work in a healthcare setting so strong ( or really any ) fragrances are not actually allowed. I of course always find ways around that, so when I smelled my sample of Byredo Blanche I had to have it! So pretty but not really “perfumey”. I’m really hoping my husband got all my hints and buys it for Christmas!
I didn’t like the sample of ‘love, chloe’ at all, I thought it was odd, I guess I wasn’t used to powdery sents back then, but after a couple of days I found myself purchasing a bottle…
The last sample that convinced me I needed a full bottle was Amouage Beloved. So I saved (for 4 months) and bought it!:-)
I would like to try is Hermes Jour D’Hermes and Tom Ford Jonquille de Nuit
The last sample I tried that convinced me that I needed the full-sized bottle was Bond No. 9 Chinatown. I don’t actually have the bottle yet, but it is at the top of the list for my next fragrance splurge. Thanks for the giveaway!
Last sample that led me to buying the juice was Frederic Malle Vétiver Extraordinaire. Anyway, that was already some time ago and I am searching for new sample to try.
The last sample that convinced me of getting a full bottle is Amouage Gold. Next time I travel abroad, I know what I’ll get for myself! 🙂
I’d love to get a sample of Guerlain Tonka Impériale. Pretty sure I’m gonna like it.
I have been really wanting a sample of Woman by Ormonde Jayne, L’Artisan Dzing, and Donna Karan Black Cashmere.
I did just smell a sample of Diptyque’s Eau Duelle and I think I must have this fragrance! 🙂
What a lovely draw, I would love to win. The last sample that convinced me I just had to have a full bottle was Osmanthe Yunnan by Hermes. A sample I would love to get my hands on would be the new Hermes Jour d’Hermes
I am currently fascinated by spices. Lubin’s Idole haunted me for a long time before I finally bought the bottle. And what a bottle! I saw there are 3 new ones from Lubin now available.
I had a sample of Anima Dulcis and ended up buying a larger decant. I don’t want to wear it all the time, but sometimes it’s the perfect thing in cool weather!
I also recently bought a Heeley Ofelia decant for a coworker friend for her birthday, the theory being that by the time our bonuses get issued in early February she’ll have confidently decided whether or not she wants a full bottle.
Thanks for hosting this giveaway!
The last sample that convinced me I needed a full bottle was Carnal Flower. I hope to get one for Christmas.
I would likee to try Carillon pour un Ange, but what I would love love love to try is L’Artisan Jacinthe de Bois, which is discontinued but sounds lovely. Although what is the point in falling in love if it’s not available?…
The last sample that became a full bottle was 1000 Flowers Fleur No. 1. Fortunately the bottle comes in a 15ml size, and was on sale. 🙂
The sample I have been longing to try is Xerjoff Irisss – I have read so many interesting things about that scent and would love to try it.
Thank you for a wonderful giveaway!
Wonderful giveaway! The last sample that convinced me to buy a full bottle was Bottega Veneta.
Thank you for this generous giveaway! The last sample that persuaded me to buy a full bottle was Sonoma Scent Studio’s Jour Ensoleille.
I’d love to try Mona di Orio’s Ambre.
I just tried my sample of Volutes EDT last night, and am now determined to try the EDP and make a decision on which to buy. I’ve been longing to try Theorema for years now…
The last sample I tried that I bought the full bottle of was Shalimar (based on your review, actually). Also based on your review I’d love to try vintage Apres L’Ondee. Looking at the price of a bottle on Ebay though, it’s probably something I’ll never own.
I really want to sample Chanel’s Cuir de Russie, just because I’ve heard so much about it. I also want to try the new Hermes, because I like most Hermes fragrances that I’ve smelled.
Good afternoon! I am reletively new to the website, but I am finding other’s reviews some of the most helpful of the sites that I am a member of. I have been DYING to get my hand on ANY sample of the premium accords and/or regular accords of CB I Hate Perfume absolutes, and I am actually taking a trip to Sarasota Florida (I live in Naples) to check out a retailer of the water perfumes to get an idea of what I may like, and order some decants through the perfumed court.
Thanks for the draw. 🙂 I know Encre Noire is old hat, but a sample sniff led to a full bottle buy with such indecent haste, my head & wallet were both left spinning. 🙂
Last sample that convinced me for a full bottle wasFrederic Malle:
eau d’ hiver
I would love to try the new Jean-Claude Elena :jour d’ Hermes
Thank you for the generous draw
I am always excited with samples.I’d rather have a collection of samples than a full bottle of my most beloved perfume( keep on looking for this)
Dzing!’s sample convinced me that I need to have it and I got it yesterday, a beautiful 100ml bottle, bliss! And I so desperatly want to sample Blask and Skarb from Humiecki and Graef.
Thanks soooo much for the gorgeous giveaway guys!
The latest sample that left me really craving a full bottle was l’Air du Desert Marocain, and I would also love to try the rest of the scents in the Tauer line.
Thank you for a great giveaway!
Thanks for the giveaway! 🙂
I actually got a cheap thrill discovery when I found out that both Dyptique Volutes and Diane edp by DVF were more than reasonably priced after receiving samples. Dian reminds me a lot of Matori and since I can never have enough Natori-alikes, I found a tester for a song. I’m waiting to try both versions of Volutes before I decide what will go on my “must buy” list.
What a great giveaway! Thank you!
Well, since I’m new to the perfumista world, I have been sniffing samples galore and loving every minute of it! That being said, Tocca Stella actually struck me as an extremely wearable, lovely fragrance and I want a bottle of it! And a bottle of Hermes Jardin Sur le Nil. 🙂
Samples of Avignon and Kyoto have me wishing for full bottles. I love incensey fragrances. Thanks very much for the giveaway opportunity!
I’ve been dying to put my hands on .Vero.Profumo perfume line and my lemming came true because I met a person who wanted to swap their Vero.Profumo samples. She found something interesting in my offerings and we swapped. Yaay!
Thanks for a generous draw
The last sample that led to a full bottle was Bois d’Ascece. Thanks for this really cool draw. You can use my address to contact me.
The sample I’m dying to try is Iris Silver Mist. Now that Barney’s has the non-export line, maybe I’ll finally get my chance!
Thanks for the generous draw!
Thank you for the draw! I love getting samples, I really hope I win! 🙂
The last sample I really loved was Iris Ukiyoe. I wrote an email to Hermes asking if they could send me a sample of Osmanthe Yunnan and they very generously sent me not only what I asked for, but 4ml samples of all the rest of the Hermessences as well.
As it turns out, Iris Ukiyoe was my favorite and I really want a bottle, but it’s so expensive that I’ve been waiting for a special occasion to indulge. Maybe Christmas… 😀
I have been wanting to sample the DS & Durga mens line for a long time now. I forget which website started carrying them, but im going to find them eventually.
Last sample that convinced me I need a full bottle: Guerlain’s Encens Mythique d’Orient. I think. I’ve done a lot of testing lately, and struck out a ton. But I think this may be a love.
Thank you for the draw!
I’m very new to the perfume world, but I’ve been collecting tons of samples to find out what I like. So far nothing has convinced me to buy a whole bottle! (I’ve only been at this for a month or two… we’ll see how much longer I hold out.) I’ve found a lot that I like, just none that I love.
The sample I’d most love to get my hands on is Rubj by Vero Profumo. Also Kenzo Jungle.
Last sample I tried that made me buy a full bottle was Parfum d’Empire Cuir Ottoman. I would really like to try a sample of some of Amouage’s attars.
I had a tiny bottle of vintage Je Reviens that convinced me to chase for a bottle, of course the vintage one since the current version is far away from the original.
Sadly, it’s been a long time since a sample inspired me to want a FB. It’s been at least a year since I got my Tauer sample pack, from which I want full bottles of both Lonestar Memories and L’Air du Desert Morocain – and being unable to decide, have bought neither! I need to rectify that. Maybe for Christmas (if only I could decided . . .).
What a brilliant idea for a draw ! Today I tried a samples from SSS – Winter Woods which I was keen to try because has been talked about so much here – but sadly it did not seem to work on me. But , nothing nicer than trying something new !
What a lovely giveaway, it’s like Christmas coming early! I got a Ineke sample set for my birthday and am on almost succumbing to a full bottle of Evening Edged In Gold. It’s absolutely lovely, closely related to Chaos (at least on my skin) but softer. I am not too impressed by the longevity though.
My incoming bottle of Floris Mahon Leather also started its “career” as a part of a sample pack I got my DH last autumn.
The last sample I sniffed after which I procured a full bottle was SL Un Bois Vanille. Before that, it was Le Labo Ambrette 9.
I put my post in my knitting bag on my way out of the house and thus inadvertently scented my brother’s socks-in-progress with a paper sample of Divine’s L’Homme Infini. The company very kindly sent me a free “proper” sample on request (they seem very charming and helpful generally), and now I need all my socks to smell gentlemanly. That’s reasonable, yes?
I have a long list of scents that I’m dying to try, mostly because I’m staving off a sample buy until after Christmas. Top of the list is Mito and Loretta.
I got a sample of Truth or Dare and now it’s a FB ! I have fallen hard into the tuberose garden. Thanks for the great giveaway
The samples I would most like to get hold of are the Four Corners range new from Ormonde Jayne, and The last one that persuaded me to buy a full bottle was Ambre Nargile.
Thank you for the draw! I’ve been in a sampling frenzy lately, so the more the merrier!
Recent samples that made me want a bottle now that the samples have run out are Cuir Venenum and Volutes EDP.
Samples I’m wanting that I haven’t already ordered….umm…. a lot.
I’ve been really wanting to try some from Ormonde Jayne (I should be getting a sample of OJ Woman in the mail soon from a swap), and I’ve also been wanting to try several from Sonoma Scent Studio and DSH.
The last sample that made me feel, I couldn’t be without that scent was Andy Tauer’s Zeta.
Though I tested Chergui several times in the shop – it was the FOUR samples they gave me that has convinced me I absolutely MUST have a bottle. Also, very recently a perfumista angel sent me a sample of Azemour Les Oranges and I now Need that (though I may have to wait some months).
The sample I would MOST like to try ( only one???) probably Iris Silver Mist!
I am convinced I need a bottle or travel set of parfum de terese after draining several samples! Thanks for the draw!
Thanks for having the drawing! The last thing that convinced me I needed a full bottle was Back to Black, but am waiting until after the holidays to indulge. Also, La Vie est Belle, but am waiting for a good GWP. Would love to sample the new Oscar de la Renta essential luxuries collection.
It is rare for me to buy a full bottle of anything these days, but I do love decants and samples. The last full bottle I bought was BK Sweet Redemption Travel set. Love those atomizers! And I had sampled it first.
Hello, I love samples and I love giveaways.
The last 3 samples that convinced me were YSL Nu, Cuir de Lancome and Santal Majuscule. Didn’t get FBs, but generous decants ;).
I’m dying to get my hands on a sample of Mitsouko, called as the master chypre and so, a “must try” to me.
Last night I decided I need a full bottle of French Lover, after wearing my third sample in bed. I really want to smell like that at work as well. Thanks for the contest!
Byredo’s Pulp was a maybe upon first application but the spectacularly elegant drydown has me aching for a bottle or sizable decant.
Thanks for this draw! The last sample that convinced me was ELD’O Bijou Romantique.
I nearly hate myself for admitting it, but trying Secretions Magnifique convinced me I needed a bottle.
I just fell in love with Chanel Cuir de Russie after trying it again on a cool autumn day. It’s the perfect scent to leave clinging to a jacket (preferably mingled with chilly air and some faint woodsmoke…)
My last sample that convinced me to buy a full bottle was Diptypque Eau Lierre.
Serge Lutens Chergui! I finished off my sample quickly and bought a bottle right away!
The last sample that convinced me that I needed a full bottle was Caron Parfum Sacre.
I’ve used up the last bit of my Parfumerie Generale Djhenne sample and am leaving not so subtle hints for Santa!
The samples that I’ll order next are the Neela Vermeire line and SG Une Voix Noire. Thanks for the draw!
Portrait of a Lady was the last sample that convinced me to buy a full size but I’m still debating the full size creme or spray they are slightly different very expensive and I love them both….
Tauer Une Rose Chypree convinced me that I need a full bottle, me, the one who has mostly decants of everything. It’s that good, imo. And I’d love to get my hands on Olympic Orchids & more SSS samples. Thanks for the draw, R!
I’m dying to get my paws on all of the Frederic Malle scents, Carnal Flower, Lipstick Rose, Lys, Portrait, all of them! I could order them from Paris, super expensive, or order them from the US – super expensive and very little in a vial. I’m hoping for some miracle 🙂
I just sampled Tauer Miriam and would love a bottle! I love the sharp opening note, the old fashioned feel, and then this “surprise!” vanilla in the drydown!
Really want to try Cartier La Trezieme Heure!
The last sample(s) that convinced me that I need a bottle were Agonist Vanilla Marble (just received my bottle today) and Le Labo Labdanum 18 (my next bottle purchase). Both are wonderful winter comfort in a bottle!
gucci envy
The last perfume sample that convinced me to buy a bottle was ELO’s Bendelirious. I love keeping samples in little bags in my handbag, especially when I travel for a few days. I wear a different one every day, and in the peace of a train journey and an unfamiliar place I savour all the different stages of the perfume. If a perfume can hold its own, I then buy the bottle, and I have an olfactive memory of that journey.
I’d like to repeat a comment which I left so late on one of yesterday’s blogs it may be missed, but here it is:
“I’d just like to generally compliment this Blog on all of its Gift suggestion columns. I thought that I would be able to find some recommendations on some guitar geek blog which would be like those here on this blog, i.e., written by some one who was not selling products but was a knowledgable enthusiast. I also through that if a I saw a possible gift, there would be some independent blog which commented upon it, equivalent to the perfume reviews here, so that I could tell if the product was akin to Bieber’s Someday, (not likely to appeal to real enthusiasts), Angel (Controversial but respected), or Ormonde Jayne (obscure but really liked by enthusiasts).
No such luck. Never found blogs in the guitar world, which come close to those for fume heads, and never found any recommendations which came close to the common sense listing of quality gifts in a wide range of tastes budges or potential audiences.
You guys are awesome.
Keep up the good work.”
Since I know that you guys are very honest, and not susceptible to flattery, I’ll also answer your question. The last fragrance I bought after a sample was Like This
I live in the United States and you may use my email address.
SSS Incense Pure was the last sample that I immediately ordered a full of. Love it!
The last sample I tried that convinced me to buy a whole bottle was Hermes L’Ambre de Merveilles
The sample(s) I would love to get a hold of are Mona Di Orio Vanille, Profumum Vanitas and CB 7 Billion Hearts. (Yes, I’m in a vanilla sort of mood of late.) I live in the US and you may use my email. Thank you for the draw, Robin.
The last sample that convinced me that I need a full bottle is Rubj (eau de parfum). I hope I get one for Christmas!
I’m dying to sample two Hermes classics: Bel Ami and Equipage.
What a cool, fun givaway Robin!
The latest sample(s) I tried that went on the FB wish list are: TF Santal Blush & L’AP Seville a l’Aube. I’m really wanting to try the new Aedes signature scent and Diptyque Volutes.
Your Blog is most interesting, and over the year that I have been reading it, I have learned a great deal about fragrance. I look forward to reading all of your messages.
The last sample I received that convinced me to pursue a full bottle was Frederic Malle’s Portrait of a Lady. I LOVE it!
The next sample I am dying to get my hands on, is Andy Tauer’s Un Rose Chypre.
Thank You for your generous drawings, and Merry Holidays!
Oh, how marvelous! Thanks for this draw.
The last sample I tried that I ended up wanting a FB of was Iris Ganache. I had a tiny sample of it, but wasn’t sure if I really liked it enough to buy a FB. I had a problem with the top notes but something about it kept me wanting to try more, so I got a decant. That’s when I really got to experience the fragrance in its full glory. I’m getting a FB for Christmas 🙂
What a wonderful draw! I’ve been reading this site forever, but decided to post, especially now that the sign-in process is simple. The last sample I tried that convinced me I needed a FB: vintage Caron Tabac Blond. Alas, I can reach the prices on ebay, so that’s led to really wanting to try the current version of it. I’ve heard mixed things. I guess I need to try it myself before I relegate Tabac Blond to “utterly hopeless”.
The last sample that I ended up buying a full bottle was Xerjoff Oud Stars Alexandra – it was so odd and sickening and strange – that everytime I wore the sample/decant – it made me want it more.
I fear the next full bottle I will buy based on a sample is Bond Patchouli Oud because it works so well on me.
Whenever I smelled it, I used to despise Serge Lutens Jeux De Peau. One day, I got a sample and decided to give it a real try, and it finally grew on me so fast that I bought a full-size bottle two weeks later. It couldn’t vanish from my mind, even when I wasn’t wearing it; it felt like Jeux de Peau was lingering everywhere. It didn’t remind me of bread or such smells like Lutens described it; but rather like something both spicy and soft, and it makes it perfect for winter because it just smells warm and comfortable.
Since I purchased it during summer I prefered to wait until it starts getting cold – which is actually right now.
Thanks for the draw!
Oh, this one is easy because it just happened!
The last sample that just convinced me to acquire FB was PdN’s L’Eau Chic. I’ve been wanting to have one of her Eaux but haven’t found one that I felt strongly enough to hit that “buy” button. In steps Parfum1 with a sample and a coupon to boot. Needless to say, I loved and bought it….
I can’t wait to try the new Andy Tauer Lys du desert for Luckyscent. I have ordered it, but it is taking so long to arrive!
I haven’t sniffed a lot of samples recently but this summer I ordered and fell in love with both Rubj and Kiki from the Vero Profumo line. I am still on the fence about Onda. Wonderful and original scents. Pricey though.
Thank you for hosting this!
The last sample that convinced me I wanted a bottle was Fille en Aiguilles. The samples I’d love to try are Rubj, Onda, and Carnal Flower.
I purchased a bottle of Guerlain Angelique Noire after
having a sample. Thanks for the draw!
Well, it wasn’t even a sample it was just a spritz in Sephora, and that was L’Ambre des Merveilles, which I now quite happily own and am wearing. The last actual sample that made me want a full bottle was Atelier Rose Anonyme. And I’m still wanting to get samples of Vero Profumo’s whole line but afraid I’ll want all of them! Her line would make a lovely coffret…hint, hint VP.
Would love to sample Chanel Cuir de Russie.
You can use my email. Thank you!
The last bottle that convinced me to get my hands on was amouage jubilation xxv. This was my introduction to the higher end fragrances. I dont regret it one bit because its one of the most gorgeous fragrances i got my hands on
Viktor & Rolf’s Spicebomb. Nice in the store, DELICIOUS on my skin at home.
The last time I wanted to purchase a full bottle after trying a sample was shortly after the Chanel Jersey launch. I love the airy/breezy quality of that fragrance. I am truly lemming a sample of Jour d’Hermes. JCE is my favorite nose and I’ve been an Hermes gal since the 1970s, when I started wearing Caleche. Thanks for the draw!
What a great giveaway! Based on my recent sampling, I would love to get a bottle of Diptyque Volutes. Thanks Robin!
On, this is delightful! Last sample that convinced me to buy the bottle was Elixer by Penhalagon
The last sample that made me yearn for a full bottle was L’Artisan’s Timbuktu. Still saving my pennies for it!
Hi Robin,
My latest sample that led to a full bottle purchase was Angel’s Les Parfums de Cuir. There are so many I still want to sample, new ones every day, but I am most looking forward to getting my hands on some Byredo Gypsy Water. There are probably about 20 others I could name!
Thanks for the great reading!!
I may sound totally tasteless, the last sample that convinced me to get a full bottle was Angel Aqua Chic 🙂
The last full bottle I got due to a sample was Unicorn Spell, it took awhile but I love the green bean-ness of it in the spring/summer. I’d really like to try Let Me Play the Lion as well.
Last sample that made me go straight online and buy a full bottle was chanel bois des iles parfum. It’s amazing.
There are two I would love to get based on samples. Guerlain Songe d’un Bois d’Ete and Dior Eau Noire. Realistically, these are completely out of reach for me! The beauty of samples is you learn what you can live without and you learn what you have to live without! I have not sampled many niche fragrances and am very curious about these. Thanks for this draw!
I sprung for L’Air du Desert Marocain after trying a sample vial twice…the beautiful bottle doesn’t hurt, either, though. Thanks for such a great draw!
The last sample I tried and then subsequently purchased was Lolita Lempicka’s L’eau en Blanc.
It was/is Seville a L’Aube, but it has not arrived here yet.
Waiting impatiently!
A wonderful giveaway, thank you for running this and allowing international entries.
Only 2 samples I can think of that convinced me to buy full bottles bought are Fendi Theorema and Roja Dove Risque EdP (didn’t pay retail for that though).
Samples I am currently beguiled by are Vero Profumo Onda and Rubj, but I’ve only tried both in EdP, so I’m persuading myself to hold off until I can try the extrait in both too.
Desperate to get samples of the Amouage Library collection. I’ve tried Opus VI thanks to a generous internet friend (love it, but can’t face paying £200). If I try the others, maybe I’ll find a deeper love…
The last highly persuasive sample I tried was Le Labo Patchouli 24. I am dying to try Une Voix Noire and Decennial Lys du Desert, and fortunately samples are on their way as I type.
The last sample the persuade me was L’Eau d’Hiver. Love it so!
L’Artisan Parfumeur Dzing! for me. I’ve had this sample for a while, but still convinced I need a full bottle!
You have permission to use my email address.
I would love to get my hands on a sample of Jo Malone’s Blackberry and Bay!
I really want to try the Diptyque Volutes and the Ambre de Merveilles. I haven’t been sampling much lately but I tried Tolu by Ormonde Jayne and would love to obtain a full bottle.
The last sample that made me want a full bottle is Sublime Balkiss. I got a sample from Aedes and used it up and kept putting my nose into the cellophane packet.
Watched eBay for it – almost bid and then I got a coupon from FragranceNet and got myself 50 ml.
So much for 4th quarter austerity…
Would love the sample box and I live in the US.
Sample that really became a must – cuir de russie by channel. Of course it took several months to work it into the budget….
Thanks for the give away
What a great giveaway!
The last sample that made me lust for a full bottle was Maison Francis Kurkdjian Lumiere Noire Pour Femme. And I’m now dying for a sample of the new Hermes!
Really want to sniff some Premier Figuier. Really, anything figgy, I’m having a moment.
The last sample I tried that convinced me to get a full bottle was FM Portrait of a Lady. Resistance is futile so I am now the owner of the travel spray set.
Thanks for the draw!
The last sample that made me buy a full bottle was L’eau d’Hiver. It was the first sample vial that ever led me to a decant. After I used the small decant I knew I had to have a full bottle. No buyer’s remorse at all!
The cinvincing samplw was CdG Carnation and next desired samples would be of Vero Profumo…
The last sample I tried, and then promptly purchased a full bottle of, was Keiko Mecheri’s Loukhoum Parfum du Soir. No regrets. 😉
Thanks!
The last sample that convinced me a needed a FB was PdN Odalisque. I had had not so good experiences with PdN’s feminines, but this one was definitely a winner!
as i live in the middle of nowhere …perfumes samples it is my treats ..Shaal Nur last bottle i purchased after a lot of samples and my next a must sample is Seville a l’Aube. Thank you for opportunity.
24 Faubourg EDP! Love. Sample was 3 mls, now gone. I’m on a 5 ml decant now, and will buy a FB in January, after all the Xmas expenses are over. Can’t wait.
I tried a tiny drop of the new, not-yet-available Amouage Interlude, and the male version had me (and my perfume-sniffing company) holding our hands to our noses for quite a while! Very dangerous to be so excited about a scent that’s sure to be hard to get and expensive! Eep!
Thanks for the draw, Robin, and of course, you have all the necessary permissions. 🙂
I think the last sample that led to a full bottle was the Ormond Jayne Osmanthus from their discovery set. FB is now in place. And the sample I’ve been yearning for… gosh, there are many. All of the CB I Hate Perfume line (never tried any of them), the new rose perfume from Mandy Aftel, all ouds everywhere, the Tawaf “death by jasmine”…
The last sample that led to a full bottle decision was SL Santal Majescule. Actually, it led to a decant that led to it being on my Xmas list. If I don’t get it, I’ll buy it in January 🙂
I have been lemming a sample of Santal Majuscule from Serge Lutens. Hope I get to try it soon. Thanks for the giveaway!
The sample I would like is anything by Amouge; I last bought a bottle of Rocher Rose Absolute (which I just sprayed in my eye when I went to see the name!)and another of Givenchy Eaudemoiselle (which I did not officially get yet, since I decided I am getting it from “Santa”!)
I’d like to try the first formulation of Egoiste !
The last sample that convinced me to get a full bottle? SSS Winter Woods!
I WANT TO GET MY HANDS ON A SAMPLE OF LA PETIT ROBE NOIR AND THE NEW FORMULA OF D&G FEMME 🙂 I HAVEN´T RECEIVED ANY SAMPLE THAT CONVINCED ME OF BUYING THE PERFUME.
Most recent sample to convince me I need a full bottle is Ayala Moriel’s fabulous new tuberose, Treazon.
Sample I”m dying to try: Vero Profumo’s Mito.
Thanks for the international draw opportunity.
The most recent sample I tried that convince me I need a full bottle is Pandora, from DSH Perfumes…yesterday. Gorgeous creamy green retro…some similarities to Bandit but much more wearable.
Patou Pour Homme would be my “I want it!”.
a) Bottega Veneta and b) Frederic Malle Iris Poudre.
Robin, thanks for the draw! The last sample that led to a bottle for me was Seville a L’Aube. A couple of people earlier mentioned Memo Shams, and I’ve been dying to try this, as well as others from that line. They don’t seem to have any distributors in the U.S., though. hmph.
The last sample that convinced me to get a full bottle was Serge Lutens Borneo 1834. I just love that chocolate, minty, patchouli vibe it has going.
Not tooo long ago I ordered a sample of Manoumalia, curious to see why a few people loved it and so many others thought it was some kind of evil, putrid scrubber.. Scrubber?! Hell to the no! It was so heady and tropical flowery and divine I wanted to roll in it! I didn’t even finish the sample before ordering a FB
The last sample that convinced me that I needed the full-sized bottle was Parfum d’Empire Cuir Ottoman. The samples I’ve been dying to get my hands on are the Ramon Monegal leathers and the patchouli. You have my permission to use the email address in my account. Thanks for the draw.
I would like to try a sample of Chanel Sycomore.
I got samples of Prada Candy in the NST Swapmeet and was convinced I needed a full bottle. That’s my latest sample-to-bottle story. Thanks for the opportunity to win. I agree to the conditions of the draw.
Robin, thank you for the draw.
Cartier Heure X
PdN Vanille Intense

ELO Like This (surprise)
Le Labo Oud and Fleurs d’Oranger
By Kilian Sweet Redemption
Too many just to go pick them up. Am such a scent Junkie.
The samples I am currently hoping to try next are the Hermessence perfumes and pretty much all the Ineke perfumes. I’ve had a couple perfume samples recently that made me want to buy a full bottle (SL Encens et Lavende, PdN Vanille Tonka, Sonoma Scents Studio Champagne de Bois), but I have been (painfully) waiting until the holidays to buy. Thanks for the draw!
The sample that I’ve wanted to get my hands on is Xerjoff Fars. The sample that made me get a full bottle was Kilian’s Good Girl Gone Bad!
By Kilian Back to Black languished in my sample drawer for over a year before I tried it. Had to have it!
The most recent sample that moved me to prioritize getting a FB was Naomi Goodsir Bois d’Ascese…what a great masculine. So much wood and smoke, and then a really ultrapleasant take on incense to finish out. Really elegant.
Samples? Gosh, I guess I’d love to get my hands on another Commes des Garcons “Tar.” That was a happy beachball of a smell, and fairly original.
The last sample that convinced me that I needed to buy the bottle was Amouage Jubilation XXV. That scent envelops you in luxury! Thanks for the contest!
The last sample to trigger a Pavlovian response in me: MCMC Humanity (the LE rollerball that was done as a fundraiser a few years back). It smelled divine on both me and my mom… but the rollerball had a tiny leak and about two months later, was gone. I have some samples I recently won from Perfume Posse to go through; just based on vial scent, it seems there are a few FB candidates there also… 🙂 Thank you for hosting this drawing!
NP
I just received my discovery set from Ormond Jayne and the sample of Ta’if made me decide on a FB, ASAP! i am in love with that one..
Thank you for the draw.
SL Feminité du Bois. SO MUCH WOOD. As soon as the last bit of my sample was gone I had to have a full bottle. I knew I’d wear it for years and years.
Thanks for the draw!
I recently – FINALLY – got a sample of L’Artisan’s Seville a l’ Aube. Now I really want a full bottle! Love that orange blossom and beeswax combo.
Having read endless tributes to its fabulousness, I would really like to try Xerjoff’s Richwood. I know it’s out of my league price wise, but I don’t care -I seek perfume beauty wherever I can find it! 🙂
I received a sample of Especially Escada Delicate Notes and sprayed it on a blotter and while driving home from the mall…1/2 hour….the smell just captivated me. I eventually had to go and purchase a bottle of this fabulous juice!
I bought the sample pack from Ineke and ended up buying Evening Edged in Gold and Field Notes of Paris. I wish more companies would do sampler packs like this–where you get a credit towards a full bottle.
The last sample that drove me to a full bottle was OJ Tolu. It is my perfect cold weather scent. I would love to sniff any of the Monegals or Arquistes. You have my permission to use my email address. Thank you for the draw!
I have been totally convinced by Neela Vermeire’s Trayee. Now I just need the necessary funds… And I want to sample everything, more or less 🙂
Wow…feels like it’s been a long time since I’ve had a sample that’s bowled me over. Guess I’ll have to go with Azemour, though I haven’t bought it yet.
Always wanted to try 7 Billion Hearts!
Usually a sample only convinces me that I need another sample, or 20. It’s an insatiable curiosity to smell – inhale – experience – understand – a fragrance, at my leisure. So if I have a nice vial of many new or vintage, niche or not, pricy or less, I can come back to it next week or next year. Sometimes the fragrance will linger in my memory and must smell it. Others, not so much. Many of the full size bottles I have will probably remain in a very select club. I would rather spend my money on samples (like visiting museums) than big bottles (like buying real estate).
Sooo many!! Currently sampled and on the hit-list: Tauer’s Incense Rose; CDG Daphne; on and on..! xoxo
Last sample that convinced me that I need a FB, Bottega Veneta. I also want a FB of D&G Velvet Love.
One I am wanting to try badly..Tom Ford’s Amber Absolute.
Of course, you have permission to use my e-mail!
Thanks for the draw! Very generous!
So many amazing giveaways going on this holiday season! What I’m dying to try right now? SSS Forest Jour Ensoleille or Providence Perfume Co. Moss Gown.
The sample that makes me *want* is the, of course, discontinued Denueve. I too want a FB of Bottega Veneta, and I’m digging the honey and incense of my Ramon Monegal Cuirelle sample.
Thanks for the generous draw!
My current ex-sample-lust is Andy Tauer’s Une Rose Chypree. Man, I am hoarding that sample like it is made of pure gold. The warm fuzzy rosy chypreness! Mmmmmm…. This is a FABULOUS draw!
you have some very generous readers! I really would like to try some more Xerjoffs and LeNez samples…You could keep the Aedes sample, however, I bought a FB last year, but it’s just not me… mabe we could see to organize a draw for non-US-readers, generosity is contagious!
a) Séville à l’aube
b) Ramon Monegal and Arquiste samples
The fragrance I would most like to sample right now is Hermes Ambre des Merveilles.
Thanks for another draw!
What a great draw! I have three samples that are making me lust after full bottles – Decennial Lys du Desert, Hermes Ambre de Marveilles and Imperial Opoponax.
Tried and now want/need Borneo 1834
last sample that convinced me on a full bottle was SSS tabac aurea
Good morning. You are always so generous!
I have recently been sent a sample of Diptyque’s Eau Duelle, which I think would be very pleasant for the winter.
Have a nice day..
Last sample which convinced me I needed a full bottle: Iris Silver Mist!
The last sample that convinced you that you needed the full-sized bottle:PdN l’Eau Chic, a perfect summer scent
The sample you’ve been dying to get your hands on: A Lab on Fire – what we do in Paris is secret.
Last botles that I bought because of the sample were Frederic Malle Une Rose and SL Santal Majuscule. Didn’t regret a minute. I would love to have samples of Kilians. It is hard to purchase such an expensive perfume without thoroughly trying it.
The last sample that will soon lead to a full bottle: Vero Kern’s Mito.
Fun giveaway, thank you! I’m most dying to try the new Miller & Bertaux whose name I cannot bring myself to reproduce here.
I actually have two samples that i’ve been dying to get my hands on, which are Niki de Saint Phalle & Caron Narcisse Noir. Want it so bad!
Thanks for the draw.
The last sample that convinced me to purchase a full size bottle was Botrytis Ginestet. It smells delicious, comforting and intriguing all at the same time.
I would like to try Carnal Flower Frederic Malle.
Thanks!
Bulgari’s l’eau parfumé au thé vert convinced me to get my most recent full-bottle.
Bought a FB after sniffing my sample of Bois de Feminité during the first cold days in December – a perfect winter fragrance.
Samples to die for would be vintage Mitsouko and Samsara. Oh, if only….
Thanks for the draw!
Ok , here we go!
I would love to get hold of a sample of Rubj by vero profumo !
Sounds like an adventure, that one
Last sample to make me open my wallet was parfum Sacre which i had been waiting to smell for ages! It was actually all I hoped for.
Would loove to win this one, gonna hold my breath, starting now =D
o dear o dear such a lovely giveaway again. Last must-have based on a sample? Orris Noir and Tolu by Ormonde Jayne. But I’m stilll must-having it – patience is adamant. O, and that goes for Dia Amouage too…
The last thing I sample that made me fall head-over-heels in love with a scent and then bought a bottle of, was Maison Francis Kurkdjian – APOM pour Homme.
Someone sad Vero Profumo Rubj above, regarding something one would love to sample. Agreed.
I’ve been dying to get my hands on “Mito”… It’s composition is so… Me…!
Thank you!
The last sample that melted me enough to make me want to buy a full bottle was L’Eau d’Hiver from Frederic Malle. I have always admired the FM line, but always refrained from buying them because I thought they were too formal, too perfectly well-made. Recently, I bought the coffret for men, and I was amazed to discover that my two favorites were light years away from the kind of fragrances I usually wear. They were not spicy or incense-y (the sort of fragrances I normally prefer), but they were the minty-fresh Geranium Pour Monsieur and the stunningly beautiful L’Eau d’Hiver. I never thought I would be so moved by a composition inspired by winter, but I literally swoon every time I smell my wrist. I find it elegant, comforting and sexy all at the same time. It’s such an unsual scent for a man, and I really hope more men discover it. I would never have, if I had not ordered the coffret online.
My last convincing one was Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles. A sample proved that this smoky gingerbread house in the haunted forest scent must be mine! Thanks for the draw!
It’s been a while, I must say, since I last felt that absolutely compelling need to buy a bottle based on a sample, but one that really stands out for me is Dior’s Leather Oud. That raunchiness had me hooked from the outset! Thanks for the draw.
Oh, thank you so much for the draw!
The sample(s) I would love to get are of SSS’s line: Incense pure, nostalgie, champagne de bois, forest walk…
I almost never ever make blind purchases so samples play a big role in determining what fragrances end up in my collection (the other player: testers placed in places where you can test at ease ;)).
The last sample-finished-must-get-a-bottle purchase was, let me see…Vamp a NY (which I regret anyway). But I am planning to get Montale Intense tiaré this very day: my last sample has been drained and I miss that fragrance very, very much.
I’m dying to get my hands on a sample of Mauboussin Histoire d’Eau. The name was mysterious to me until I discovered the Histoire d’O, the book. The Fifty Shades… of its time, only much better. I’m really curious to see if the fragrance reflects the spirit in any way.
Last sample that convinced me I need a full bottle? Lancome 2000 et une rose. Might as well be wishing for a unicorn. *sigh* On a more realistic note, Etro Etra does it for me.
Yay, perfume samples! Where would I be without them? I would love to get my hands on vintage Chypre de Coty. Is that a long shot, or what? It is remarkable to me that one perfumer managed to create an entire classic category . I am an armchair history buff and like to imagine the perfumers of yore at their work. Thanks for the opportunity , Robin.
The last sample I really wanted to get my hands on was of FM Portrait of a Lady. Thank you for the draw!
Sonoma Scent Studio’s ‘Fireside Intense’. I have smelled of fireside intensely before now, having once lit a blaze beneath a blocked chimney just before a party. My house was like a medieval banqueting hall without the benefit of spaciousness; guests with watering eyes tripping over dogs successfully looking for places to expire. It was not an odor into which I wished to opt!
However, I was curious after having read Bois de Jasmin’s review (what a stylish and impressive woman! I trust her in all matters of taste!), and who doesn’t want to feel ‘relaxed and comforted’? And indeed I was! The acrid notes I feared weren’t present, but richness and warmth were in abundance. I wear it on days off, to potter about in snuggly cheer.
Thanks for giving us the chance to win this Robin 🙂 the sample that persuaded me to get a full bottle lately was Orange Star by Tauer Perfumes… mmm… and I’m dying to try Givenchy`s Vetyver; NSTP’s review of this is excellent and I’d really love to try it, but it’s very difficult to find!
The last 2 samples I tried were Jo Malone’s Bayberry & Fig and Chanel’s Coco Noir, and I would like to have a full bottle of both. I would really love a sample of Bottega Veneta…every time I ask for it, the SA tells me they are out.
My holy grail of samples is Moslbuddjewchristhindao by Etterhaus. It’s been discontinued but I keep hoping to run into a sample somewhere. The last sample that convinced me a I needed a full bottle was Chocolate Greedy by Montale. I know it smells like Cocoa Puffs on some people but on me it smells lightly of chocolate and delicate white flowers – I love it!
a) I finally got the full-sized bottle of Mandragore Pourpre by Annick Goutal after having played with the sample for more than a year:))
b) I really want to try Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle…
Thank you Robin!
Thanks for the draw; I’d like to try samples of Azemour and Moss Gown.
The last sample that convinced me to buy an FB was Serge Lutens Feminite du Bois, and Bois de Violette is on my wishlist too as I near the end of my sample of that one. Fille en Aiguilles is the next sample I need to try from SL.
Thank you Robin for your generous draw!
Great give away idea!
The last sample that convinced me to buy was ‘love’ from lush.
The last samples which convinced me are Lyric Woman Amouage and Lipstick Rose Frederic Malle. I would love to have a full bottle.Have a nice day.
Oooh this is such a terrific giveaway! Thank you! The last sample that convinced me to rush out and grab the full bottle immediately was Fiori Chiari by L’Erbolario. It was a gorgeous, delicate bouquet of white flowers that was just the right mix of femininity without being cloying or old-fashioned. The sample that I have been dying to get my hands on is Blackberry & Bay by Jo Malone 🙂
The last sample that convinced me to buy a full bottle was Sensual Orchid by LM Parfums. It is quite pricey, but reasonable while it’s an extrait de parfum. The smell is really gorgeous: delicate flowers, such as orchid, jasmine and ylang, melted in gourmand-sweet, almost chocolate-y almond cream. Not too sweet, not overwhelming, but really classy.
After trying Ambra di Luna by Ramon Monegal, which is a real piece of Art, I have been dying for to get my hands on all samples from the rest of his perfume line.
Thank you for the wonderful giveaway! I am dying to sample JCE’s Rose Poivrée ever since I read Chandler Burr’s description:
“Rose Poivrée is unsettling and gorgeous, the perfume that Satan’s wife would wear to an opening at MoMA.”
The description gives me shivers, I must smell it but have never been able to find it in a store. And I’m partial to unusual rose combinations… Thanks again!
That’s a fantastic give away! Thank you!
I read quite a few reviews of Black Orchid by Tom Ford, then went in store to have a sniff – it did nothing for me in the beginning, but after half an hour or so I realised that I keep putting my wrist to the nose. When I got home, I ordered a sample and once it arrived, I was sold.
I would love to get my hand on another bell bottle of Serge Lutens, but a trip to Paris is not within my reach the next months, so receiving a sample pack form NST would be sooooo very comforting! Thank you very very much in advance!!!!
I just fell in love with Tom Ford Noir… That’s no surprise though since I love all of his fragrances 🙂
The last sample I received that convinced me to buy a full bottle was Odin 07 Tanoke. Love. Thanks, Robin!
The last sample I received that i’m dying to get a bottle of it Serge lutens a la nuit!! I ordered a box of samples from the perfumed court and now i’m lusting hard after a la nuit.
Let me play the lion was one of the first niche samples I got and I still like it a lot 🙂
Thanks for the draw! I love sample boxes 🙂 The last sample that made me buy the bottle was Arquiste Infanta En Flor. It’s such a pretty orange blossom. I’m wearing it today and even got a compliment from a stranger! As for samples I want, I really want to try the new Hermes that you reviewed today, and I’d also like to compare old vs new MDCI Un Couer en Mai.
I am rarely impressed to buy a full bottle but the last samples I’ve considered worthy were Tom Ford Santal Blush, Neela Vermeire Mohur, and By Killian Rose Oud. However, as all of them are pretty expensive I am still saving for these.
The last sample that made me want a full size bottle was Spicebomb. I finished a mini last winter and kind of forgot about it while waiting for a promotion to buy the full size. Smelled it again at Sephora last month which reminded me of how much I love it.
I’d love to sample the new Hermes but there are no boutiques nearby and they’re pretty pricey on eBay right now.
The most recent sample that led to a purchase of a full bottle was Vol de Nuit. I hadn’t paid it much attention and grabbed a sample a few weeks back–I just bought 3.1 ounces of the eau de toilette last week.
I have been very eager to get my hands on a sample of vintage Cuir de Russie (Chanel) parfum.
The last sample that convinced me to buy a bottle was Hermes Kelly Caleche (which I’m wearing today, incidentally).
My last good sample was Prada Candy. I’ve tried lots since then but nothing has wowed me. I’d love to try Iris Nobile EDP, Penhaglion Malabah, and a bunch of Guerlain fragrances- Iris Ganache, Apres L’Ondee, etc. I’m very much an iris and violet girl, and not into anything fruity, unless its tempered with some spice.
The last sample that sold me on a FB was Folie de Rose (coincidentally, I’m wearing it today). With Bottega Veneta, just one spray at Neiman Marcus made me spring for a bottle! No regrets there, either.
The last sample I totally fell for was Huitieme Art Poudre de Riz. It was probably the first sample in over a year that prompted me to buy a bottle.
The sample that I most want now is Iris Silver Mist. I’ve been wanting to smell ISM forever. The sample box sounds incredible – thank you for your generosity.
Atelier Cologne Orange Sanguine
Thank you this is lovely. I have only recently developed a significant interest in perfumes. I love reading blog articles on them, and am glad to have found your site. I got Cartier’s Baiser Vole after receiving a sample at Nordstrom. I have yet to try many of the fragrances I read about, so thank you for this opportunity.
The last sample that made me want a full size bottle was Mure et Musc Extreme L’Artisan Parfumeur. So beautiful, so attractive, so coldly sweet! It is so suitable for our siberian frosts!
DYING to get my hands on some I Hate Perfume…..and some more Smell Bents, I can’t choose a full size because he keeops coming out with new scents! Please do use my e-mail address and Happy Holidays!
Thanks to a sample, I think my next full bottle will be Cartier Baiser Vole.
I tried APOM after nearly two hours of deliberations at the Sens Unique boutique in Paris. I wanted so much to love it, but nothing.
A few months later I unearthed the little vial and wore it for a few days. Incredible! Whenever I whip around my head it reignites. It’s heavenly, sumptuous, floaty and makes me feel wonderful! Was a question of time? Temperature? I don’t know, but I think I’m in love….
What fun! The sample I’m dying to get right now is actually the Aedes de Venustas herself:). I’ve read so much about it, and it keeps me up at night ever since:). Have a nice day Everyone!
Okay! Here we go with my first NST comment! I read your blog obsessively but am oddly shy about commenting. I think it has to do with all those abbreviations! I know what some of them mean, but not all. Plus sort of a newbie to the parfumista world. I live in France, though, and the lure of parfum is everywhere. So …
I have a funny ritual with samples. They stay on my little bedside table and every night I dab wrists to perfume my sleep. The last 2 to inspire FBs were Serge Lutens Fille en Aiguilles which made me feel like I was sleeping on a forest floor (albeit a very soft and cozy one) and which I love with all my heart; and I also indulged in a FB of Annick Goutal’s Mon Parfum Cherie which is unlike any other perfume in my collection. I had a most intense reaction to it and still can’t figure it out, exactly — it reminds me (after it’s settled down from its initial power blast) in some very deep and internal way of a fragrance from my childhood. Comforting and nostalgic.
Thanks for inspiring a first comment after years of reading!
Trying out a sample of Le Labo Patchouli 24 for the first time was so wonderful, I felt absolutely compelled to get hold of a full bottle, no matter what.
Aloha,
What a generous and welcome offer! I must admit that the most recent samples that compelled me to buy FBs were Narciso Rodriguez For Him, and Boucheron Pour Homme. Irresistible, the Narciso for its unique austerity and the Boucheron for its chypre warmth and elegance. Mahalo!
I have mad love for Providence Perfume’s Cocoa Tuberose, which I never would have stumbled across without your help. So thanks! I ordered as sample and a week later bought a full bottle.
Tom Ford’s ‘Cafe Rose’ made me want that fragrance. Of course, you may use my email. Thanks for this giveaway and the website, too.
The last sample that moved me to get a full bottle was Chanel No.19 Poudre. I know it had lukewarm reviews but it works for me and my love of iris. Thanks for the draw!
Hey there. I would love to win this exotic sample pack. The last sample i tried was hermessence vetiver tonka after reading your reviews and i ended up buying the bigger bottle of it. Beautiful perfume and i am delighted with it. Thank you!
The last sample that made me crave a FB was vintage Shiseido Murasaki (I wore it in the 80s) & I’ll have to save my pennies if I’m to procure 1 of the horrendously priced bottles on evilbay. Dying to try the new Hermes thanks to your tempting review Robin. Thanks so much for the opportunity to win this fab prize!!
My most memorable from sample to FB story happened some years ago, when I found a sample of Cartier So pretty Rose Verte at a Chinese perfume store. It was sitting forgotten among a pile of old samples being sold for little money. And I fell in love with its zesty rose smell, so different from the original So pretty. In the perfumeries it was now where to be found and it took me months and months of browsing on ebay before finally finding a bottle.
I’d love to sample Parfum D’Empire Musc Tonkin
Wow! What a giveaway! The last sample I got that was definitely full bottle worthy was Bottega Veneta, although Robert Piguet’s Baghari is running a close second. And I truly wish Guerlain would offer samples of their more exclusive lines, especially l’Art et la Matiere and the Carnal Elixirs.
The last sample that convinced me that you needed the full-sized bottle is… Scandal by Lanvin.
The last sample that sold me was Hermes Jardin sur le Toit and I am sure that the new Hermes will do the same–why bother with the samples, I should just whip out my credit card and be done with it!! Thanks for the draw–hope I win !!
The last sample that made me buy a full bottle of perfume was actually a hair scent, Linden Blossom from Pure and Petal. A scent I would love to sample is Guerlain’s Après L’ondée.
Hooray, a drawing! Someone’s going to have a joyful surprise. I am looking to get my hands on a Florabotanica sample!
The last sample that convinced you that you needed the full-sized bottle was Un Jardin sur le Nil by Hermes
I love samples! I got a sample of Like This and fell in love and have been dropping lots of hints so I hope to get that for Christmas but am nervous that my husband cannot remember the name of it. Also, recently sprayed him with a sample of Guerlain’s Vetiver and believe that he needs a full bottle of that.
Thank you for running this giveaway! Hard to remember the last sample that made me actually buy a FB because I have not been buying FBs and need to finish a decant before moving to a bottle. Maybe Safran Troublant or Keiko Mecheri Genie des Bois…or maybe PG Bois Blond?
Have been pining for samples of: Anima Dulcis, Musc Tonkin , ELdO Like This, SL Santal Majuscule, De Profundis, anything SIP–
though many of these are unattainable for me now, I am actually happy just getting a chance to wear a few times and nurse the sample. Have been trying to pare down FBs and pass on samples instead of keeping them for reference and revisiting (which has admittedly been fun and yielded great results)
There are a lot of samples that convinced me that I need a FB. Trayee, Ellie Nuit, Iris Absolue, De Bachmakov, L’Eau d’Hiver, Vintage Farnesiana, Sarrasins, and on and on! Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to afford an FB in a year! My last actual FB’s were Bois de Violette, Dzing, Daim Blond, Love Chloe, and Untitled by Maison Martin Margiela. It’s feast or famine! I’ve been dying to try the Monegal line (especially Impossible Iris), Opardu, Poudre de Riz and anything with a rice note, anthing Lubin, anything ANDY TAUER, the Frapin line, Memo, Agonist and on and on! I want to sniff everything!!!!!
Perhaps, I am late but still I’ll try my luck! I have been reading NST for years but not regularly enough (as I can see now((). I am dying to test the new Jour d’Hermes, Bond#9 Fire Island and Westside, Estee Lauder Private Collection Amber Ylang-Ylang and Guerlain Nahema.
Last time I purchased a FB was not due to the sample but to the miniature. It was Lanvin Arpege. I love it!
