As far as mad scrambles go, Paul Smith London for Men isn't a bad choice to be wielded by the British royals. [...] But Kate missed a chance to fumigate ... I mean "honour" the Tuvaluan performers with some hip choices in native British perfumes.
— The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attending a sort of dancing festival in Tuvalu, sprayed fragrance on the participants as a traditional sign of respect. The Guardian's Shortcuts blog suggests that while the Paul Smith London they obtained at the last minute was ok, they could have done better. That situation just cried out for Penhaligon’s Amaranthine.
I did like their suggestion of Bouddica Wode though!
Ormonde Jayne’s Tolu! Or perhaps, Woad…is that the one that was blue and dried clear? Any of the Boudicca would have been pretty good.
Oh, guess I ought to have read the article!
The OJ is a great suggestion though, although a whole group of dancers in Tolu might be a bit aromatic, LOL…
God bless them, they’re so cute in their obvious happiness to be together! I can’t even begin to imagine what it must be like to have to always be mindful of so many social ‘protocols’, and be constantly scrutinized by the world at the same time.
I think it was a safe choice, but then it also sounds like it was also hurried by necessity. It’s fun to try to imagine what else they might have considered if they would have had more time, though – I like the idea of Wild Bluebell, but that’s not one I’ve sampled yet so don’t know about the scent itself.
They really are cute as can be.
