Robin, will this be coming to the U.S? I’m in love with Pour Femme
Yes, this fall.
OMG is that a Gene McDaniels cover? Or did the Italian song come first? This makes my day!
I don’t know the music at all, sorry!
Lys,
even if they were recorded in the same year (1963), la “CittĂ Vuota” (a big Mina’s success) came after “It’s A Lonely Town”.
But, of course, here in Italy, only Mina’s version is famous!
🙂
Thanks Fabio – the song was before my time (I know Gene McD from listening to “oldies”), but I have a sense that “Lonely Town” wasn’t one of his bigger hits.
The Mina version is fabulous however – thanks to your comment I found it on youtube. Easy to see why it was popular.
Oh well, these songs are before my time as well, but in Italy… “Mina is Mina”
Ciao!
🙂
