This is an open thread for participants in the Monday Mail articles to share their experiences, and hopefully let us know if they found what they were looking for (or went bankrupt trying). I've sent out emails requesting feedback from everyone who took part between May and August of 2011, so check back over the next few days to see what we can find out (or, check out this post about the subjects from January through April). We'll check on the rest of the 2011 participants in a few months.
Here are links to the articles for each participant:

Good evening Robin, fellow NSTers & of course my dear Pradaholics 😉
I was quick, back then in june 2011, so my feedback from The Monday Mail landed in previous feedback (https://nstperfume.com/2011/08/01/the-monday-mail-open-thread-for-feedback-january-through-april-2011/)
I bought Pour un Homme de Caron, which I liked back then, but my fireworks for that one quicky faded away. I kind of started disliking this fragrance after 3 month, I sometimes spray it when I go to bed, but that’s it.
Apart from the Monday Mail experience I finally, after 8 long months made my way to Prada Amber pour Homme Intense. Many of you know this story of mine as I happened to tell you that step by step weekly. I may not be satisfied with Caron Homme (maybe I’ll rediscover it later on) I’m very satisfied with my beloved Prada.
So thank you for the Monday Mail, Robin & dear readers, thank me for my rewarded patience and thank you, Prada, for creating ideally suitable parfums for me.
Excellent, thanks Lucasai!
Hi all! This is Kyla, I posted looking for a date-night perfume. I ordered samples of pretty much everything suggested in my thread and it was loads of fun trying them out. I also now find myself with a Gentleman Caller, so maybe they worked. Thanks for everyone’s suggestions!
Before this, I hadn’t ever tried really high end perfumes, so I’m very glad it gave me an excuse to try some. In particular, I loved all of the Ormonde Jaynes I tried, and I think I’ll have to start saving up for a bottle of OJ Woman, which is beautiful and very very me.
In the end, it came down to Boucheron Jaipur, L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons, and 1740 by Histoire de Parfums. They were all very different, which made it hard to choose. It turns out Gentleman Caller is anosmic to Chasse aux Papillons, so that ruled that one out. Jaipur was nice, but 1740 seemed a little more mesmerizing and was the one that made Gentleman Caller say “wow, you smell really good tonight!” so I went with that. I bought it from the Perfume Shoppe on a trip to Vancouver and since a small bottle was so cheap (and less than $50 counts as free, right?) I ended up with another bottle of Histoire de Parfums’ Patchouli Noir as well. I guess I had a secret patchouli fiend deep inside me!
That’s a great feedback! I’m happy you found your scent & Gentlemen Caller 😉
I am glad to see another fan of the glory that is HdP 1740. Such beauty and so lovely to wear. I also love and admire Ormonde Woman, good to see that the Monday Mail was so productive for you.
You caused me to look up Kevin’s review-definitely worth rereading.

Hi, Kyla, I really love 1740 and when I wore it to a party last time, many people commented on how lovely they thought I smelled!
Love that you’re calling him Gentleman Caller!
that sounds nice
From Cailyn:
Hi Robin,
I settled on 31 Rue Cambon for a Summer scent, and found an older version of Mitsouko parfum for Winter. When that runs out, I’m not sure what I’ll do….
Thanks again for all your suggestions. It was a fun hunt.
Cailyn
What a wonderful, classical set of perfumes!
I’d suggest that you might want to start stalking your next Mitsouko now, Cailyn – they’re not making any more of the older stuff. It can’t hurt good to have a back-up – you could always sell or swap it if you later decide to move on.
