Avon has launched Musk Fire (shown above left), a new masculine fragrance in the same series as Musk Marine:
Bold bergamot and basil fueled by the heat of peppercorn, spicy cardamom and smoky musk.
Avon Musk Fire is available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette and in matching grooming products. (via avon)
Victoria's Secret has launched Simply Gorgeous (shown above right), a new flanker to last year's Gorgeous fragrance for women:
Effortlessly sexy. Completely irresistible. Simply Gorgeous! Crimson apple, sunkissed petals, velvet amber.
Victoria's Secret Simply Gorgeous is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum or 250 ml Fragrance Mist.

I say big NO to Avon perfumes! Last month was probably the last time I ordered some perfume from them. That was a disaster!
IMHO their male frags are terrible, some cosmetics are ok.
I have little enough experience, but do think there’s a huge range of quality (and price) over there. Some of the higher end designer collaborations have not been bad.
You’re right. But what I got was an Avon&designer collaboration which should be nice but it isn’t that’s such an misunderstanding for me. It smells bad to me
Sorry!
I wouldn’t even expect Lacroix to smell this bad, I’m so sorry too…
I agree that Avon perfumes are usually not the best, but I have to mention that one of my favourite perfumes of all time was from Avon. They carried it in the early- to mid-1990’s and it was called Soie Rouge. I wish I could still get it!
“Avon Musk Fire” sounds like a string of words that someone in Oliver Sacks’ waiting room might say.
Hilarious! I’m thinking of using “musk fire!” as an expletive, myself.
LOL!
I quite like the name “Musk Fire” . Although it would probably sound (and smell) better in French.
Muscs Feu by Serge Lutens anyone? Or I’d always give L’Artisan Feu et Musc a sniff.
Good point everything sounds better in French, lol.
I generally don’t like Avon and haven’t sniffed much of any in years, I cannot speak to much about that brand. Though I got a sample in the mail of Reese Witherspoon’s In Bloom and I liked that quite a bit actually. The name Musk Fire reminds me of Yosemite Sam trying to blow up a varmint, “I’m a-gonna b-b-b-bloooow yah t’smithereens!”
As far as VS..I don’t shop there..don’t like their scents, don’t like their ads. It used to be a classy place to shop back in the day(gosh, when was that, like 20+years ago?). It was discreet…hence the name Victoria’s Secret. Now there is nothing secret anymore..I instantly changed my mind about VS when they switched their marketing and got Supermodels and went for skimpy ads. It used to be such a classy, lovely boutique..now it’s just sex ads and nothing pretty:(. I think their scents are way overrated..I think VS is very overrated. JMHO.
