Sospiro ~ new perfumes

Posted by Robin on 9 December 2011 18 Comments

Sospiro perfume flacon

Sospiro is a new niche line from the XerJoff brand. They debut with five fragrances:

Accento ~ a woody oriental; "The head notes immediately burst alive with the freshness of Italian Citrus and floral notes, leaving a loving embrace of warm Oriental undertones".

Capriccio ~ a woody floral; "This royal blend preludes with an unpredictable mélange of white flowers and colourful fruits, bringing out a joyful and intense sensation. This is followed by a playful combination of precious woods and cashmeran notes which envelope the wearer in a soft and delicate veil."

Duetto ~ a floral chypre; "A sophisticated dance between the finest blend of flowers and rose absolue, arm in arm with precious oud, ambergris and vanilla bourbon."

Laylati  ~ a woody aromatic; "A mysterious smoky accord of the rarest ingredients that can only be appreciated by a true connoisseur. A masterly crafted example of multifaceted woody and herbal notes."

Vivace ~ a woody chypre; "The vivacious energy from this fragrance expresses itself in a delicate citric-aromatic dance, wrapped in a warm melody of precious cashmeran and woody notes."

The Sospiro fragrances are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum; the latter 4 can be found now at First in Fragrance in Germany.

Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous bottle. Is the butterfly part of the bottle like the AG butterfly bottles? They all sound so lovely. I’m a big fan of woody fragrances and the fact that four out of five are described as such piques my interest. The floral chypre reads like something I would like, too. I haven’t dared look at the prices yet. Are they as expensive as the Xerjoff fragrances or is this line a little more affordable?

No, the butterfly is not part of the bottle, sorry! And they’re expensive 250-300 euros.

I believe these are geared towards consumers in the Middle East, whereas the “regular” Xerjoff line was geared towards Russia? But I don’t know that much about them.

It’s funny because isn’t XerJoff an Italian company? Guess they are acting Italian now to broaden their audience outside of the Russian luxury market.

Price point will be around $350 for these, based on what they cost in EU.

I think they’re Italian, but from what I can see that was never really their intended market. But again, I don’t really know much about them. Except they very quickly released many, many fragrances.

Only $350 – that is so cheap. *(snort)*

But I do drool over the bottles. However, the fragrance notes are not very distinctive and are not calling me. Fortunately

I recently tried Capriccio. I thought it would be an exquisite melange of high quality ingredients. But it smells like a cheaper version of Narciso Rodriguez for Her EdP. It would be madness to pay 300€ for a fragrance like this. The XerJoff Fragrances are not original either, but at least they are made with ace raw materials.

Talk about niche brands with a damn attitude. I noticed on my email confirmation from Tauer perfumes in Switzerland, that the incorrect fragrance was being ordered. I contacted the link it had for customer service and I told them the deal of what I really wanted, that there had been a mistake.
I got an email from Andy Tauer myself saying not to ever and he or she meant NEVER visit their site, certainly not order from their site again. That I would be refunded and to deny the package and that he wouldn’t speak of this with me ever again. Is he like a God or something? What a loser. Let’s boycott Tauer. I ordered the rose incense and the orange was listed. Maybe I will like it. I will send him $10 every week until its paid off. What a shame. I had big hopes for them but ANDY is a mad person. I even apologized like I had made the mistake. All for BOYCOTTING TAUER. WHO CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT THEM? Is there such a person out there that thinks that Tauer is so great? I want to know. Never smelled any. What about the Comes des Garçons? I had ordered the champaca flower one for like $265 for 40ml. Uh uh, called and fixed that I am getting the eau du parfum in the 100 ml for less. I’m so mad I can’t sleep had a wreck today, got a ticket and the cop I think is parked on my street. He followed me all the way home after telling me that he would not do that. What a weirdo. I know someone in Internal Affairs I’m going to find out about Officer Vargo. I love these little niche brands. But I like department store too. This blog showed me the niche way and I thank you Robin. Do you know Andy Tauer? Can you tell him that I’m calling for a boycott? Maybe then I’ll get my rose incense. What a ****ing day.

So sorry you had a terrible day!

I don’t think you’ll have any luck getting people to boycott Andy Tauer — he’s probably the single most beloved niche line in perfumedom, and that’s not only because people love the fragrances but because they like him — he’s nice to people on blogs, he gives away tons of product, he goes out to perfume stores to meet his clients, etc.

Not sure what happened in your case because that doesn’t sound like him, but if he advises you to deny the package, that sounds like it’s the best thing to do — why would you need to send him money every week?

At first thought late last night just to get under his skin. He didn’t apologize, I think it was a different person that emailed me. See, I asked if the Orange Classic had shipped yet and that’s the reply I got. I mentioned some other niche brands to whomever and I think they didn’t like that. They sure didn’t like something. I’ve never. I told him I had told everyone and he then apologized. I think that was an apology, he really didn’t know what I was talking about. It was late maybe he was drunk or sleeping. I am going to keep the Orange because it says it has vanilla and it lasts long. I did make a mistake ordering but I’ll live. I don’t think, no matter who you are, when you are trying to sell a product that you should be so rude. There is no call, I asked a simple question but I did not tell him how great he is because I don’t know. I half way hope I don’t and I ship it back if I don’t like it. Let Mr. Fancy Pants deal and if he doesn’t give me my money back I will file a claim with my bank. Simple. I don’t care if it’s Prince William and her RH Katherine Middleton, I demand to be treated with dignity and respect. [ed note: a couple sentences deleted] Shame on him, I am mad all over again whomever it was.

I agree that customers should always be treated with respect.

I did delete a couple sentences from the end of your comment, because that’s a very specific accusation and this isn’t the place for it.

I’ve removed your last comment DolceSarah. I’ll let the other 2 stand but this isn’t the place for you to carry on a long term argument with Tauer Perfumes, not least because it would not be appropriate for me to let him air his side of the story here. I wish you luck in working out your dispute.
