Our series of holiday gift posts continues today with some gift ideas for the men, although bear in mind that all of the holiday gift posts have at least one or two masculine and/or unisex items, and for that matter, there are plenty of items below that women might want.
If you missed them, here are links to part 1 (scented body products), part 2 (travel sizes & coffrets), part 3 (more travel sizes & coffrets) and part 4 (home fragrance). Coming up next: solid perfumes.
From Odin, candles in their four unisex fragrances (Sunda, Owari, Century or Petrana). $65 each at Barneys.
From indie line CB I Hate Perfume, their best-selling fragrance In The Library, with notes of English Novel, Russian & Moroccan Leather Bindings, Worn Cloth and a hint of Wood Polish. In 15 ml Perfume Absolute ($90), 100 ml Water Perfume ($75) or 150 ml Home Spray ($45), at CB I Hate Perfume.
From Penhaligon's, the Blenheim Bouquet Gift Set: "This beautifully illustrated box contains a 100ml Blenheim Bouquet Eau de Toilette Splash and Limited Edition silver plated atomiser in it's own leather case. Blenheim Bouquet is a bracing mix of citrus oils, spices and woods. Discreet and immaculately turned out, it is a fragrance that has continually adapted to every twist and turn of its existence." $120 at Penhaligon's.
At left, from Ole Henriksen, Lavender Body Oil: "As an essential oil, Lavender is simply unsurpassed and is truly a miracle worker. Often referred to as 'burns first aid', Lavender’s anti-inflammatory and regenerating properties are amazing. Combine this with its soothing and calming impact on the skin and intoxicating scent and you have a fabulous, multi-purpose body oil, that is simple enough to use every day. Perfect for use all over the body, after showering, before your body moisturizer and for body massage." $28 at Miomia. In the center, from Frederic Malle, shower gel in the Vetiver Extraordinaire fragrance. 200 ml for £40 at Liberty in the UK. And for the young man on your list, at right, Ed Hardy Villain All Over Body Spray, 180 ml for $15 at Macy's.
From Diptyque, a gel roll-on in the Tarocco fragrance: "It carries the exhilarating scent of the Mediterranean in winter and the freshness of fruit just plucked from the tree, plump and ripe." £28 at Selfridges in the UK.
From Mistral, a men's gift set with four 250 g bar soaps in Cedarwood Marine, Citrus Woods, Black Amber and Sandalwood Bamboo. $43 at Mistral.
From Geo F Trumper, deodorant in the GFT fragrance ("Citrus, with a hint of spice", $28) or shaving cream in Almond, Limes or Violet ($21 each). All at Grooming Lounge.
That Penhaligans is sooooo cute.
Sign me up for the CBIHP. Sounds fabulous.
Isn’t it adorable?
Oh my god, so much holiday fragrance gift ideas… I don’t know which to pick anymore 🙂
Always found Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet a terrific fragrance and I love the illustrations on that gift box but I’m afraid it’s a bit out of my budget at the moment. Too bad.
I mean many instead of much of course
I was very sad about the price of the Vetiver Extraordinaire Shower Gel. I want some, but I want to pay about $15. Ha.
Yeah, ditto.
I love Trumper Violets shaving creme, but the Malle shower gel is calling me.
A gel roll on? Tell me more…
I wonder why a gel rollerball would be preferable to a regular, liquid-filled rollerball, aside from gimmickry. It seems like it’d leave a snail-like trail of goo on your skin, no?
If it’s silicone, it will rub in ok — same stuff they use in many “dry oils”. But in my experience, silicone does not hold scent well over the long run.
I don’t know anything much about them, sorry! I assume they’re silicone based, but have never seen ingredients.
