According to beauty market research conducted by The NPD Group, Inc., a leading market research company, during the first 10 months of 2011, (January to October), total prestige fragrance dollar sales in U.S. department stores were $1.7 billion, a healthy double-digit gain of 10 percent, compared to the same time last year.

I would not have guessed that Jimmy Choo was so succesful.
I certainly am surprised that Someday is listed as a “prestige” scent. (Yes, I am being catty and snobby, which is better than smelling like prestige bubble gum.)
Prestige is just an indicator of where a scent is sold — means it is primarily sold in department stores as opposed to mass market stores.
I would accept fragrances like the Beeb’s Someday being in the top five, as long as it allows the fragrance company to produce other fragrances of better quality (maybe in smaller release) for those of who don’t want to smell like candy or a dryer sheet. Alas, this logic probably isn’t and never will be followed.
LOL…nope, don’t think they see it that way!
