So this post seemed so sad and lonely without any comments, I decided to click on the ad. Surely I’d have something to say!!?
Best part was scaring my cat with the abrupt beginning of the song, I fear!
Otherwise, it isn’t very noteworthy. I guess I could comment that the model seems very young. I assume that the target audience is young also? Also, the weird flower head-thing reminds me of old barber-shop hair dryers.
(Don’t you feel less lonely, now, little post? *pats on head*)
LOL
LOL — do you take in stray cats, too?
Seriously. This reminded me strongly of Juicy Couture’s advertising. Not sure it’s otherwise noteworthy.
Robin,
I’ll have you know I’ve helped two cats find new homes in the past 3 years! How could you tell? 😉
Your sympathy nodes are obviously quite well developed 🙂
Good for you.
Yes, I fear it may be my tragic flaw! I am a middle school teacher (where it it good to be so sympathetic), but I am also relatively recently out of a LOOoooong, bad relationship. Just kept waiting for it to get better!
Oh I love this ad! (Yes, the beginning startled me too!)
Normally I hate oceans of pink, both the colour and the perfume, but somehow this took me back to the 1980s when I adored the original ads for YSL Paris: lots of peachy pink roses, the Eiffel Tower, and some drop-dead gorgeous model as the face.
In the 1990s there were those pink-petally ads for EL Pleasures featuring Liz Hurley (this was before all that embarrassing stuff with safety pins and Hugh Grant). And in the 2000s there were the ads for Miss Dior Cherie, all pinkness and balloons and ribbons. I hated MDC but the ads were delightful.
There must be a particular spot in my serious, feminist, university educated brain that is delighted by (some) innocent pink ads. This latest one by Coach has found exactly that spot. Many thanks for posting it. Sometimes it’s just fine to enjoy simple things.
Yes, it is 🙂
