Diesel will launch Loverdose (love + overdose), a new fragrance for women; reportedly it will 'ignite a passion like never before'.
The notes feature mandarin, star anise, gardenia, jasmine, licorice, vanilla, amber and wood.
Diesel Loverdose will be available in 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum. The bottle is meant to look like a heart being pierced by an arrow. (via parfumerie.nl)
Update: see a review of Loverdose.
I love that purple bottle! Hopefully won’t be too cheesy in person. Anise, licorice and vanilla are favorites too. . .
Agreed, the bottle is rather cute. I keep finding myself drawn to brightly coloured things lately — which is odd because I don’t actually wear many colours — and perfume bottles have been no exception. Unfortunately, I doubt the juice and I would get along.
Yes — hope it looks good in person, it’s hard to tell.
Totally agree-the bottle is nice, but what really struck me is that that’s actually a GREAT name as well.
I like to think it could be spelled L’Overdose….
Yeah, it’s really not bad. Creative, anyway.
I don’t mind the name either. I mean, ya gotta get creative now since all the trite names are owned or copyrighted. And o-m-g, I LOVERDOSE that bottle. lol (I know, I’m a cheese.) 😛
It’s true! Still shocked that “Candy” wasn’t taken.
That bottle KILLS. Some of us complain that a lot of the bottles nowadays are either boring or are obvious knockoffs of other ideas, and then Diesel–DIESEL–comes up with this! I am in awe.
The contents sound like a Lolita Lempicka kind of thing, and they also sound oddly like the new men’s Azzaro (which is also in a really great, novel bottle).
The bottle kills indeed – was thinking 1. it looks nice, and 2. it also looks like something you could use as a weapon if you were mad at your lover.
I am racking my brains to recall a mystery story that involved someone being stabbed to death with a perfume bottle (one of those vintage dagger bottles, I guess, of the kind that I believe Ralph Lauren briefly resurrected for Safari and then Dior did with its Amulet bottles for the various Poisons a few years back), but no luck. This one looks like just the ticket.
I think the I Am Brave bottle was also really unusual.
Absolutely Agree!
The Only The Brave bottle is unusual, yeah, but also (to my eye) really ugly (and the new Captain America version is actually worse than the original), whereas this one is just amazing-looking: heart shape’s been done, purple’s been done, faceted’s been done, dagger-through-it’s been done (notably by Cartier for Baiser du Dragon), but this particular combination just strikes me as really fresh and evocative. It makes you want to pick it up and hold it, which is usually a sure sign of a terrific design.
Bottle…. K-I-L-L-E-R!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Juice, Sounds FABU! Love Vanilla and Star Anise and Gardenia, Hopefully the Mandarin will be juicy and sweet to go with the Amber and woods in the fragrance! MMMMM YUM!
Sold 🙂
mmm, I read it is lover dose…great name, but not sure that they wrote it in a way all would get it!…maybe L overdose
Wow, everyone seems to be liking the bottle. Does anyone else see the resemblance to Vera Wang Princess?
Loverdose sounds like the name of a bad porn flick.
Hi,
just as update, I got a sample of this (in Germany) and I think this is very_similar to the Lolita Lempicka “First” EdP/EdT (the lilac-y flowery bottle, as there are several LL). Full on liquorice-anise, but the LL seems nicer and less cloying. They really seem to be almost the same fragrance. However, I did not dare to test on skin, I sprayed it only on a tissue, and now I`m sure I’d not test in perfume, major headache-territory.
I tried this today and I’m not sure what to make of it at all. It’s big on liquorise, and I don’t like liquorise but there is something nice about it, my boyfriend loves it though. I bought Tam Dao and Tom Ford BO instead!
