Tiny Idols has launched Prince & Princess, two new fragrances that presumably honor the upcoming wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton:
Prince ~ "The notes combine to bring a sophisticated yet exuberant scent." The notes for the woody fragrance for men include green mandarin, citrus, ginger, bergamot, wild rose, cedar, nutmeg, woods and musk.
Princess ~ "The notes calumniate [sic? hopefully?] to create a highly wearable light floral blend with refined sensibility." The notes for the floral fragrance for women include green leaves, lemon, aquatic notes, white flowers, tuberose, geranium, ylang ylang, cloves, woods and musk.
Tiny Idols Prince and Princess are available in 28 ml Eau de Toilette, £10 each. They can be found now at The Perfume Shop in the UK. (via theperfumeshop)
Those things are horribly ugly and a little freaky looking.
The lack of mouths is disconcerting…
My thought exactly. They look like they’ve had their voices stolen away by a demon from Buffy the Vampire.
Vampire Slayer. Maybe they got me, too.
Heh – I immediately thought of the cheerleader with no mouth from S.1. If these were Buffy and the gang I would buy them.
That said, I think this is one of the better Royal Wedding souvenirs out there. I have a few Harajuku girls that are okay. Sunshine Cutie Lil’ Angel is a really nice vanilla-lemon.
Oh please let someone contact Joss about this possibility! 🙂
I can just smell the geeky Xander scent for men, ooh, and Faith would be “bad girl”-ish! Seems like something Smell Bent could tackle! . . .
Perhaps it’s a comment about the young royals being helpless pawns without a voice…
If not helpless, they certainly look hapless!
wth? is she in her pajamas? These look silly. Do they hate Kate Middleton? She seems like a nice girl – why would they calumniate her fragrance? Inquiring minds…
xo
Thanks for the first good laugh I’ve had all day! 🙂
I am still puzzling over the calumniate. Maybe it’s meant to be a joke?
Do they mean culminate? It is still a weird word choice, but almost makes sense.
I’m on your side: I stared at it for a minute before I decided it had to be “culminate”, which is not used correctly but still makes a degree of sense in the context–a lot better than “calumniate”.
And yes, the bottles are just horrible, and yes, they are a clear rip-off of the Gwen Stefani bottles. And I’ll go further and assume that the scents within are no better: they sound like standard-issue drugstore scents, and at that price they pretty much have to be from a large unlabelled vat at Firmenich or IFF.
I was talking to a British customer at work the other day who said that most people in the UK are not especially thrilled about the upcoming wedding, what the economic situation and all. Still, there will always be monarchists. There are certainly enough of them in Canada.
I think it’s supposed to be a white version of that sheer dress she wore in the fashion show. Originally black with blue undies, it looked like this white one. Horrid bottles!!
Good call on the outfit. The doll’s dress is as confusing as the real one was.
LOL. I actually had to look up calumniate and now I’m more confused than when I read the ad copy to begin with!
But yea. The bottle design, the ad copy, just terribly tasteless. =/
upon first glance, i thought these were new harajuku lovers scents. the resemblance is uncanny.
They are not the first to copy the bottle design, but yes.
ooh, color me intrigued. who else has drawn inspiration from HL?
Here’s one:

I hope their marriage will be more tasteful then these awful bottles!
LOL…yes, one would hope!
This concept, this product? sic? hopefully? indeed.
Gwen, call your lawyer!!
They forgot to make Prince William blad.
I mean ‘bald’ . 😀
Or you were thinking “bland”.
The scent sounds bland enough!
she looks like she is in an underskirt and bra with a nurse’s cap on her head. and maybe it is “consummate”, like “the royal marriage has been consummated”
Weird, ugly bottles. Weird, ugly copy. Weird notes in the scents too, if you ask me. Oh well – I gues it’s refreshing to read about something here that I DON’T want!
Ugh! anything for a buck – eh?
To display my Star Trek nerdiness, they remind me of an episode of the original show. The guest villain (who had special powers) became angry at the designated yeoman (a woman) to die in the show and took away her face. I guess he was only angry enough at these two to take their mouths.
LOL!! I remember that one!! omg–you’re right!
hmmm…maybe he should have been a little MORE mad and removed the entire doll….
Creepy! The shape of the bottle base and even the font are EXACTLY like Harajuku Lovers (HL), so I don’t think they are ripping them off –they must have an agreement with the same company?? And I know what the HL bottles look like, because I have one — I couldn’t resist the one with an Afro 🙂
OK, I checked up close. They are not exactly the same. Well, my lunch break — spent doing VERY important things — is almost over.
I think they’re kinda cute.
everyone is going crazy over the royal wedding here in the UK.
people are planning street parties and Union Jack banners are flying off the shelves in supermarkets, I don’t get what the big deal is. everything has to have the Union Jack or the couple’s faces on 😐 .
yeah sure it’s a big event but all you have to do is read about it in the paper the next day, the only thing I’m interested in is what Kate’s dress is like lol.
I looked on the Perfume Shop’s website and they have changed “calumniate” to “cumulate”. Which sorta makes more sense, although still sounds pretty clumsy to me. Nevertheless, I am glad I learned a new word today!
The fragrances look awful, sound bland, but will probably sell quite well, unfortunately. With regards to the wedding, myself and my friends are excited about it for the sole reason that we get the day off work. Not too shabby! Other than that, nobody seems to be really excited about it and I would agree with Owen, that I don’t get what the big deal is!
Yeah…that is only a minor improvement in wording!
