Can anyone tell me about the Madagascar scent? I’ve heard it is pretty nice! Sicilia sounds like a great one for spring!

Madagascar is a very light, very pretty vanilla. Very nice in warm weather.

Not sure anyone’s still checking this a day later, but as I spent all day yesterday on planes and in airports (agh! 6 inches of snow in Mpls. when I flew out!). . .

I just thought I’d say it’s a shame that all the associations most people have with Madagascar are vanilla and lemurs! I lived there for about 4 months nearly a decade ago. What does 5:40 pm smell like in Madagascar? Not vanilla, I’m afraid. . .I would say the notes should include rum, smoke from charcoal stoves, marine air, tropical flowers, slightly salty skin, maybe Zebu brochettes (seared beef), and other savory gormande scents (ginger, garlic, and hot peppers are common). Oh, and rice. At the time, Mcar had the highest per capita rice consumption of any country in the world, about 5 pounds per person per day. Well, I’d buy that scent, anyway!

My thoughts exactly! whenever they write Cuba or Havana, they miss by mile, because they “forget” to add smell of tyre rubber, asphalth and gasoline to rhum, burnt sugar and tropical flowers.

The bottle is not exactly like the Prada or Prada Intense bottles but very similar. They added a curve to it which is very unique and appealing.

I always like Kenzo scents (although I’m biased and live in Jungle so maybe my taste is insane.) I’m looking forward to trying this one, even if it is the complete opposite of my usual taste.

I’ll probably never see it, but I’ll certainly try it if I do.

I love the names and the bottles, both. There’s somethign so wonderfully SPECIFIC about the names!

Yes. Some other company did the same thing…a time and place. Italian Olfactive something or another. Now I can’t remember who did it first.

I really admire Kenzo for the risks they take in some of their perfumes. I like but don’t adore Jungle, Tiger, and Elephant as juices, but the bottles are incredible and I adore them.

I’ll be giving this trio at try. Liking this Sicilia bottle, for sure.

Let’s see … a light fresh-fruity thing that will be a big hit in the Asian market?

Typically, I don’t usually care for Italian-type fragrances…too citrussy and herbaceous for me. But, seeing as this is Kenzo, it might be fun for the summer. Not sure if I’ll get to try it, but if it’s in front of me, I’ll give it a sniff 🙂

Love the bottle! I want to try it if only to see whether it evokes Sicilia at midmorning. It sounds like it might be bright and citrussy.

I’m loving the bottle too. I can’t remember seeing any of these in Duty Free, but I’ll hunt them down next time. The Madagascar sounds lovely.

Last Spring I owned the Madagasscar scent.
To me it was a simple green vanilla. It starts quite mossy and turns in a sweet interesting way. It was very close to the skin.
It was a light fragrance for everyday Spring/summer weather.

This sounds nice, I would try it, if it comes to a Sephora near me. The grapefruit note does make me a bit nervous though.
