What is it: I have 2 complete sets (each set is 5 fragrances) of solid perfume compacts for the Le Labo + Anthropologie line. Two winners (from anywhere in the world) will get 1 set each.
How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment telling us either a) your favorite Le Labo fragrance or b) your favorite thing about Anthropologie or c) your favorite chocolate bar or d) the last good book you read. Be sure to use the “Post a comment” box; do not reply to another comment! Replies to comments will be deleted.
The contest will be open until noon Eastern time on Sunday, and I’ll announce the winner next week.
The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.
I’m nor sure whether it counts as a chocolate ‘bar’ but I am particularly partial to (i.e. they are like crack to me) Terry’s Chocolate Oranges. There is nothing quite like smashing one against a hard surface and eating ALL of the segments and the core in the middle.
I’m going to have to go buy one now 🙁
What an awesome give away! My favorite thing about Anthropologie is the window displays at there stores. So artistic and eye catching!
The last good book I read was Angelology. And the chocolate was by a Slovenian artisanry, 50% dark chocolate with cinammon and clove. Yummy. 🙂
The last good book I read was The Help, it took me a long time to move up the library waiting list for this one but so worth it!
favorite Le Labo fragrance : Labdanum 18. Nothing compares to it. This is the scent that when I wear it, older men approach me and ask me where I’m from, and younger men approach me to breath in deeply. 😀
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Rose 31.
Thanks!
My favorite chocolate bar is Chocolove Ginger Crystallized in Dark Chocolate – heaven!
What a generous giveaway…please enter me and you have permission to use my email address in my reader account.
The last really good book I read was Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer. The story line was so unexpected and captivating. I haven’t felt emotions like that from reading in a long time.
Oh yay this is one of the few contests which isn’t restricted just to the US! =D Joy joy joy!
I know the instructions say answer EITHER of the questions, but I can’t help but answer all of them:
a) Poive 23
b) The best thing about Anthropologie for me is that they don’t stock men’s clothes and this helps to save me from splurging more on clothes! (I have a horrible tendency to buy on impulse. Bugger that.)
c) Favourite chocolate bar is strictly speaking not a bar but rather, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups! How can anyone resist…
d) Last good book I read was The Reason of Things by A.C. Grayling – good ol’ practical and applicable philosophy for everyday issues we face in life.
My favorite chocolate bar is the Ritter Sport Dark Chocolate Marzipan bar. Let’s just say that storage is not a problem…
I tried a few scents from this line last week, thought Belle du Soir was gorgeous.
d) the last GREAT book I read was a short story collection called “Delicate Edible Birds” by Lauren Groff. Several friends are getting this for the holidays this year.
Thank you for the giveaway, Robin!
My fav Le Labo fragrance is Rose 31, but I’ve not smelled most of the line. My fav thing about Anthroplogie is their general sense of style for both clothes and home furnishings. Although I can’t afford most of it, or, I’d rather spend that $$ on fragrances! And the last book I read is “The Book of the Dead: Lives of the Justly Famous and Undeservedly Obscure”, which was just a lot of fun and very interesting. And I read the fine print, and you can use my email to contact me, etc etc…. Thanks!
My favourite chocolate bar is Lindt Excellence 70% Dark Cocoa. I love it because it’s not sweet nor bitter. It’s quite “buttery” indeed. I love it while I’m drinking tea or coffee.
The last good book I have read is Ken Follett “The Hammer of Eden”. Well, I don’t know if it’s actually good, but I couldn’t put it down. It’s really entertaining.
I would like to try Le Labo + Anthropologie line. Thanks for this generous drawing.
The last good book I read was ‘Burning Bright’ by Tracy Chevalier, she’s one of my favorite authors.
You have my permission to use the email address in my user acct. if I win.
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Patchouli 24.
Last good book I read was Patti Smith’s Just Kids. My favorite LeLabo is Oud. Fav chocolate bar is Vosges’ Barcelona Bart.
Right now, I’m reading Lin Yutang’s Famous Chinese Short Stories and I’m rather enjoying it. I love Chinese culture and I love short stories. Plus, a leather-bound copy was floating around my local discount book store for three bucks, so not a hard decision. ;D
Also, If you haven’t tried Vosage’s new Black Salt Caramel bar, I recommend it. Just don’t try it in the car.
My favorite Le Labo is Patchouli 24: it starts off kind of freaky but ends up cozy. You have my permission to use the email address in my user acct. if I win.
The last good book I read was the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo of the trilogy of Stieg Larsson.
Las Book I read is An Ocean Apart by Lensey Namioka. Favorite chocolate bar is Almond Joy. I have not yet tried Le Labo scents:-(
d) Female Chauvinist Pigs
Sadly, i have only tried 1 Le labo fragrance to date, and it was well done, but didnt stand out from other well done fragrances in the same vein. It was Bergamote 22. I definitely want to try the Oud, Vetyver, and Rose fragrances from this line.
My favorite Le Labo is Labdanum 18. And the last good book I read was Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris. Thanks for offering this contest.
The last great book I read was “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks.” Absolutely fascinating. (You have permission to use the email address in my account. Just in case you needed to know that 😉
My favorite Le Labo scent is Rose 31. I simply love the sexy spicy ambiguity of the Rose. It is a neck nuzzler scent for sure!
The last good book I read is John S. Wilkins _Species: A History of the Idea_ which traces the category/idea of “species” from Plato to post-Darwin scientists.
My favorite Le Labo scent is Vanille 44. Favorite chocolate bar is the Vosges one with Goji berries (I blame this blog–I hadn’t even heard of the brand before it was mentioned here). Last good book was “The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet.”
The last good book I read – Girl with the dragon tattoo.
a) Have still only tried one Le Labo scent (Fleurs d’Oranger to the nth power of pi, or whatever it is), but just snagged a small unsniffed decant of Aldehyde 44 since I am, of course, the AldeHo, and that one gets generally good reviews.
b) Am totally unfamiliar with Anthropologie; we don’t get those out here in the sticks.
c) With my two older kids, finished up another lovely bar of fireworks-in-the-mouth Chuao Firecracker.
d) Incendiary by Chris Cleave. (Disturbing, graphic, painful, full of unpleasant characters – but an excellent book nonetheless.) And just last night, picked up HP and the Deathly Hollows to reread it before I take my 15yo daughter to see the film next week. The current discussion she and I are having: Where in the story will the Part 1 movie end? Where SHOULD it end, and why?
Oh, and am adding furiously to my Reading List.
Likewise to my Chocolates to Try List.
The last good book I read was River Theives by Michael Crummey. It’s about the last living remnants of the Beothuk culture (the First Nations of Newfoundland) and the families of Newfoundland settlers moving in. Not a happy book, and not quite as good as his newer Galore novel, but it was a good read.
The last good book (really good):
Temeraire, His Majesty´s Dragon. By Naomi Novik.
I am not a fan of fantasy novels, but this novel “had me at hello” 🙂
(and if I win now I have a Miami Address where you can ship those to!) 🙂
Haven’t tried ANY Le Labos – would love to try these. Thanks for the draw, Robin!
As to the other questions – current favorite chocolate bars are Lindt 70% and Dagoba Xocolatl. I’ve been looking around for a good dark chocolate espresso bar and haven’t come up with anything. Need to keep searching.
Last great book I read? Well, I have to say, I’ve been disappointed in my book choices over the past months. Sort of made me turn off of reading for awhile. I go in spurts. I’d have to say the best out of the bunch were The Help and Chandler Burr’s The Emperor of Scent (which I found as a fascinating commentary on the arrogance of the scientific world to dismiss any evidence that may poke holes in their pet theories – mainly LT’s fight to get his theory “heard” and accepted. Very eye opening! Go LT!!!!).
(OK, long post, sorry!) 🙂
I bought Le Labo Neroli & liked it for a while then gave it away . I love Ghirardelli 72% dark chocolate .
My favorite chocolate bar: Cadbury Fruit and Nut. Mmmmm! Nutritious and so tasty!
As for the last good novel I’ve read, for the past few weeks I’ve been devouring Dorothy Sayers’ Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries. So far “Strong Poison” has been my favorite.
Please enter me in the draw, and thank you! And of course you have permission to use the e-mail address in my user account.
Last good book: David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas.
I kind of lose my sense of organization in an Anthropologie. I can talk myself into something I’ll wear once, happily, but a bit uneasily.
But books? Chocoalate? Le Labo? In.
Robin,
Thank you again for such fabulous draw.
picks today:
a) Le Labo Iris 39
b) Their Novel Collection Tea Series Perfumes
c) Vosges Chocolate -Goji Berry & Pink Sea Salt…awesome treat..great to see Vosges has its fans here;)
d) Water for Elephants….anything about the circus makes a great book.
You have permission to use the email address in my reader account to contact me
a) haven’t tried any! (but very curious about the vanilla 44, poivre 23, and patchouli 24)
b) haven’t tried any
c) two great discoveries: dark chocolate with dried apricots from Blondel and a Tanzania grand cru criollo 75% from Durig – both two wonderful indie chocolate ateliers based in Lausanne.
d) Death of a Red Heroine, Qiu Xiaolong: an interesting glimpse of China 10 ys before the turn of the millenium… with murders, politics and mouthwatering chinese cooking in the background!
I’ve always wanted to try more Le Labo fragrances! They look so cool and have very interesting concepts, but so far I’ve only been able to get my hands on an Oud 27 sample. It was really nice, so I have great expectations for the rest of the line.
As for the other fun questions, my favorite chocolate bar is a gorgeous Chocolove flavor: 55% cocoa with sea salt and almonds. Yum. 😀 And the last good novel I read was The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, an absolutely amazing and inventive fantasy novel. If anyone reading this likes fantasy and hasn’t read it yet, I highly recommend it.
I’m a penny pincher, so my favorite chocolate bar is the 3 pack of dark chocolate bars at Trader Joe’s for about $1.60. And they’re small enough that you don’t feel like a total glutton!
I love the photo and art layouts in the Anthropologie catalogues. Each page is a beautiful work of art, such a visual pleasure to go through.
My favorite Le Labo Scent is Rose 31.
The packaging looks great. Poudre d’Orient sounds like my kind of thing.
I like Neroli 36…but have heard that Vanilla 44 is fabulous!
The only LL I’ve tried is Bergamote and I’d love to try more!
I actually used to like Anthroplogie so much more – they opened one of their first stores on the Main Line outside of Philly and I used to be on the road every week in that area and stop in frequently. They were unique and funky and Bohemian and I still have some home items and some clothing of theirs from about 20+ years ago. They still have a Bohemian vibe – but it’s geared a little younger now – just right for my daughter.
My favorite chocolate lately is not a bar, but little bon-bons from Germany called Mozart Kugeln. Delicious.
The last book I read was called ‘The Girl Who Chased The Moon and it was quite frivolous and sweet – sort of fairy tale-ish, but I enjoyed it on a long train ride.
I have an unnecessary, occasionally requited love for Anthropologie. I’m wearing an Anthropologie sweater right now (bought on sale of course). It’s like a museum for the kind of rich, delicate girl-woman I will never be. And I highly recommend Ritter Sport Rum-Trauben-Nuss (rum raisin with nuts?) as a rich accompaniment to a not-quite-twee Anthropologie sweater and a copy of Joseph O’Neill’s “Netherland” – and Le Labo Labdanum 18.
(You have permission to use the email address in my reader account to contact me.)
The best book I read recently was Freedom by Jonathan Franzen.
I have only dreamed of trying the Le Labo scents so far.
My favorite chocolate bar this week is the Lindt Excellence 70%
Dark Chocolate with Fleur de Sel. Though when I can find it
my uber favorite is a dark chocolate covered marzipan from a
German company. I can’t remember the name but it comes in a
dark red wrapper. Thanks for the Friday fun.
My favorite Le Labo is Patchouli 24. Please enter my name in the draw!!
Thanks!
I really enjoyed reading Loving Frank: A Novel by Nancy Horan.
I haven’t sniffed the Le Labo line but based on the comments and descriptions I am reading I am eager to try them soon!
I’m as fickle with favorite chocolate bars as I am with favorite fragrances, however, right now I’m obsessed with the Salty-Sweet chocolate bars from Charles Chocolates. Milk chocolate with carmelized cashews and sea salt, dark chocolate with carmelized hazelnuts and sea salt, dark chocolate with pecans, dried cherries and sea salt. They are so good, I call them “evil.” See:
http://www.charleschocolates.com/online-store/chocolate-bars
Hi, I love the giveaways here! The last good book I’ve read was “The Fig Eater” by Jody Shields – so atmospheric, I almost felt like I was in the turn-of-century Vienna myself!
I’m a sucker for LL Jasmine… Aaah. 🙂 And I love how Anthropologie always has interesting twists on their clothes. Thank you so much for the chance to win!
The last good book I read was Pride & Prejudice. I love me some Mr. Darcy.
I also love Anthropologie. At the store in downtown Seattle they have a big staircase. Of course, I manage to fall while going UP the staircase! Multiple Anthropologie sales associates came running to help me out, haha. They were so nice. I apologize that I’m not quite as smooth and classy as the clothing. 😉
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Patchouli 24 Followed by the Tuberose (only in NYC). You have my permission to use my email reader account to contact me. Great giveaway good luck to all!
Thank you for the chance to enter the draw. My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Iris 39.
What I love about anthropologie…red bowls, the aloha candle, the bright colors…oh so much…did I say the red bowls…love them.
My favorite recent read is The Baroque Cycle by Neal Stephenson. 🙂 I would love to enter the draw!
Ah Robin, my favorite chocolate bar is Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Bar. Terribly expensive, terribly sinful, terribly scrumptious! Next in line is Godiva Salted Caramel Bar.
The last good book: Blood Detective by Dan Waddell (I inhale mysteries as often as I inhale chocolate – preferably together)
Have a safe and stress free holiday next week everyone!
Great contest, and these book comments have increased by reading list tremendously!
The only Le Labo I’ve tried is Labdanum 18, which I liked very much. The book I’m currently reading is “The Warmth of Other Suns” by Isabel Wilkerson which is about the migration of African-Americans from South to the North in the mid-20th century. It’s very well-written and tells an epic story illustrated by the life stories of 3 people who were part of the migration.
I really love the layout of the Anthropologie store. Also, they have amazing sales.
Favorite book? Thats a hard one…I’m currently reading Kelly Cutrone…If You Have to Cry, Go Outside.
Good luck everyone!
thanks robin
never tried anything from le labo yet so im interested in this.. am still waiting for the line to come to singapore..
i am currently into art and one of the last good books i’ve read is “Drawing from Within”.. ironically i dont consider it a ‘how to’ book but it’s a good inspirational book on art and creativity..
am currently reading “Van Gogh on Art and Artists (Letters to Emile Bernard)”, very interesting and emotional read about the man ‘who is’ the artist..
I discovered Le Labo on my first trip to Barney’s when i was 19 and, along with Serge Lutens, was my first introduction into niche fragrances… I was immediately smitten with the line…. As much as i love Frederic Malle now, i almost felt like an imposter wearing them at that time … Since then I have owned 3 Le Labo Fragrances, my favorite having to be the Vanille 44, which i had purchased when they were available at all of their counters for a limited time… the other 2 are Bergamote 22 and Tuberuese 40, and I also bought a bottle of Neroli 36 for my mother, which I refill it for her every year…..
Sounds great!
My favorite chocolate bar is Lindt Excellence Fleur de Sel. Excellent indeed! (Last good read was Lush Life)
I have three of the Le Labo’s: Iris 39, Oud 27, and Rose 31. I haven’t smelled any others from LL, and Rose 31 is hands down my favorite of those three, and also happens to be one of my favorite in my entire collection!
Also, I’ve been getting caught up on 25 years of Terry Pratchett (not in any order), and he’s flippin’ hilarious!
You have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact me 🙂
Hi all and happy Friday
a) My favorite Le Labo is Iris 39 b) My favorite thing about Anthropologie is the clothes c) Fave chocolate bar is Dagoba, xocolatl (dark chocolate with cinnamon and chilis) d) the last good book I read was “A Long Fatal Love Chase”, just finished it. Great read!
My favorite thing about Anthropologie are their beautiful perfume bottles that I use to put my 10ml perfumes in. They look elegant and expensive, but are very reasonable. I have two so far.
Dagoba dark chocolate Eclipse bar.
Trail of Crumbs by Kim Sunee which mentions Samsara and Egoiste!
Hi Robin – thanks for another chance to win something cool!
a) I’ve never tried anything by Le Labo
b) Love the sale section at Anthropologie, because I can’t really afford anything there at regular price
c) Favorite chocolate bar is a tie – Chocolove Almonds and Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate and Chuao Panko bar (thanks to you!)
d) Last good read – The Poisonwood Bible. I know, I’m like 15 years late on that one! Now reading Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn, which I never read for school – fun stuff!
what a nice giveaway to come upon on a blustery Friday morning!
My favorite Le Labo fragrance: Iris 39. Love it!
My favorite chocolate: Recchiuti Fleur de Sel caramels, hands-down
Not much on Anthropoligie – I skew a bit out of their target. But the couple of times I’ve been in I’ve found them to be cheerful, with a fun mix of ‘stuff’
The last good book I read was actually a re-read: I’m in the midst of Dickens’s Dombey and Son.
have a great weekend, all!
xoA
Great givaway, solid perfume is perfect to bring along! My favourite chocolate bar at the moment is Lindt 70% dark with mint, it never fails to pick me up. I can’t name a Le labo favourite yet, but I have been wanting to try Le Labo Oud 23 since I read Kevins top-10 list: saffron and oud are favourite notes and I love woody scents, so I have great hopes and it is on my must-sniff-list.
I just finished the “Hunger Games” series. I liked the first book the best, a fabulous teen heroine. Forget that boring Bella and her whiny, sullen back and forth…give me Katness! Clever, strong, loyal and fierce.
The last book I read is “Becoming Jane Eyre” by Sheila Kohler.
It’s a fictional account of writing and publishing of Jane Eyre and other novels by Bronte sisters. I would not say that this book is groundbreaking or earth shattering, but it was a very pleasant read nonetheless. I felt as if I had a nice leisurely chat with a fellow Jane Eyre lover, exchanging favorite quotes from the book, and exchanging thoughts of where these quotes and twists of plot may have come from.
Favourite LL is a toss-up between Guiac 10 and Poivre 23, which is bad news considering that they’re both city exclusives and uber-spendy. Recently read ‘The Robber Bride’ by Margaret Atwood and loved it. Just finished ‘On a winter’s night a traveller’ by Italo Calvino. Great title, tedious book (at least to me).
How delightful! A draw on these new fragrances at Anthopologie!
Anthropologie is a feast for the senses which is why it is so amazing. Reading currently the book of Romans in the holy bible, wow.
Please enter me in the draw. I did manage to get a sniff, mmmm, of Poudre d’Orient. Nice.
You have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact me 🙂
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Rose 31. Thanks for the contest!
What a great give-away. Thank you. I’ve never tried any Le Labo scents, so, would be very happy to win these. Favorite chocolate: Mo’s Bacon Chocolate Bar—a stocking stuffer from my dearest friend. Not opened for months, then finally one night…well, it was delicious.
I’d have to pick Vanille 44 as my favorite. Love it.
Last good book I read was “Who Will Run the Frog Hospital” – Lorrie Moore FTW!
Nice giveaway! Please enter me in the draw, thanks 🙂
my favorite Le Labo fragrance is rose 31. probably because this is the only one I tried so far…
wish there were a Chocolated Court from where we could order chocolate samples. Looooots of samples 🙂
The latest good book I read was The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo by Larsen.
As to chocolate bars, just give me a good ole Snickers.
Thanks for the draw. My email should work.
I love Riter chocolate!
I would also love those solid perfumes!
Thanks Robin.
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Patchouli 24: smoke, leather and soft cozy vanilla-amber. It’s my winter staple. You have permission to use the e-mail address in my user account if I win! And thanks!
The latest book I read was Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. You have permission to use my email address if I win. Thanks!
mmm. chocolate. I like almost anything from Theo Chocolates!
I’m in! Haven’t had much time to read since I became a mom (unless you want to count those How-to books) and I’m sure I’ve read plenty of great books since these, but the last truly memorable books I re-read was the Lord of the Ring trilogy. Initially read them to prepare for the movie release!
And… Of course, you have my permission to use the e-mail address in my account!
I’m a dark-chocolate lover, but surprisingly I didn’t realize until now the significance of the percentages some bars note on the package (i.e., 70%, 85% cacao). Then I tried a 70% – what a revelation! Don’t remember the brand, but I can see myself going for the hard-core 85% soon! Please do enter me, and you have my permission to use the e-mail address in my account.
Hello, I’d love to join in, my favourite Le Labo scent is Oud 27.
And you have permission to use the e-mail in my reader account.
Thank you
cheers
Safran
I’m a sucker for both Jasmin 17 and Rose 31. The last great book I read was Lush Life by Richard Prince – I literally could not put it down. If you like cop procedurals – and even if you don’t – give it a try!
I love the Ritter Sport Milk Chocolate with Hazelnuts. Mmmmm. Thanks for the giveaway!
I have never tried a Le Labo, but I absolutely love Anthropologie (even though its out of my price range haha). All the clothing is so eclectic and unexpected, very Portland/Northwest in feel.
My fave Le Labo is Iris 39, but I have to admit I haven’t tried that many. Latest book was Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (for the umpteenth time!), now starting The Restaurant at the End of The Universe, again!
Thanks for a fab giveaway, Robin. Should the gods of random selection see fit to choose me, you have permission to use the address in my user account!
1. I have not yet had the chance to try any Le Labo but am very curious about the Labdanum and Patchouli.
2. Anthropologie only j
£&&£) Safari!
Anyway, Anthropologie only just arrived in London but am planning a jaunt in very near future.
3. Favourite chocolate bar is Green & Black’s Maya Gold- dark chocolate spiced with clove, nutmeg and coriander. Mmmmmm
4 recently reread one of my favourite books, Focaults Pendulum by Umberto Eco, and have started the Book Thief by
Reply to this comment
Aaaargghh!
By Markus Zusak, it tells the story of young girl in Germany during the rise the Nazis – the intriguing thing is that it is told from Death’s perspective. Very good so far!
My favourite Le Labo: We don’t get such interesting things here…
Favourite chocolate: the one without calories, that doesn’t melt in my pocket, nutty enough to be crunchy, dark enough to be deep, fluid and sweet enough to cause an orgasm. (still waiting to be invented)
Last good book: ‘Land of the Headless’ by Adam Roberts. A morally profound AND witty work of science fiction. In addition, it held me transfixed ’till the last word!
My favorite Le Labo is Vanille 44 (which I was able to purchase last year when city exclusives were available for a short time … yes, I’m a sucker). But I do like Patchouli 24 as well. Thanks for the fab giveaway, Robin!
I’ve only tried one Le Labo fragrance but quite liked it: Labdanum 18. I’d probably like their Vanille as well but have yet to test it out due to the exclusivity. Hmmm, not really a good answer to the question, so I’ll also say my favorite recent book was White Noise.
I eat a small square of Trader Joe’s 72% Dark Chocolate almost every day. It’s hands down The Best chocolate I have ever had. Oh yes, it’s my birthday today too! I would love some Le Labo to celebrate.
The last good book I read was actually a re-read, a favorite I hadn’t picked up again for years: Murakami’s Hardboiled Wonderland and the End of the World. An amazing surrealistic read.
Favorite Le Labo is Oud 27
Hi again !
My favorite Le Labo is Vanille 44 ! Yummy stuff !
You have permission to use the email address in my reader account to contact me, and it is accurate !
Thanks for the chance to win these !
Best regards ~
Kate
Oh, Anthropologie, how I love thee. Every time I walk into Anthropologie, I imagine ushering out all of the other shoppers, locking the door and just living there forever. (Le Labo and Anthro together- brilliant! I’m eyeing a bottle of Rose 31 for my man for Xmas.)
Favourite Le Labo is Oud 27 🙂
Thank you for this opportunity to try and win 🙂
I love Anthropoligie’s display within the store- cozy and adventurous at the same time! And I love Kit Kat =).
Chuao firecracker is my absolute favorite chocolate bar, I have to hide them from my five year old.
Thank you very much for the opportunity.
*and to cover all bases you have permission to use my email account if I win*
From anywhere in the world ……at last! Hope I’ll see that phrase more often in the future 😉
My favorite Le Labo is Bergamote 22, though I find it more a summer fragrance. Looking forward to visiting their shop in New York next summer when we will spend a week there on holiday.
Rose 31 I’m still getting used to, not such an immediate hit as the Bergamote
Favorite is Tubereuse 40. You have permission to use my e mail.
Haven’t smelled any of the Le Labo stuff so I can’t tell you. My favorite chocolate bar is the one I’m eating at any given moment. 🙂 My email address is correct and you have permission to print/use it for the purpose of announcing me as the winner!
Patchouli 24 is one of my favourite scents. It is a wonderful fragrance – the perfect balance between bright/smoky/charred/warm/musky/sweet! I tend to gravitate towards Green & Blacks milk chocolate, or the butterscotch one…….mmmmmm.
You have permission to use the email in my account, it is correct.
Fingers crossed!
Favorite Le Labo is Patchouli 24; last good books read were the Millenium Trilogy: Girl with the dragon tattoo/girl who played with fire/girl who kicked the hornets nest. I’ve never been in an Anthropologie store – am I too old to go in one? My email is correct and you have my permission to use it if I win
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen. Not the most recent thing I’ve read, but a stand-out.
I’m still a Le Labo virgin as well and this would be awesome! Please enter me in the contest, and you have permission to use the email address in my account if the perfume gods choose to smile their favor down upon me. 😉
Oh, and as plain and unexotic as it was, I very much enjoyed a simple, old-fashioned Snickers bar the other day and forgot how much I like them. They seem to be one of the very few bars whose chocolate doesn’t taste of oily burned cocoa beans lately, which is so depressing! And the last good book I read would probably be the newest in the Game of Thrones series or Dresden Files book, I don’t remember which I read more recently.
My favorite thing about Anthropologie is the interesting fragrances they carry. Although they vary in quality, it’s nice to see something beyond the regular department store selection. My least favorite thing, however, is that they don’t carry men’s clothing! What a shame…
I’d love to try these Le Labo scents–I hope I win!
Favorite Le Labo is Rose 31 which is a shock because I’m not normally a Rose fan. And someone needs to tell me where to find one of those bacon chocolate bars!!
My favorite chocolate bar is Ghirardelli’s milk chocolate with caramel, but Dagoba’s chai bar is a close second!
Oh this is so fun. I was in Anthropologie the other day and I made it a point to seek out the Le Labo frags as I had read about their intorduction here on NST a few weeks ago.
I want to answer all the questions, but you can never go wrong with Chocolate. Dagoba has a “lavender blueberry bar” that is so lovely. When I’m in need a “fix” this bar does me no wrong. I would love to savor this chocolate bar while sniffing away at my arm that is swathed in my newly-won Le Labo fragrances! Yeah.
Lovely choices! the last good book I read was Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett. The chocolate of the moment would have to be Dove milk chocolate with fig bits.
You have permission to use the email address in my account info.
Thanks for treating us to regular contests!
I love the unique and delightful art in the Anthropologie stores. I want to go home and decorate my house with each changed scene! My current favorite chocolate bar is anything with caramel! you have my permission to use my email if I win the draw.
My favorite by Le Labo? From the ones I’ve tried so far, I thought Patchouli 24 was really unusual, smoky and rough. Not your everyday scent but a good one for very cold winter days! 🙂
oh, wow, I hope I win this time!!
Oud 27 is my favorite Le Labo fragrance

a) I have never had the opportunity to sniff a Le Labo fragrance, so I don’t have a favorite…yet *overly exagerated wink* 🙂
b) My favorite thing about Anthropologie is that they carry high quality brands I cannot find anywhere else. I’m so tired of department stores that all look the same.
c) Vosges Black Pearl Bar, although really any chocolate currently in my possession would qualify as a favorite. Also , it’s not a bar, but Starbucks Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate is heavenly.
d) Dear American Airlines. I laughed, cried, smiled, and felt my heart sink all in one sitting.
Hello and thanks for the giveaway. My most recently completed good book was McTeague by Frank Norris (1899)
Cool – a giveaway! Favourite Le Labo fragrance for me, hands down, Patchouli 24. Love that weird thing.
a) Oud 27 hands down, b) the fact that there are 3 Anthropologie stores within reasonable driving distance of my town, c) Lindt Pistache, and d) JUST KIDS by newly-honored National Book Award winner Patti Smith. You have my permission to use the email address from my account if I win. Thanks for this awesome offer , Robin!
My favorite Le Labo is Labdanum 18. I really like some of the tableware that Anthropologie carries. My favorite chocolate bar is whatever dark I have on hand. And just finished ‘Jane and the Unpleasantness at Scargrave Manor’ by Stephanie Barron — great for Jane Austen fans!!
You have my permission etc. ….. And thanks for doing these giveaways!!
My absolute, 100% favorite fragrance in the world right now is Le Labo Oud 27. I simply cannot get enough of it, and it is the sole Christmas present request I have this year (I need the big bottle). I lik to use it only at night, though I’m not sure why. If this is to be the one contest I win from NST, I would shed oud scented tears.
My favorite Le Labo is Patchouli 24.
The last *great* book I read was A High Wind in Jamaica by Richard Hughes. I don’t think I’ve smelled any Le Labos yet — even decants are a bit out of my range!
The last good book I read was, I think, the Odyssey. That sounds awfully pretentious, but it’s true. I’ve tried very few Le Labos, but Patchouli 24 is one I liked. It’s on my “someday” list, but that’s a long list…
Poivre 23 is my soulmate fragrance. The one I want to have with me if my house is on fire.
Last good book I read was the short story collection by Miranda July: No One Belongs Here More Than You. (a lovely and strange book)
(you have permission to use my email address)
Oooh…so many questions…I enjoy Le Labo Neroli 36 and Jasmin 17, and probably others if I could find them.. Anthropologie is fun to wander around in, sniffing and browsing, and the price range always puts something tempting within my reach. There’s such a thing as a bad chocolate bar? The last good book I read was the new history of Chanel No. 5, the first book I bought for my Kindle. And it’s Friday!!!
I’m crazy about the Poudre d’Orient from the La Labo and Anthro collaboration!
And my favorite chocolate bar is Whittaker’s Coconut (New Zealand).
What a fun contest! Thank you for opening up this one to Canadians 🙂
The best book I read recently was “A Reliable Wife” by Robert Goolrick. It’s a a romance with a gothic/Shakespearean feel. It’s very well written and different from anything I have read recently. Online reviews compare it to Rebecca (I haven’t read that one yet)
My favorite thing about the Anthropologie store is that all of their goods are really unique. I find the different soaps and scents that they offer is truly in a class of their own. I would love to be the winner of one of these sets. If I win, you have permission to use my email address. Thanks!
This Russian poet can still try this brand, and wants. All hope for you.)) My favorite chocolate? Black. The book I’ve just been reading Katherine van Spenkeren “A Brief History of American Literature”
Favorite Le Labo? That’s easy: Rose 31!
Please enter me in the contest. 🙂
My favourite thing about Anthropologie their textiles. I love the colours and the prints!
The last good book I read was Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It’s a very thought provoking book! And my favorite chocolate would be Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate with Raspberry Filling.
Thank you for the great opportunity!
My favorite chocolate bar is Mo’s Mike Chocolate Bacon from Vosges. The dark chocolate one is really excellent too. I have to admit the contest turned me from a lurker to a commenter.
I’ve only ever tried one Le Labo scent, Labdanum 18, and it was a complete and utter atrocity on me, so I guess it’s fair to say that I don’t have a favourite. On the other hand, I just finished reading that new Daily Show book, Earth (The Book). Pretty funny.
The last good book I read was Prime time by Joan Collins. Seriously fun!!
😉
I have never smelt any Le Labo scents and have been too busy to read any books lately BUT chocolate is a given- I have just taken a liking to Cadbury Bar of Plenty macadamia and honey roasted cashews.

Hi Robin, I’ve just found your fabulous blog… wonderful
This is a gorgeous giveaway , especially for a curious perfumoholic like me 🙂
I’ll try to answer all questions, since this price deserves this in my opinion 😉
1. I’m sorry to say that I’ve not tried any Le Labo perfumes… yet… but I am sooo curious 🙂
2. don’t know Anthropologie either… 🙁 *curious*
3. my very favourite chocolate bar was made for me by a swiss chocolate online shop, where you can mix your own and they make ist. It was quite expensive, but worth every crumb! Best milk chocolate with peanut butter in, blood orange crispies and honey crispies around mini marshmallows… yummy!
3 the best book, still not all finished but I am reading it in two and a half languages (16th and 19th century english, German and italian)… is “Il Cortegiano”, The Book of the Courtier from 16th century writer Baldassare Castiglione.
A wonderful time machine for me into a court of the Italian Renaissance.
Of course you can use the address in my user account!
Greetings from far away , Moni
P.S. In my home town Berlin something great is often called “dufte” which comes from Duft, fragrance, meaning something like fragrant. So your wonderful blog can in my eyes only described in all points as dufte… :-))
P.P.S.: Anyway… my very new perfume blog (in German):
http://duftwelten.blogspot.com
Would love to try these… last great book I read (still reading it actually) is Bill Bryson’s “At Home – A Short History of Private Life”. He is so good at filling your head with interesting facts without making the reading feel like hard work. It’s fascinating if you’re interesting in finding out how domestic life evolved.
I love Anthropologie’s selection of plates. They make great gifts when presenting cookies during the holidays. I’ve also bought vases there when taking flowers to sick friends!
My favorite thing about Anthropologie is getting their lovely catalogs in the mail. They always have such beautiful photography. Unfortunately I usually can’t pull off their clothing. Just not my style, I guess.
Favorite chocolate: anything by Vosges, especially if it has salt in it.
Le Labo: I’m embarrassed to admit I haven’t sampled any of that line. It may be time!
Thanks to everyone for sharing their reading selections!
Favorite chocolate bar: Cadbury Dairy Milk. It’s sweet, simple, and takes care of those pesky chocolate cravings I get once a month! 😀
Hmm… favorite chocolate bar? I’m a sucker for a Ritter Sport with Hazelnuts.
Favorite Le Labo scent? Le Labo Rose 31.
And favorite thing? Winning… please pick me.
Read The Many Aspects of Mobile Home Living again, and probably liked the novel more than the first time around.
My favourite chocolate is toblerone dark, i just love the texture with all those nougat pieces, and the book that I am about to finish is now by Orhan Pamuk..
thanks for the opportunity!
Sorry, the book is called Snow : )
My favorite chocolate bars are unabashedly commercial – 100 Grand or Milky Way Midnight. To me, they’re the perfect mix of sweet and chewy.
The last good book I’ve read is a re-read of A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. I love Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.
Thanks for another giveaway!
Would be nice to try something that I cannot find here where I live in Canada.
My favourite chocolate bar is Schoc’s lime and chili. The lime perfect.
I’d love to have the chance to try these if you’d please enter me in the contest. The closest Anthropologie store is 350 miles away so I don’t get to visit them often, but I love to browse the wide variety of goods they have displayed so attractively 🙂 . My favorite regular LeLabo fragrance is Patchouli24, but I haven’t tried any of these.
The last good book I read was Bard by Morgan Llywelyn. It’s hard to choose between chocolates, but today I’m craving Ice Cubes. Creamy, nummy, want some! 😀
My favorite Le Labo is Vetiver 46. The last good book I read was Mating by Norman Rush. Cheers.
Last good book I’ve read was “Eyeless in Gaza” by Aldous Huxley. I would love to try out Le Labo fragrances since I haven’t got a chance to test them yet. I’m a constant reader of your blog from about and year now, maybe more.I enjoy every smell of it.:) Hugs!
Favorite LeLabo is Rose 31!
Favorite chocolate bar is Alter Eco Dark Chocolate Velvet.
Been enjoying all my reading lately.
Nothing fits me at Anthropologie but it’s a cool store.
You may use the email addy in my account.
@ Bear……I loved A Prayer for Owen Meany, one of my favorites.
@ Robin, currently reading Saturday by Ian McEwan (author of Atonement); a MilkWay chocolate bar satisfies me everytime; I’ve just sampled Le Labo’s Oud 27; and love a spritz of Hypnotic Poison right before going to bed for a good night’s sleep…………
By all means, please use my email address and make me your winner!
The last book I read was Once is not enough by Jaqueline Susann it was a delightfully naughty read My favorite chocolate bar is Cadbury Milk chocolate with fruit and nuts simply yummy :} Please enter me in the draw. Thanks again
I love Snickers. The combo of caramel, peanuts, and nougat covered in chocolate is sooo heavenly!
Hi Robin, thanks for the opportunity..
1) no favorite Le Labo….yet. I’ve not had the opportunity to try any.
2) can’t say what my favorite part of Anthropologie is – we don’t have them here in my little part of Texas
3) favorite chocolate is Ghirardelli’s Raspberry and Dark Chocolate squares. Very, very yummy.
4) best book(s) lately – The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played With Fire. I just got The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest for my birthday, so I can’t wait to dig into that one!
thanks for the non-US draw
my favorite chololate bar is Lindt 70% dark
my last great book is P.Beagle’s “Return”
Thank you for hosting the draw!! 🙂
Hmm… The last great book I read was The Fellowship of the Ring, by J.R.R. Tolkien 🙂
I have not tried any of the Le Labo line, even though I have several on my To Sample list. I live in a small town, with no Anthropologies around, but I do enjoy perusing the catalog. My favorite chocolate bar is Chocolove Orange Peel (one of the few chocolate lines available in said small town). We have a wonderful library, though. I recently read The Help by Katherine Stockett, which was wonderful, as others have mentioned. I also belatedly read Gap Creek by Robert Lee Morgan and enjoyed it as well.
The last good book I read was The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake. Anthropologie has some cute kimono dresses, but they never fit quite right on me.
Would love the chance to try Labo’s fragrances for Anthropologie. The last book I read was The Prince Of Tides by Pat Conroy.
I’ve never had a chance to smell a Le Labo scent, my favorite thing about Anthropologie is that the store is so softly colorful, best chocolate bar ever is the Naga (milk, curry and coconut) from Vosges, and my current favorite is Hitch-22.
Oh, exciting draw! I am so interested in these solids!
My favorite thing about Anthropologie is that it is like a well curated collection, but of things you could actually own. Everything is quirky in its own way but not weird, never boring, always interesting. I guess it reflects actual artistic taste on the part of the buyers, not just a question of lowest common denominator appeasement. I love shopping there – I bought my couch right off the floor at the local Anthropologie!
My favorite thing about Anthropologie is their overall style and aesthetic. And of course I love that they carry great perfumes and do some interesting collaborations.
So much chocolate, so little time! One favourite is Haighs chocolate frogs, puts Freddos to shame.
Recently started reading Susan Hills “Simon Serrailler” series- best described as literary crime, I think. Read all 5 novels over a period of a few weeks. Currently reading “Started Early, Took My Dog” by Kate Atkinson- great stuff!
My favorite Le Labo fragrance is Labdanum 18.
my favorite le labo frag is rose 31- I love the dirtiness that the cumin adds to the rose!
The last good book I read was Shake Hands With the Devil by General Romeo Dallaire. It is a first hand account of the 1994 Rwandan Genocide written from the perspective of the Force Commander of the UN Peacekeeping mission. It is a true eye opener.
The thing I love most about Anthropology is the femininity of their clothing. There is always some sort of special retro/vintage touch to the designs and I love the detail.
I don’t have a favorite chocolate bar, but my favorite chocolate of the moment is salted chocolate truffles, courtesy of a recipe by Ree Drummond, posted on her blog “The Pioneer Woman Cooks”. Ree is very endearing, I recommend her blog.
Thanks Robin! My email addy is yours for the taking.
I love Ferrero Rocher chocolate confections. Yum!
My favourite Le Labo fragrance is Rose 31!!
I love Baci chocolate! It’s absolutely divine!
My favorite thing about Anthro- the fragrances, of course! And the cute decor 🙂
My favourite thing about Le Labo? The Rose 31 fragrance, of course. I think it’s classic example of niche perfumery. Take the classic rose, spice it up, and turn it into a masculine fragrance that men love and women borrow.
Favorite chocolate bar is either Ghirardelli’s bittersweet or Perugina’s classic dark chocolate 🙂
Anthropologie stores are a bit of a distance from my home, and as much as I love he way they merchandise, I equally love their catalogs (my “store away from store”)!
Too late, yes? No? Not available here, would love to win…and am happy its open to the whole world!!
The last wonderful book I read was Travels With Charley by John Steinbeck.
🙂
Last good book I read was Running With Scissors.
I’m loving dolfin’s dark chocolate bar with ground coffee.
I’m not that familiar with Le Labo or Anthropologie – but I did once try Labdanum 18 and swooned. A bottle in my future is a must! I’m also quite a fan of body oils, so will definitely take a look at theirs.
Ritter chocolate for me, all the way… And I recently finished reading Patti Smith’s ‘Just Kids’ – cannot not recommend it enough. Stunning, stunning. And such a worthy winner of the National Book Award. I’m really happy for Ms. Smith. Thank you for this giveaway! 🙂
My favorite thing about Anthropologie is strolling around smelling all the fragrances and lusting over all the beautiful clothes that are out of my price range.
My favourite chocolate bar is Lindt 90%. I’ve never tried any Le LAbo, but I hope to soon 🙂
My favourite Le Labo is Aldehyde 44
The last really good book I read must have been Jan Tschichold’s Die Neue Typographie. A visual treat to say the least.
Last good read – Book of Negroes by Lawrence Hill.
Sentimental fav chocolate bar – Laura Secord Frosted Mint
My favorite Le Labo is Aoud 27, my wife is an anthropologist and I love Dolfin chocalate.
Thanks for this giveaway,Robin!
Favourite chocolate bar is still Mars and the last good book I’ve read is Foucault’s pendulum by U.Eco.
Ah you’ve got permission to use my email to contact me if I win.
My favorite La Labo is ($adly)- Poivre 23…gorgeous as it is elusive. Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks for the opportunity! My fave chocolate bar atm is Lindt dark w/sea salt. Last good book? Reread Larry McMurtrey’s Lonesome Dove. It’s wonderful.
I’ve fallen madly in love with Le Labo Patchouli 24, which dellights me every time I spray it. (I also wear Aldehyde 44 & Bergamot 22.) Last great book I read was called “The Tiger” by John Vaillant, and it. Was. Amazing.
Right now I’m hooked on the dark chocolate with sea salt bars at World Market. Mo’s Bacon Bar (Vosges) is a big hit too.
exciting!
well, i’ve eaten many a chocolate bar, gourmet, dime store, even dated a Ghirardelli corporate sales rep, and I have to say that although there is much wonderful, delicious and sophisticated chocolate in the world, there’s nothing like a Hershey milk chocolate bar. Most recent decent book read would be Kaaterskill Falls by Allegra Goodman.
I love this! I’m always interested to see what other perfumaniacs are reading.
My favorite Le Labo is Iris 39.
My favorite book – or at least the one I find myself reading over and over again is “Sunshine” by Robin McKinley. It’s like a crazy mashup of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, X-Files, Like Water for Chocolate and Beauty & the Beast. To me, *this* is the vampire/supernatural book everyone should be going ga-ga about…but what do I know.
You have my permission to use the email address in my user account.
Hey! Sunshine by Robin McKinley is one of my favorite rereads too. I often wish there was a sequel. Chocolate-wise Godiva always hits the spot.
Thanks for the contest. You may use my email
Love this give-away. I actually got to visit Le Labo this fall and love Rose 31. As for Anthropologie, I love the wild mix of goods and the fact that I scored a Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange spray for a few bucks on the clearance table. How about a book I want to read–Patti Smith’s “Just Kids” and I will read it while eating Lindt’s dark chocolate with sea salt…Yum! Please use my email in my user account to let me know that I have won this terrific gift.
Hi, R! I just finished Red Square by Martin Cruz Smith. I’m kind of an Arkady Renko junkie. xoxo
My favorite chocolate bar is “sea salt & nibs” by a company called Madécasse. They sustainably support the health and well-being of the forests of Madagascar. However more importantly, unlike other companies that use the country’s beans, they also manufacture their product there, thereby creating jobs for the locals who really really need them. BTW, their entire line is simply delicious!
The most recent good book I’ve read is “The Red Rose Crew,” a non-fiction account of the first U.S. Women’s Crew and their journey to the 1975 World Championships in rowing. Girl power!
Oldie but goodie: An novelty-large Toblerone from the airport duty free shop.
“You have my permission to use the email address in my user account.”
The last good book I read was “The Brave” by Nicholas Evans. I love anything Godiva.
You have my permission to use my email address.
Awesome. My favourite Le Labo fragrance is Iris 39, and on the chocolate front, is anyone else here annoyed that Lindt have changed the recipe for their 70% bar? It’s lost all its intensity and become oily and tasteless. Bah.
The last good book I read was “Her Fearful Symmetry” by Audrey Niffenegger. The title is inspired by the poem “The Tyger” by William Blake. Fantastic novel.
“Never Let Me Go” by Kazuo Ishiguru is the last good book I read. It was chilling, and I loved every second of it.
The last good book I read was Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides – stunning and very intriguing.
long time stalker (and lover), but now seems like the time to comment 😀 so hello!
my family owns a chocolate factory/shop, so i get to taste a lot of great chocolate – my favourite of theirs is a citrus and honey solid praline which is really good. and of what we sell, grenada chocolate company’s dark chocolate is intense and amazing, not too overpowering and with the right (in my mind) level of fruity and coffee flavours. but then, i never crave chocolate (it’s always around) so i’m more of a peanut butter girl 🙂 when i’m at uni i will make desperate trips to the shops just for reeses cups in times of crisis.
I have never tried any of the Le Labo scents but I do read a lot! I just finished The Hunger Games series and highly recommend it. It’s one of the best written young adult books I’ve come across and I could barely put it down.
Thanks for the contest! Of course, you have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact me.
Patchouli 24!
Fave chocolate bar is Fry’s Chocolate Cream. Last great book was “The Help” Haven’t yet sampled Le Labo or Anthropologie and would love to.
Thanks for the great giveaway!
My favorite chocolate bar is Milk Chocolate Toffee Almond by Gertrude Hawk, an excellent chocolatier in Pennsylvania.
Im not sure you have it over there but I LOVE Smarties Family Blocks of Chocolate. I eat them all by myself…usually in under an hour. 🙂
The last great book I’ve read was Jean Genet’s Funeral Rites …
The last great book I read was The Book of Mirdad by Mikhail Naimy.
The last book i finished was the novel “The Imperfectionists,” by Tom Rachman. It’s about the characters populating an English-language newspaper based in Europe that much resembles the International Herald Tribune. A series of interlinked sketches, the novel has perfect aim when it comes to satirizing newspaper types. Rachman has a gimlet eye and a poignant sense of turnabout — some chapters end with surprises worthy of O. Henry. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in the dying world of print or in the foibles of Americans abroad.
I haven’t tried any of Le Labo scents, but they sound divine.
What I love about Anthropologie is that they are so unique from any other store out there. And the is such a romanticism and whimsy to their clothing. I also like there home goods.
I don’t really like chocolate, I know it is strange, but I do love dark chocolate covered espresso beans.
The last good book I read was called The Slippery Year. Very funny memoir about the trials and tribulations of being married and motherhood!
Oud 27 oriental masterpiece
Favorite, so hard to pick just one! but I’d say Vanille 44 or Iris 39 =)
d) the last good book you read- ‘Freedom’ by J. Franzen. Thanks!
