For my kids, decorating gingerbread houses (bless Trader Joe’s for those kits) is a cherished ritual. Me, I’ll spritz on some Five O’Clock au Gingembre from Moroccan-influenced French niche perfumer Serge Lutens and luxuriate in his vision of candied ginger, cinnamon, patchouli, honeyed fruit and mulled chai spices.

Great article. Thanks for the link! I just received a new bottle of my fall/winter holiday favorite in the mail yesterday – Fendi Asja edp. All honey-stewed fruits and spices. Mmm-mmmmm!
Mmm. That sounds delicious! Is it difficult to find?
And the SL frag sounds like a must try as well. I’ve been in a spicy frag phase lately. It’s a joy to explore them, especially during this time of year.
The edt is easier to find than the edp but can be had pretty reasonably at discounters and on the bay. It has been discontinued, though, so watch out for sellers who use this reasoning to jack up the price. I got a small bottle of edp (1.33 oz) for less than $40 including s&h.
Also, if you don’t want to ris buying a fb, decants of both the edp and edt are available on The Perfume Court.
Sounds perfect for fall 🙂
Oh yes!! Fendi Asja is delicious for fall….it’s almost time!
I loved that article!
It made me hungry!
Did you see the new Serge Lutens that’s going to smell like buttered toast? I can’t wait to smell that! 🙂
Buttered toast? Hmmm. That does sound good.
Now that’s a temptation, my favorite cold weather snack is buttered toast, with cinnamon sugar on top. Does anyone know of a scent with that smell??
Comptor Sud Pacifique’s vanilla extreme has a touch of vanilla with butter. That’s the closest I’ve found so far.
Smokey Toes- Buttered toast-not too dark and not too light with a cup of orange/black pekoe tea with cream and sugar. Yum!
Yes, sounds fun!
There’s something about the onset of Fall that makes me reach for tea more frequently. I do enjoy a nice cup of afternoon tea at work with a sweet biscuit.
I made a fresh batch of toffee brickle bit cookies Sunday, they are very nice with chai tea…. 🙂
Ooh, buttered toast! I would add a dab of orange marmalade. 🙂
My (bitter) “orange marmalade” scent is Santana for Women. No kidding. Love it.
Thank you! I love LA, and reading about perfume in LA is even better.
Hugs!
🙂
I’m all about the chai tea lately-must be the cooler weather we’re having. 🙂
I want a bottle of every single scent she mentioned.
I just think its cruel to have articles like that without scratch and sniff markers, or technology that releases the scent from your computer. I mean, it makes me CRAVE those scents and most of them are unavailable here. I’v been toying with the idea of T.P.C (they have a sample pack of dark roses there!) but the extra cost of customs just makes the whole thing ludicrous.
What a great article. It reminded me I must have some Nuit de Noel at the ready this year…and I’ll have to check out the writer’s books, I’d never heard of her. But then, there are many gaps in my knowledge…
Not to worry – I just have little gaps in my ignorance!
