So am I suppose to assume that “7” smells like a bullfight? I mean the film is beautiful (and Mr Rivera fills out his uniform nicely), but this is SUCH a reach for a perfume commercial that I’m at a loss…..
What does a bullfight smell like?
But they don’t show a bullfight, they show a good looking man putting on fancy clothing…
The combination of visual and audio before my coffee is complete almost knocked my fuzzy slippers off; stunning!
It’s beautifully shot. Almost a disappointment to see the making of, the color ruins it. Still baffled as to why so many brands are doing “making of” videos — they spoil whatever magic they spent so much money trying to achieve.
thanks for the warning Robin 🙂 so I did not check the making of it 🙂
the ad is so beautiful and intimate, well done
Very slyly homo-erotic, the silk stockings, the assistant assisting 😉
– but then again bull fighting is homo-erotic. European – in America the straight men would run for the hills . Better to have the over the top buffoonery of the Bang photograph. Cranky much? I need more coffee!!!!!!!!!
LOL…sending you a virtual shot of espresso.
Don’t think straight men here would go for the Bang ad either, but most of them won’t see it so doesn’t much matter.
Thanks, I needed that!
The Bang ad was posterized all over Bloomingdales and Macys a few weeks ago.
I don’t think the ads matter much anyway. A few years ago when Jon Bonjovi was advertising RSVP for Kenneth Cole, I was at Macys and two different women came up and inquired about buying the poster from the saleswoman. Said they hated the scent, but loved the ad. The saleswoman actually had a list of names, she would call them when the ad came down. I bet she sold them on ebay instead. RSVP could be had @ Marshalls two months later.
great story Bear, thanks for sharing 🙂
Yeah, but more than half of men’s fragrances are bought by women. I’d love to know the percentage of straight men who have not been near a fragrance counter at Macy’s or Bloomies in the past five years: betcha it’s really, really high. And the number of straight men who don’t read magazines with fragrance ads is probably even higher. So stand by my original assertion: most straight men will never see the ad.
Slyly homo-erotic?! Was that supposed to be an “assistant?” I had assumed it was a lover helping him dress.
One of my first thoughts was that this was a very “out” showing of a gay couple.
Oh my, that was enjoyable . . . I will consider it my version of all those Victoria’s Secret ads and not feel guilty about the pool of drool overflowing onto my laptop.
Yes, I am thinking about investing in a bib just in case anymore of these ads come along.
And we know they will!
That was gorgeous.
Mmm, there is just something about Spanish men… Beautiful, but it didn’t make me think fragrance… (maybe a few beds of sweat?)
I don’t know if that was a Freudian slip (‘bed’ v. ‘beads’) but I’m inclined to thing ‘bed’ meself! LOL!
xo
Oh my! Funny that happening… 😉
I think you must be right Musette!
I am jealous. He looks better in tights than I do!
Lordy! That gave me vapors…
It reminded me of Madonna’s ‘Take a Bow’ video (minus the you-know-what at the end)
That matador was muy sexy, too!
