British spa and treatment brand Elemis has launched their second fragrance (the first, Elemis Eau de Parfum, launched earlier this year), Elemis Exotic:

Elemis Exotic is an intoxicating blend of warming and spicy Sri Lankan Cinnamon Bark, Pink Pepper and Clove Bud Oil from the Comores Isles that is chased beautifully by the floral heart of night time blooms of Ylang Ylang, fresh whiteness of Indian Jasmine Sambac and precious Tuberose. As the fragrance evolves, it deepens and darkens into the base notes, the notes that linger and are a fixative. The warm, woody fusion of Frankinscense, mysterious Somali Incense, centred with Cedarwood grown in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and finally the finishing touch of Sandalwood. A vital part of the Elemis Eau De Parfum Exotic experience is that it takes you on a journey via your senses. Close your eyes and in one deep, shoulder-loosening breath, a host of exotic notes transport you to a faraway place. The spiciness of the top note, floral of the heart note and the accord of that final warm experience, An extension of you.

Elemis Exotic is available now at Debenhams in the UK, £35 for 30 ml Eau de Parfum. (via debenhams)

This sounds like something I would like. Yes, transport me to a faraway place, PLEASE. (Sounds like “Calgon, take me away” or whatever that phrase was.)

Has anyone here sniffed it yet? Is it only available as edp or also bath salts? I’ll have to google them.

I have not even tried the first one yet, sorry!

I have tried this and it is lovely – much better than their first effort. It is warm and spicy and encourages you to breathe it in even deeper – BUT – it has the lasting power of a snowflake in hell. On me, I could no longer smell it after 45mins. I even checked the bottle to make sure it was an eau de parfum! Debenhams in the UK stock it and I think they ship abroad.

I have just paid a little bit more attention – Debenhams has already been mentioned! Small samples have been included in recent QVCUK TSVs and have appeared on Ebay – good luck.

That’s ok — and thanks for the great description!

Thanks — warm and spicy sounds good! Maybe I’ll be luckier with the sillage. I have the same problem with my beloved Amethyst edp; I haven’t timed it, but I think it disappears even quicker.

I think I’ll order it unsniffed and hope to heck to it’s a good fit.

I had someone spray me with this in NYC last year. At first I was outraged (well, maybe still a bit, it was uncalled for), but after a while, I was intrigued by this scent, and over dinner later, was even more intrigued. The scent somehow had gotten on something in my handbag, and it then hooked me, days later. I ordered some from England, it arrived in short order, and it is wonderful. Warm but not cloying, you can smell the cloves and spiciness. On me, it lasts a long time, and I like that it is not too frou-frou…sort of has a masculine tone to it, but still feminine. It is a new favorite, though not in same “greatness” as my 22 or Attrape Coeur, both of which I adore. I could wear this casually or to an evening out on the town.
