New fragrances from Jane Packer

Jane Packer perfumes

British floral designer Jane Packer will launch her debut fragrances in October; the five in the series were "each created to represent different moods and characters".

Red Roses, Black Violet, Cyclamen ~ "An explosion of fresh notes on a delicately warm heart composed of sensual Red Roses and Black Violet. This is a sophisticated fragrance with delicate spices which delights the senses. The warm after application radiates sensuality and gives a mysterious oriental feeling."

Fig, Sandalwood, Amber ~ "The green fig note brings freshness to the transparent white flower heart. The driftwood and sandalwood combination adds complexity and a sensual accent. The sandalwood and amber capture the attention in the moments after application."

Gardenia, Cedar Wood, Patchouli ~ "This beautiful white flower bouquet offers the most exquisite Gardenia scent enhanced with Patchouli to bring a touch of colour and depth to this sensual composition. Discreet woods and a touch of vanilla accentuate the sensuality of this fragrance."

Iris, Jasmine, Sandalwood ~ "Delicate soft Iris and the heady garden reminiscence of Jasmine are a true representation of the summer garden which is grounded by the sophistication offered by the depth of Sandalwood tone."

Green Orchid, Vetiver, Lemon Grass ~ "The hypnotic and subtle orchid and lemon grass perfectly blend with the deepness of the selection of underlying base notes. These powerful notes are lightened by steamy, green grass nuances. The delicious after application relates to the warmth of vanilla and precious woods."

The Jane Packer perfumes will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum (£45) and in matching body products. Testers can be found now at the Jane Packer boutique in London; the scents will eventually be available in the boutiques in Korea, Japan and New York as well. Another “series” release. It just makes me head hurt. Isn’t there a recession in Great Britain too?

The Asian beauty market is still growing though, and she’s in Japan & Korea. Other than that, I know nothing…had never heard of her but apparently she is well known. If you know florists, which I don’t.

The last one is the one I want too!

I went back and re-read that after you commented, Robin. Thanks for pointing it out. I think I skimmed right over that after my eyes were bugging out from just reading the descriptions! lol It does make more sense in the Asian market.

I’ve known about her work for many years… She did Sarah Ferguson’s flowers when she married Prince Andrew, and her own wedding flowers were extraordinary… she wore a gauzy gold Romeo Gigli dress, had a crown of deep red and hot pink roses, and a bouquet of shades of deep red roses with blackberries and ropes of Love Lies Bleeding. Pretty amazing.

She now has a shop in New York I see…

But these scents seem very similar to a lot of other scents, at least from their descriptions…

Fig, Sandalwood, Amber… yummmmm. I’d love to try these but it seems like they’ll be hard to find in the US.

Unless some distributor picks them up, or she comes up with a sample set….

I wish anyone and everyone who does launches like this would offer a coffret. These all sound sniff-worthy, and would look gorgeous in those bottles in say a 10ml coffret/bouquet.

Who is the perfumer? Olivia G. did driftwood nicely in Preparation Parfumee. (second scent)

In fact, with the fig, that second one sounds very Olivia G! (sorry, can’t spell her last name…Giacobetti?)
