Juliet by Juliet Stewart perfume

Makeup artist Juliet Stewart has launched Juliet, her debut perfume:

Juliet Stewart’s intention was to create a very soulful, sophisticated and elegant perfume. Ms. Stewart is extremely passionate about her work and her message is “That every woman of any age is beautiful because of who she becomes with time. I will continue to strive to deeply touch the lives of women around the world with dignity, integrity and compassion”.

Juliet was developed by perfumer Lorenzo Dante Ferro; the notes for the floriental fragrance include lemon, basil, bergamot, orange, fresh Mediterranean herbs, jasmine, vanilla, amber and precious woods.

Juliet by Juliet Stewart is available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, $125. It can be found now at Beautyhabit. (via press release)

It's fruity (citrus petals, mirabelle plum), it's floral (star jasmine, spring muguet) and it's full of life.

Not long ago I received a spray sample of this in a MUA swap, but I haven’t made up my mind about it. I didn’t know who she (Juliet) was, and to be honest, I’m a little surprised at the price tag. During the blind-sniff-test, I guessed it to be a department store cheapie ($75 is the new free, right?); though, to be fair, I tested it as my sleep scent, and didn’t spend much time paying attention to it.

    Guess I found my SOTD!

Looks like an indie launch, so not surprised it isn’t cheap…sorry to hear it’s not as wonderful as the price might imply!

I have no idea who Juliet Stewart is but I like her attitude! Lemon, basil, bergamot…. I’d take a little bit of that right now, thank you very much….sounds like it’d perk me right up!

say Robin— I tried to email you at the prescribed NST address and it came back as undeliverable…I just wanted to tell you that I have preordered 3 bottles of that newest L’artisan and have you on my list for a bit. The word is that distribution for this is going to be pretty limited for the next several months.

Robin, I’m so surprised you’ve never tried Juliet! It is my HG, the one I would choose to save out of my entire collection. It’s the perfect scent for me; it’s the one scent that I can happily wear anywhere, anytime. It starts off with a fresh citrusy/herbal topnote and gracefully melds into a warm, soft vanilla sandalwood drydown. I have several bottles stocked up already and have been wearing it for at least a year. Let me know if you want me to send you a sample! And btw, it’s available on Juliet’s website.

BTW, Just want to throw in a tidbit here: free shipping with code MUA if we order by telephone via Juliet Stewart’s site. (n/a) I already have plenty but thought I’d share a way to get a bottle w/o paying for shipping.

Had a sample and swapped it away, thankfully. Found it to be a loud fougere. Not for me but I know it’s loved by many.

I found Juliet a few months ago, thanks to the enthusiastic praise of MelissaJane. I have to say, I love it. Have been saving up to buy a bottle, because I can’t just drop $125 at the drop of a hat… but I will. For me, it’s the perfect daily scent…uplifting but not harsh, the lemon is almost buttery with out being sweet…the base is a lovely warm sensation.
You know how Carolina Herrara always wears a crisp white shirt? She pairs with slacks, jeans, elaborate taffeta ballgowns. Very versatile, classic,.. will be a staple in my fragrance wardrobe.

… though I’ll probably keep looking for my “taffeta” scent somewhere else.

    Encourage you to resniff!

She does seem a special person and the people at her company are reall sweet and helpful. I got samples last year, and really liked the fragrance, but felt at that time it wasn’t me. However, now that chilly autumn nights are here, I am beginning to long for it ….. (weird, aren’t I?) I remember it as being heavy on vanilla and drying down woody. It was a good bed-time scent as it was cozy and comforting, and a hint still lingered in the morning. Perhaps the cost (especially to the UK) put me off a little – but hey, what does money matter! And speaking of vanilla, my Yves Rocher sample of Vanille Noire is on its way to me right now …..
