The Gucci Guilty commercial, starring Evan Rachel Wood and Chris Evans, directed by Frank Miller. I don't know if there is a longer version coming; this one is about the same length as the trailer (a little over 30 seconds).
The music is Friendly Fires covering Depeche Mode's Strangelove.
Update: here are links to the Director's Cut (!) and a behind the scenes video.
It doesn’t look Gucci at all to me.
I wish fragrance companies that bear the same name as fashion companies would work hand in hand together to do something that really represents the brand.
Good examples: Chanel, Dior, Gaultier
Bad examples: Lanvin, Givenchy and Gucci
I don’t follow fashion brands well enough to notice usually…but I suppose the only thing this has in common with their commercial for Gucci by Gucci is that they paid a lot of $ for a famous director.
Lanvin is actually following the fashion brand quite well. if you look at their biggest sellers, it’s cute and colorful bags, flats and costume jewelry. the fragrances tap into that market, not the high fashion shown by Elbaz. (who also has his hands in the colorful accessories section of the brand)
This was way too racy are they for real they didn’t have to cheapen the brand like this.
Gucci has done some very racy ads in the past though…this is not their high (or low, depending on your outlook) point on that score!
Never like this it used to creative but this was disturbing sadly this will probally be a hit sex sells.
Gucci, under Tom Ford, once released an ad campaign where a woman was standing against a wall, pulling her panties down and showing a shaved in G in her pubic hair.
THIS is NOTHING. lol
Yes, that is one of the ones I was thinking of. Hard to get any racier than that.
Yes, but that was under Tom Ford. And that fit very well with the whole line under TF.
Under Tom Ford’s direction. It was still Gucci. This is Sesame street compared to all of the other ads and commercials that get released every year
I think the full commercial is 1minute or longer. It’ll debut the day of the MTV awards
That would make sense. Wondering why they’re bothering to put this on YouTube now when it is so like the teaser. Two teasers is too many, although it’s becoming the standard.
this reminds me of the concept for tokio hotel’s latest album/tour.
they should have had bill instead of evan rachel wood
😀
Oh, Bill or Eric would have been the cat’s pajamas… *swoon*
The DM cover was good, though, and I do want to try the frag, especially since all the notes are ones I like.
This can’t be the whole thing- not enough Chris Evans! 😉
I smelled Guilty yesterday and found it ‘meh’.
The peach and mandarin were prominent in the beginning the peach hung in for the middle phase and then gave way to very pale patchouli and polite amber. At worst the ‘glamgirl’ of the press release is guilty of missing her curfew because she was the designated driver for the real troublemakers. Of course I had also sprayed myself liberally with the Black Orchid tester so it was probably bound to seem a bit insipid!
oh… yummy Chris Evans…. MORE MORE MORE!
make a Gucci Guilty for MEN! with more Chris of course lol
Ha! As a comics geek, I had to double take at seeing Frank Miller’s name here; I wouldn’t usually expect to see these two interests of mine overlap.
Much as I love Miller, I’ve felt iffy about his turn at directing. Turns out it’s harder for me to accept over-the-top storytelling in live action (rather than on paper). Though I guess over-the-top is the usual for perfume ads, so I suppose the choice here makes sense!
Looked more like an ad for that extremely spiked heel shoe, of for hair coloring. (Note the attempt to duplicate Deneuve’s Channel NO. 5 mane) Is the scent supposed to be suggestive of automobile exhaust or the smell of burning oil?. Is air pollution the “sin?”
The “feel” of the commercial would have been 1000% better if they would have used the Depeche Mode original than that anemic cover.
