Halston Amber Woman & Amber Man

Halston has launched Halston Woman Amber and Halston Man Amber:

It is a scent of deep sensuality, character and contrasts." Additional notes include mandarin, redcurrant, crystalline aldehydes, rose, olibanum, sandalwood, white suede and musk. Halston Woman Amber is available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Man Amber ~ "Halston Man Amber is a contemporary Woody Oriental creation of ultimate masculinity, extreme refinement and uncompromising character that provides a luxurious aura of irresistible seduction." The notes include geranium leaves, thyme, bergamot, pure amber, myrrh, labdanum, oud wood, cedar atlas and musk. Halston Man Amber is available in 75 and 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

Has alot of notes I love. I would def give it a sniff. Halston Z14 was one of my staple scents when I was a teen.

I wasn’t that impressed with the last set of Halstons (from 2009) but I’ll give these a shot.

I never got to sniff those, or didn’t make an effort to anyway.

I’d love to try both of these. The Woman Amber sounds good for the summer while the Man Amber would be perfect for the winter. And I don’t think Halston is too terribly spendy…

The 2009 Halston Woman was $70 for 50 ml…it could be worse.

Amber makes my skin itch, but these bottles are really pretty.

I love the phrase “weightless veil of Wild Tuberose.” If there is one thing tuberose wears, it is not a weightless veil. I can see it in a feather boa. Or if it really wants to wear veils, perhaps a bellydance outfit.

Ah, but think of the Prada Infusion tuberose…that is pretty darned weightless!

And the new L’Artisan is sort of a light, airy tuberose. (To my nose, anyway.) I just think of tuberose overall being sort of… dramatic.

      Miss K
I think the original bottle design is Elsa Peretti-if I’m not mistaken….
My last Halston love was Halston Couture, and last year’s release was meh. Will give it a try though (I could like the men’s formulation better) and see. I do tend to love amber scents.

Woman Amber doesn’t sound so bad – all those woods. I love that they kept the design of their original women’s bottle, and hopefully all that gold foil will hold up in person, finger smudges aside.

I also loved Z14 when I was in high school too! It shared a lot of time with Drakkar Noir and Polo for the young men on the prowl. My sister even wore it.

Oh my. Total scent flashback pegged Z. Cavarricci’s and waves of Drakkar, Polo, Obsessionand Whatever the CVS version of Drakkar was… Meeting my waves of the original Liz Claiborne ( which I gag even memory – sniffing now) and Shalimar, Emeraude, original Halston and Camp Beverley Hills!

I like the sound of the men’s but that wild tuberose is scaring me away from the women’s. Miss Kitty is right – there’s never a weightless veil involved with tuberose!

Tuberose is never a weightless veil for me…more like a sledgehammer…right between the eyes…. I have no idea why I react to it so, but I usually do. Sigh.

I don’t know-Diptyque’s Do Son comes pretty close to weightless. I usually get a headache from the heaviness in Tuberose-centered fragrances, and Diptyque’s is fine.

Bring it on!!! I don`t see any candy/fruitchouli or a Calone cousin, which makes any scent w/ those items exited a try-worthy adventure!!

I sprayed the Woman version on a card in Harrods, and had the weird experience of not being able to smell it! All I got was alcohol, and vague sweetness. I know that some musks do that to me, but I’ve never had it happen with amber. I liked the bottles, so it was a bit of a disappointment.

So, really, is tuberose the new “beachy” of 2010?

Last Halston I had was a bottle of Halston Night – I wore it throughout high school and dearly loved it.

I loved both the original Halston and Halston Couture. Amber certainly sounds worth a try!

the bottle on the left (woman’s?) looks like a deformed J’adore bottle.
