Acqua di Parma has launched Colonia Essenza, a new flanker to 1916's Colonia:
A vibrant and distinctive fragrance that reinterprets and enhances the emblematic notes found in the original Eau de Cologne by Acqua di Parma. Opening with fresh Italian citrus fruits, this scent has an aromatic heart, enhanced by a vibrant woody base note.
The notes include grapefruit, tangerine, petit grain, rosemary, rose, jasmine, lily of the valley, patchouli and white musk.
Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza can be found now at Harrods in the UK, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Cologne. (via harrods)
Update: see a review of Acqua di Parma Colonia Essenza.
Oh this one sounds nice. I love the bottle done up in black. I hope to one day try it. : )
The bottle is perfect! I am not a huge fan of Colonia but did Colonia Intensa very much.
ohhh….I thought it said “…fragrance that MISinterprets and enhances…” ok, REinterprets makes more sense.
Still there’s grapefruit and that has the potential for everyone’s favorite note: sweaty-pee. Other from that it sounds perfectly acceptable.
I usually love grapefruit other than Guerlain Pamplelune, so I am hopeful!
I don’t like that black bottle near as well as the iconic yellow/ochre color of the original and other flankers. Sounds worth trying though. I love Colonia Intensa.
Have they done one in an opaque yellow? Can’t remember. They probably did.
“Flanker” and the year “1916” in one sentence just sounds so dischordant to me. I’ve never really liked the word “flanker”, though. It makes me think of livestock or military manouvers.
I was thinking the same thing about Flanker and 1916! I prefer the classic bottle. This def sounds worth trying.
The “flanker” thing made me laugh. Almost one hundred years in the interim between releases is a hefty chunk of time. 😉
True! But they have done more recent flankers 🙂
Actually, I like dark-colored bottles (they are the best for protecting their contents), but it doesn’t seem to suit this particular fragrance, based on the listed notes. The black bottle is evocative of a rich, dark scent, not a citrusy eau de cologne. It does seem funny to think of a “flanker” to a 1916 fragrance, although Guerlain has done it with Mitsouko and Shalimar, which are very nearly as old.
Oh, you had to bring up the Mitsouko flanker! I never did get to try that, and now I can’t find it anywhere. TPC was selling samples for a while, but it was only briefly.
Sounds nice! That black bottle will look good in the sunny yellow box, if it comes in that box.
Anyone have info on when this will come to Barney’s? I own and love Colonia Intensa and this sounds very nice as well!
No idea, sorry!
Any idea who the nose is for this?
No, sorry.
Oh, this sounds beautiful. I can’t wait to try this, and always think black bottles look so classy and find the idea of a citrusy and fresh frag to be in one somehow amusing and endearing.
….it’s not the new By Kilian?
Grapefruit, Tangerine, Rose, Jasmine, Mueget…. OOOOOOO, I’M DYING FOR THIS! Love ALL of the Colonia’s and this sounds like a Promise of Intense Love! 🙂 cannot wait for it!
fantastic news !
do you know in which shop it could be available in Paris for the exclusive presale?
I can’t wait till the middle of september for general sale !!
I don’t know, sorry!
