American Beauty True Delight fragrance advert

American Beauty will launch True Delight, a new fragrance for women, in September:

NEW American Beauty True Delight captures the simple pleasures of life in one luscious fragrance. True Delight brings to life the warmth of the sun with an irresistible blend of floral garden blooms, sparkling fruit and sensual musky wood. Its signature ingredients, juicy peach and magnolia make the fragrance as delightful as a perfect afternoon with just one spritz.

Additional notes include bergamot, cassis, jasmine, muguet, tiare, camellia, iris, apricot, cool morning dew accord, musk, cedar and sandalwood.

American Beauty True Delight will be available at Kohl's in 75 ml for $39.50. (via press release)

If they don’t go too heavy on the ‘morning dew accord’, this might be very pretty. Peach and magnolia are some of my fave notes and if they don’t turn out too sweet when blended together, sound like a really pretty floral. Though this seems much more like something that should have come out back in March or April… I’m happily diving into my cool weather frags in September and rejoycing over summer’s last gasps. 🙂

It does sound like a spring scent, doesn’t it?

Kohl’s is one of the few retailers that will leave bone-dry tester bottles out for weeks on end. And if you did find something to purchase, you have to wait for the jewelry counter girl to unlock the merchandise. One of the worst full retail fragrance sellers. YMMV

Yep, I’ve had the same experience at my Kohl’s, chaotic and lots and lots of old testers left out. They do have a very decent selection at good prices, though, at least at mine.

Yes, it is not a place to go to for the service.

Assuming you can *find* a SA that will help you… I’ve had SA’s at Kohl’s outright ignore me or conveniently vanish. One Kohl’s I’ve been to actually has their sale stock out in the open, no locked cases and invisible SA’s to deal with… while another puts both the fragrances for sale and the tester bottles of fragrance in the cases (that one is located in a mall that had such problems with teenagers loitering that it had to institute a program where no humans under the age of 18 were allowed to be by themselves after 6pm Fri-Sun). Guess it depends on the particular store.

Peach *and* apricot? Hmmm, interesting. I usually like both in fragrance as long as it’s not too sugared. I probably will try this out at my Kohl’s but you’re right, Bear, atrocious customer service there. I once wrote a complaint about the cosmetic girl because she was so rude to my friend and I. Even when we moved out of the department she continued to give us a murderous stink eye. I still don’t know what I did to warrant that!

Interesting…I don’t think I’ve ever even seen staff in the cosmetic area unless I went looking for them.

I filed a report on the Kohl’s website once about the SA’s at one store, but they never really followed up beyond one email (in that email they stated there was supposed to be a phone call placed to me to talk more about the problems I had). I just stopped going to that particular Kohl’s, it didn’t make a difference to their bottom line but at least it made me feel morally superior 😉

    The price is certainly right!

I like the sound of the notes. I do hope it’s not too sweet. I haven’t been into Kohl’s in ages. Will have to make a note to go and check this out. Has anyone tried the Beloved scent series by the same line?

Ok, so am I the only person who has noticed the bottle looks suspicously like Lauder’s Sensous? Perhaps it looks different “in person” but in this pic, it’s nearly a dead ringer. No coincidence that American Beauty is made by BeautyBank, a Lauder company (that also owns Flirt, Good Skin, and Grassroots – all brands only available at Kohl’s).

I’m actually interested in this… I’ve found the Beloved series to be simple, enjoyable perfumes that on me tend to settle into calm florals that disappear within a matter of hours. In other words, good scents to wear around the perfume-intolerant or if you need to go to the pharmacy or grocery store and just want a simple scent to wear out. I know some people who magnify the scents into screechy florals, though, so that calmness may just be my skin.
