Vera Wang will launch Vera Wang Anniversary this September. The new limited edition fragrance for women celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Vera Wang fashion house, and is described as "bright and lush".
Anniversary is a woody floral with notes of bergamot, apple leaves, mandarin, dew drop accord, gardenia, rose, orange blossom, musk, orris, amber and cedar.
Vera Wang Anniversary will be available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum and in 10 ml shimmer rollerball.

Dew drops? really? Dew drops? yah, ok….it’s fresh like water….only “fresher” than regular water….but what about artesian spring water? Is it fresher than that? or mountain stream water (oh, maybe that’s only for beer…)
Sorry, I’m being mean….there’s just something about Vera Wang fragrances that generally annoy me. Guess this is how I know it’s time for me to get up from the computer and take the dog for a bike ride….where there’s REAL , fresh, dew drops….
We get lots of dew drops. I think Pure DKNY had dew drops.
…and it never fails to entertain me when I see a dew drop (accord) in something…it’s kind of an ‘eye-roller’ for me.
I think the word “water” must be too boring for ad copy! My yard is awash in lovely dew drop accords each of these horribly humid mornings!! I should outsorce it to the fragrance manufacturers.
ha! there you go! 🙂
Oh, no!
Yesterday it was “Marry Me” and now we’re on to the “Anniversary”! My, things happen so fast…
Maybe all this especially irks me because I am a single gal, but c’mon.
As for Wang perfumes, they annoy me too, mostly because many (especially in the “Princess” line) smell like a pre-teen’s mixture as conjured to represent her own idea of olfactory perfection. I did this once at the Body Shop circa 1995 and ended up smelling like a half-rotten banana….
LOL!!
This one has much more potential, though… one has an anniversary every year. Imagine if your husband settled on that as a “tradition”…
ahhhggg! please NO!
I find it’s all in the training—my CEO is clear on gift giving protocol: he reminds me that a “gift type event” is coming up …and then waits patiently for an appropriate bottle to show up on his desk, he cleverly conceals it in his closet until the correct date arrives. It’s a great system. 🙂
Brava, Daisy! I should have known you’d come up with the neatest refinement of the buying-one’s-own-gift system.
Brilliant! We need a system like that in my house; do you have a training manual?
the CEO claims it all began many moons ago when we were only married a short time and made a trip to the mall for Christmas shopping —he had a list, and was going to shop for “surprises” then we’d meet back up in an hour etc. …..he was 26 and going to shop for surprises for me and his mother without GUIDANCE?? I seem to remember gently suggesting that we look over the list together—he claims I grabbed the list right out of his hands and said things like “I’d better look at that” and “I don’t think so!” …with passing time my comments have become harsher and harsher….but I think that’s just a ploy for sympathy. The end result, however, is that I am supplied with lists beginning in October to review for others…..and gifts for me: he knows to let them appear as if by magic. Oh, he still loves to surprise me—but now they’re little things like new tools for my jewelry making —no big money mistakes.
I think I need direct mentoring. Mine used to be very good at picking things out. More recently, he’d gotten lazy and taken to shopping off my wishlists. But we hit rock bottom last month when for Mother’s Day, he surprised me with: a puzzle. An *ugly* puzzle. I hoped it was a clue to the real gift, which would have been him selling or throwing away enough of his stuff that I could actually find space to assemble it… but no.
unfortunately—you’re not the one who needs direct mentoring! Mr. Firefighter is the one who needs a clue! A puzzle, indeed!
Does that mean in two and a half years VW will release the “Divorce” fragrance for those women who want to feel dewy fresh and out on the market again?
After “First Born!” no doubt, eau de Johnsons Baby. Fun to imagine the notes for Divorce – probably hemlock would be in there somewhere.
Looking at the pic I thought this would have lilac notes in it, but then again I doubt I’d get a realistic lilac smell out of a perfume, let alone Vera Wang.
En Passant!! (well, that’s realistic to me)
I like your review of that… wish I’d smelled lilacs when they were in bloom next to a loaf of bread. I also see it’s on the list of 100 fragrances every perfumista should try (which I’m working through, reading and highlighting in all my obsessive-compulsive glory) so I’ll really have to sample this one soon 🙂
If lilacs are what you’re looking for (I agree–that’s a toughie) En Passant is a good one and there are a few others you might try:
1. iPdF Lilla—I think this is the most “realistic”
2. DSH Purple lilac
3. DSH White lilac ( “clean” lilacs)
4. Pacifica French Lilac –very good, very inexpensive
5. Ineke After My Own Heart –slightly soapy lilacs.
Thanks 🙂 Some of those look hard to track down in Europe, but I’ll try and get the cheap ones next time I’m in the States, and hunt around online for samples of the others.
If you’re in Europe you may want to try Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Lilas as well!
I will, thanks, I’ve heard those are a nice value for the price.
Bwahahahaha! I guess Vera really took our words to heart yesterday! “They’ll buy ‘Marry Me’ at most three times (or 8, for the Liz Taylor types), but they’ll have an anniversary EVERY YEAR! Suck on that, Lanvin!!!”
It is funny to get this the next day…
Let’s see–Marry me, Anniversary–what perfume will we read about tomorrow? Funeral? Widowhood? Midlife Crisis? Second Honeymoon? The possibilities are endless…
What? No frosting? No spun sugar? No candied flowers? No sprinkles? No whipped cream? Are you sure this is Vera Wang?
That’s usually the Princess line. The regular VW line is usually conservative florals.
Sorry, I find even the latter unbearably sugary.
I’ve been disappointed in Vera Wang in general, lately, anyway. The scents are pricey, yet dull and often not terribly pleasant. The clothing line she now has available in Kohl’s is flimsy and cheaply made, for the most part. Still, these notes sound intriguing, so I’ll probably sniff it…a triumph of hope over experience!
Can’t disagree. Look was not an exciting scent.
I don’t care for Vera Wang either. This is strange considering I usually like typical bridal perfumes. But Ms. Wang”s just seem boring. I hope this is different, it’s definitely fraught for jokes.
Strange name. If a man asks “What is it? You smell so good.” And you say, ‘Marry Me.” Maybe he’ll say, “yes” or “No thanks, but what are you wearing?” It seems fraught with hazards-but a great scent for the single desperate women.
Exchange Joke. I’m thinking of Lanvin’s Marry me. I’m getting senile.
I am still waiting for Everybody Vera Wang Chung Tonight.
😀
OMG! I thought I was the only one—whenever I see Vera Wang written , that exact line runs thru my head , complete with full musical accompaniment (again and again)
Me too, Miss K!
Its not just you! I did a dance routine to that when I was younger and I relive it every time I read/hear something about Vera Wang.
miss kitty v, that’ll be the tagline when ‘Drunken Reception’ comes out with notes of flat champagne, lipstick, and stuffy silk blend bride’s maid dresses. 🙂
Is it wrong the Drunken Reception actually sounds like something I would like?
If that’s wrong, I don’t want to be right. Sign me the hell up!
The mind boggles at the possibility of flankers: Wedding Night, The Honeymoon’s Over, Married Life, Seven Year Itch, Ennui, Clandestine Affair, The Other Woman…
…eau de First Degree Murder…..
Excellent! Would have to include notes of salty tears, money (for solicitor and/or inheritance), and prison accord (laundry, sweat and boiled meat). Or I suppose luxury holiday accord if lucky!
Oh no, you’ve got it all wrong— it would have topnotes of citrus & pineapple, heartnotes of coconut, tiare , tropical flowers, sandy beaches and gentle ocean breezes….it’d have a long lasting basenote I like to call “NON-EXTRADITION” . 😉
Celestia, all joking aside, those are actually awesome names for perfumes. I would buy them, or at least be tempted to give them a good sniff.
Thanks, Miss Kitty! Some of them probably would work in the real world.
I rather enjoy her Bouquet. Its the only one of her fragrances that I really really like. I’ll have to get me a bottle soon. This one sounds like it might be very similar to it. I really look forward to trying this. : )
Pretty purple!
I liked it! I’ll get me a bottle one day! Hope u like it Robin and for a review too. : )
TUUUUBEROSE!!!! That’s all I smell!
