Nina Ricci will launch Nina L'Elixir, a new flanker to 2006's Nina fragrance for women. The fragrance will be fronted by British singer Florrie Arnold (you can see her covering Blondie's Sunday Girl at a Nina L'Elixir press event).
Like the original, Nina L'Elixir was developed by perfumer Olivier Cresp. The notes include jasmine, red fruit, lime caipirinha and cotton musk.
I will update with sizes / prices when I can find them. (via fr.fashionmag)
Update: Nina Ricci Nina L'Elixir will be available in 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Parfum, and is due to launch in August. (via marieclaire.fr)
It’s kind of a “spot the differences” game…
What does this bottle has that the original hasn´t….
Degradé colored glass maybe?
I liked the original a lot (it wasn´t nearly as sweet as I expected and had lots of ¨Pale Woods¨ (as in pencil shavings) which I love.
So I gave it to my mom as a gift.. and she loved it..
But my dad does not like it, so the bottle just sits there 3/4ers full…
Not totally unrelated: Many women that I know, that usually do not comment on perfume are singing praises of Ricci Ricci. Go figure! it seems the world loves sugar in perfume after all. I feel as such a misfit! 😉
Yep, looks like the color is the only thing they changed.
I still have not smelled Ricci Ricci! Nina was pleasant enough, and agree not overly sweet. From the sound of it, Ricci Ricci & Nina together hit all the current trends: sweet fruit & fresh fruit 🙂
I can’t think what Ricc Ricci is similar to but I know it’s there
umm? it’s not DKNY be delicious is it? oh I can’t think
Nina is a nice fragance. It was one of my acquisitions when i was in the mood for sweet but no overwhelming. Funily, men around me smelled a strong citrus note in it when i wore it, just my chemistry :P.
Now, Ricci Ricci… I asked a SA to put some in my arm and when i jumped a cab i had to open the window and take my arm out.
Ricci Ricci = Diabethic Comma.
I wanted to love Nina… both for the bottle and because it’s my daughter’s name… but it didn’t quite work for me, and the little one turned up her nose at it. That said, I’ll try this if I see it, to see if they’ve tweaked it at all.
I LOVE the sugary sweet scents…men love it too. Flower Bomb/Carolina Herrera (not sugary but sweet floral) and Nina L’Elixer is yummy and I get a lot of compliments when I wear them all.
I have nothing against this perfume as I’ve never smelled any of them, and it may be perfectly charming. But cotton musk? In my house that might just be code for dirty laundry, lol.
LOL!
I want it!!!:) the bottle is really cute and because it’s Elixir it’s probably even stronger than the regular Nina.
It might be, hard to tell.
Cute bottle…but “red fruit”? Is this an actual type of fruit I’ve missed hearing about, or do they just want us to guess whether it’s cherries, strawberries, apples, raspberries, etc.? Or some combination thereof?
They use that term a lot lately. It usually smells like berries to me.
Am wearing the original (1987) Nina edt today – on my “person” while playing with vintage Norell and First perfumes. Yes, I’m in vintage perfume heaven!
The original Nina is so beautiful I just can’t imagine trying the newer version. Wish they had given it a different name to begin with…
I’m not a big fan of reusing old names either, but they all do it.
I liked the new Nina, although I never tried the original – but not enough to buy it yet. I ended up choosing the Pucci Vivara as the full bottle from my sampler because I liked the bottle even more. Now that Nina has hit Walgreen’s and the discounters, I might snag it – and I’ll definitely give this a sniff.
The Vivara bottle is wonderful.
I love the bottle – not the scent so much – and managed to get an empty tester of Nina from a perfume store. The manager refused to let me have it at first, saying he had to return it to get another tester, but I told him it was my birthday and that’s what I wanted most of all. LOL! The cap is missing, but that bottle makes me happy whenever I look at it. And I like the fact that the metal bits are not flimsy, but really solid.
Great story — glad he relented!
Oh I LOVE the original Nina. Im wearing it today in this intense heat. Its perfect for the summer. Ive gotten me a bottle, my best friend a bottle and I got my nina a bottle for her bday cuz its called Nina. LOL! They both love it as much as I do. I sure hope L’Elixir launches sooner than later in the US. I still have to go try Le Paradis. I never got me a bottle of Love by Nina. Dang it. : (
This perfume is great…really fresh and youthful. The bottle itself is so elegant and full of dimension – almost worth the price on its own. Hope to get one under the tree this Christmas!
very great porfume))) can you tell me what clothes on Florrie in add this porfume?) and where i can get it) sorry for my little english…i’m from Russia)
No idea, sorry.
