An oldie but goodie: Judy Garland singing Get Happy for Clinique's Happy fragrance. Video quality not so great, but Judy sounds fine. Below the jump, more happy.
The video just below is Judy Garland singing Get Happy in Summer Stock; next up is Rufus Wainwright singing (strictly speaking, lip syncing to his own recording of) Get Happy at the Glastonbury Festival in 2007.
I have to say that really listening to the lyrics makes me think that it is an odd song choice for the commercial. Clinique Happy helps me “. . . get ready for the Judgment Day.”
It is interesting. They did substitute “world” for “Lord” but I guess there wasn’t much they could do with “Judgment Day” without making it obvious they were messing with the song.
Rufus. 🙂
Exactly.
Quite honestly, the people in the commercial looked as if they had had something stronger than perfume to make them THAT happy!
Some might say “this fragance’s the dope”?.
Everytime i smell Happy in some women, i just can’t help but think of Legally Blonde 😛
Yes, they were paid! Money does wonders 😉
I’ve got the happy form men deoderant.
Reminds me of the wedding video scene from THE SIXTH SENSE: “Make her happy… I’m talking Julie-Andrews-spinnin’-around-like-a-mental-patient-on-a-mountaintop-happy”
