Coach will launch Poppy, a new fragrance for women, in July. The name is borrowed from the Coach Poppy fashion line, and it will be the first Coach fragrance to launch directly in department stores.
Poppy is a fruity floral with notes of cucumber flower, mandarin, freesia, jasmine, water lily, gardenia, crème brûlée accord, cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla and whipped marshmallow.
Coach Poppy will be available in 50 ml Eau de Parfum, and in a purse spray and body lotion. (via wwd)
I see toothache gourmands are still in style then. Really cute bottle though!
Exactly what I was thinking.
I don’t know why, but I’m not loving that bottle. I think this one is aimed younger than the first 2 (?)
Maybe it’s the Love’s Baby Soft pink color of the juice?
The bottle looks like they couldn’t decide on one concept, so they just went with all of them. I don’t like it either.
Yeah, that might be it. The bow doesn’t match the cap, and the label doesn’t match anything.
Cute bottle! whipped marshmallows kinda scare me….a little stomachache inducing?
It sounds really sweet.
Just what the world needs, another fruity floral!
Yep!
I hope it just goes all out and smells like a sugar explosion. I like the bottle and I could use a new gourmand fragrance. But I’ve been told that my love of sweets makes me not unlike a Christmas Elf.
It sure sounds like it will be the sugar explosion, but who knows.
I love your post and your name is HILARIOUS! Devilbunnies! ABSURD GENIUS! 🙂
I am disappointed about this fragrance because their first releases for men and women were quite good and pretty interesting, particularly the mens. This looks awful from the bottle to the juice.
I agree. I actually think their fragrances are rather good. If this one is consistent then the quality should be high, but my fear is that targeting to twentysomethings will bring fruity horror.
I Find it Adorably Beautiful! And there is nothing in the notes that i am not liking… I can pretty much be sure it’s not going to be a candied sweetnees mess! just with the other notes, it’s sounding somewhat like Juicy Couture and that is some Juice I ADORE! Loving IT!
I think you are truly looking at this fragrance through the right prism. Most people here including myself are reactionary in our opinions about this fragrance. We find it banal and superfluous. There is after all something to be said for frivolity.
Thank You! How Nice of you!
Oh jeez, just kill me now – whipped marshmallow?!
Ironically, poppies are scentless. 🙂
I find “marshmallow” impression/accord to be the most pleasant of gourmande-type essences for me. I don’t know if the “creme brulee” note is something entirely different or just the first evolution of the marshmallow, but the combo of both might be overkill.
Slightly off topic: I really like Coach’s new “Poppy” line. It’s the direction they should’ve gone in with the whole brand.
I love marshmallow, too. Bath and Body works had a ‘vanilla pear’ scent this past Christmas that was a very marshmallow-y scent. And I also think Coach Poppy is nice. So, I agree, might check this out.
I really, really hate the red bow and red plaque.
I was pleasantly surprised by Coach’s Freesia splash, out recently, so I might try this as well. Even if it does seem a bit sweet for someone of my, um, more mature years….
Im so juvenile! I like it! It’s just another super sweet fruity floral but I like it! It’s my favorite from Coach so far! I’m a child! LOL! : )
Ok I know what it smells like. The top smells just like Circus Fantasy and it dries down to smell just like the original Fantasy! LOL! They put the too together! But I still like it! LOL! : )
I bought the purse spray in this yesterday. I really like it, it is sweet but it is different than alot of other fruity/florals I have tried. I hope they will offer it in a giftset later.
Here’s a new Poppy. : ) http://fashionista.com/2011/04/poppy-flower-the-latest-fragrance-in-coachs-stable/
Thanks! Silly name, IMHO.
I know that there are a lot of fruity florals out right now, but this one really sets itself apart for me. Some might not be too keen on the marshmallow, vanilla, and creme-brulee notes in it – they want to smell good, but not like dessert. While this is definitely sweet, I think the fresher notes in there like cucumber, sandalwood and jasmine tone it down and keep it from being toothache-inducing. But then I have a history of liking perfumes that make my mom wrinkle her nose and say, “you smell like you just walked out of a candy factory.”
