It sure looks like they had fun. And Usain Bolt seems like a really nice guy (unlike some champions who seem to get a little extra arrogant)…..but when I look at this stuff, I can’t help but think : drugstore fragrance…..
Has anyone sniffed it? Is it even out yet?
He does seem like a nice guy. Can’t say that was a terribly exciting video though.
Have never smelled a Puma fragrance ever!
the fragrance, the video —I think I’m sort of at the polar opposite end of the demographic spectrum….. 😀
Did anyone else notice the fungus growing over the stylist’s eye? Freaked me out a little.
That was most interesting.
it was extremely creepy—I couldn’t decide if she is missing an eye so had a stylish feathered eye patch or was just so incredibly STUPID that she thought appearing to only have one eye might be fun….Let’s just assume that by the end of the day she had a horrendous headache from eye strain on an organ that is , oh, I don’t know…DESIGNED TO WORK AS A PAIR!!!? gah!
isn’t Usain from Jamaica? Why does the fragrance copy and stylist talk about the Africa theme for the commercial?
Africa is the theme for the fragrance. Some people were bothered that they used UB for an Africa-inspired fragrance, but you know, think of the zillions of perfumes where the “inspiration” and/or “theme” of the scent does not match the ethnicity of the model — it’s more frequent than not.
Usain is Jamaican……ok, technically he must have African roots, but I think it’s a little insulting to imply that just because he’s black that the rest of us don’t know the difference between Jamaican and African. But I guess that’s nit-picking —-clearly they wanted a FAMOUS athlete (because they’re Puma) who is also a person of color. Usain is pretty likeable so I can see why he seems a natural pick for the front person. It might have been nice had they selected an Olympic champion who is actually FROM Africa….but I can’t really think of any that have the same kind of name recognition that Usain Bolt has. Plus, I’m glad to see him getting some cool endorsement deals—he’s worked hard and deserves it.
