Tom Ford has launched Azure Lime, the latest addition to the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection:
This sparkling fragrance gives a fresh, unexpected spin to timeless essences.
Vibrant citrus notes, sophisticated florals, warm woods, and sensual musk evoke the easy elegance and relaxed style of a the [sic] paradisiacal island of Mustique.
Tom Ford Azure Lime is available in 50 ($180) or 250 ($450) ml Eau de Parfum, and can be found now at Neiman Marcus. (via neimanmarcus)
Update: see a review of Tom Ford Azure Lime.
Hmmmm, is that a swimming pool in the background or just a mosaic? This sounds great, although the TFPC can be hit or miss with me. I’ll definitely give it a sniff next time I venture into NM. I hope NST will review it!
Hit or miss with me too. Assume it’s a tiled pool of some sort?
sure looks like a pool liner to me too. Must be the”azure ” part” of his blue/green theme.
I know his Private Blend line is niche, but god, I wish it weren’t so insanely expensive! Though people must be buying it, because he just keeps on cranking them out–I mean, he’s up to 17 now, not including the musks.
I don’t suppose I’ll even bother trying this, because I know that at that price I’d never buy it. It does sound nice, though.
There are a few I really like, but IMHO (and I know many people will disagree with me) they’re insanely overpriced. There are fragrances I’d pay that much for, but not these.
Pretty much. I’ve given quite a few of these a sniff at Neiman’s, but I just can’t find the love to spend that much. A lot of niche’ perfumes are becoming more and more overpriced and in most cases they do not smell ‘good enough’ to fit their pricetag. Sure, I spend this and more on perfumes all the time, but I guess like you I just don’t personally find these worth the money.
I really like the Oud Wood, that one is still my favorite. No way I’d pay that much for it though.
I really like the Oud Wood. I also like Amber Absolute and Tobacco Vanille enough to buy large decants of them when they were on special because they are so expensive. I also really like Noir de Noir and I received a bottle of it this week as a gift. The box says it contains treemoss extract and oakmoss extract. I’m not up to the minute with IFRA restrictions, but this suggests to me that real oakmoss is being used. Can it be? I thought it was forbidden now.
Not forbidden, just restricted — that’s why they have to list it.
Julia, you and I must be on the same wavelength, because Amber Absolute and Tobacco Vanille are the two that I like, too. But I can find amber and tobacco scents that are at least as nice for a lot less money.
I must be losing it, because I have actually hit the point where I think, “$180 isn’t so bad!” I also have to admit that my eyes shot out of my head when I saw the words “Azure Lime,” because where lime is concerned, I am cuckoo for cocoa puffs. (Although too much thought about the name has led to me finding it annoying–azure? Blue lime? Huh?) And I have liked all the private collection offerings of his, so there you go.
Not to enable anyone, but if you do like any of his others Saks has a 10% off fragrance going on right now. Code is FRIEND3.
Last thing: Loving “paradisiacal.” 🙂 Best non-word of the day.
Nope. It’s a word. This time the OED does come to the rescue since I’m at the office:
1684 T. BURNET “Theory of Earth” I. 259 ‘The…passage of the paradisiacal rivers under-ground…’
Who knew? 😉
Joe, I am such a doofus. This is what I get for never reading anything thoroughly. I saw “sic” and “paradisiacal” and figured the silly word was erroneous, rather than the far more obvious “of a the.” Like I said–I’m a doofus.
Oh geez… not a doofus at all! I wouldn’t have known that was a legitimate word for sure unless I looked it up. As far as I’m concerned, Milton and his peers and predecessors wrote in a foreign language.
Could not agree more. tried most of them and concluded Clive Chriatian is a better investment if one even wanted to spend that much money.
This description “…Vibrant citrus notes, sophisticated florals, warm woods, and sensual musk ” isn’t it so generic that if would be fit to describe at least half of commercial and a good part of niche perfumes?
I sampled this last weekend at Neimans and it was a bit too masculine for my tastes. I found it to be more on the warm side and not very “limey”. Kind of disppointing since I am always on the lookout for a great freshly cut lime kind of fragrance. Haven’t found it yet.
Lime fragrances are so often too “squat” — they smell like Rose’s lime juice instead of real lime. Or if they smell like fresh lime, they last 15 minutes. Oh well.
I like Limes by Floris. I find if I wear it in the summer months with the warm weather and body heat helps the fragrance last. The scented mosturizer along with it helps too.
It’s true–lime does not last. 🙁 Pity, as I love it so.
me and Tom are not BFFs…. the only fragrance of his that I find wearable at all is Tobacco Vanille…and I have to be in the mood for that one. So a new TF release doesn’t inspire the least bit of lemming (somebody make a note of that: no lemming for me today!)
Ah, but the day is not over.
shhhhh….lemmings all sleeping peacefully in a pile……
Uh oh, Daisy…Did you hear that? 😉
I know, maybe I should log off while I’m ahead… 😉
LOL…did not mean that *I* had anything up my sleeve. Just that Daisy is online, and it’s a big world out there, LOL…
well, can you blame me? online there’s oodles of perfumes calling my name…..off line there’s….laundry, vacuuming, library books to return and jewelry to make (but at least that’s fun and does increase the perfume budget.) Unfortunately I have to get thru the iccky jobs to get to the “fun” jobs….so I had better get to it.
Everyone have a fabulously fragrant Thursday! 🙂
(waving as I go)
Hey, was only teasing! Did not mean to chase you off to laundry & vacuuming.
This does sound like it would interest me to take a sniff.
And yes, they’re too expensive for me. I might — might — be persuaded to spend that kind of money for Champaca, but that’s probably the only one. And it *is* very nice to have a decant of Tobacco Vanille.
That Champaca is kind of growing on me, I have to say….
Bought Champaca two weeks ago and love it more every day…
Champaca Absolute and Velvet Gardenia and Tobacco Vanille are my absolute FAVORITES from the Tom Ford Line… since they discontinued selling it here in Michigan, i can only guess what the others smell like, so… will have to just buy them blind, Shucks!
The Champaca is pretty. It doesn’t tempt me at that price either though.
Is the name of this meant to pull in the people who like Azuree? The prices are becoming absurd. Haven’t tried the Oud Wood, but now it’s inevitable. Back to my window washing….
I wonder…early reports about this scent all called it “Azuree Lime”.
I tried Azure Lime on Sunday and didn’t like at all. Harsh masculine and boring. My husband didn’t like it either. But I finally found my first FB worthy Tom Ford. This is Bois Marocain. It’s very nice woody scent right on my alley. So I know what gift I want for my coming next month birthday. Oud Wood is other nice one but it doesn’t last on my skin and frankly M7 is even better TF’s oud based creation.
I like the Bois Marocain quite a bit, too.
Thanks!
I Like Lime! I Like Tom Ford. So…. methinks this means i need to get a sniff of this! 🙂
The first releases of The Private Blend are still my favorite. The musk collection WAY overpriced for what they are. The only one I like from the recent releases is Arabian Wood. I owned Bois Marocain and sold it just the other day. Smells great, but gone in a blink! Sampled the Azure Lime a few weeks ago…same thing. Vanished in a blink.
I dont ever want to smell it. Im afraid i’ll fall in luv w/ it! : )
My interest leaves the room the moment it reads “warm woods and sensual musk”.
Love the name though!
Time to pander to the masses!
