Aramis has launched Aramis Cool Blend, a new limited edition fresh chypre for men. The new fragrance aims to bring the "next generation" into the Aramis fold.
This modern interpretation of Aramis is a bold blend of fresh bergamot, lemon peel, lime zest, cinnamon, white pepper, golden amber, sandalwood and creamy suede accord.
Aramis Cool Blend is available now at Dillards, in 110 ml Eau de Toilette, $52. (quote via dillards, additional information via bellemania.de)
Update: Aramis Cool Blend was developed by perfumer Carlos Benaïm, and "eatures the spicy complex that’s found in the Aramis Classic scent but layers on a fresh facet". (via wwd)
Hm…the notes don’t *sound* fresh…at least, not in a bad way. Might be nice! Doesn’t sound particularly chypre-ish either, though.
I agree Boo. When I see the dreaded ‘fresh’ word, I get sceered. But these notes sound like it could be decent. Worth a sniff at least. The original is such a classic.
No, doesn’t sound chypre-ish at all, but few modern chypres are chypre-ish. What can you do.
If it’s half as good as the original, could be wonderful. Obviously, I’m a big fan of Aramis.
I loved Devin, and keep meaning to try the new version.
I’ve never smelled the original to my knowledge (though maybe in a crowd) but this sounds good. Not much like a chypre and definitely not fresh–I don’t think fresh when I think cinnamon and suede–but I’d like to try it.
I am really enjoying this fragrance. I was also a big fan of Aramis Cool and Aramis Gold.
Good!
Aramis…. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Aramis and Polo both bring back memories of being young and in love.
🙂
or young and in college….one of my friends had a smarmy, cheating boyfriend who used to dump a bottle of Aramis over his head on a daily basis—-only a slight exaggeration—I had one class with him and found that it’s really hard to hold your breath for 55 minutes…..eyes watering….it was like being bludgeoned by the bottle.
I’m pretty sure that I like my memory better than yours. 😉
Ha! yeah, I can certainly see why! All I can remember about that class was the desperate hope that there’d be a seat left near a window….
it wasn’t that Aramis smelled BAD…..it was the sheer overwhelming quantity of the stuff….and boy howdy, did he think he was hot stuff! lol
I still haven’t gotten arount to trying any of those Aramis classic relaunches from fall. I wonder if they’re still getting counter space at Macy’s or Nordstrom.
I’m not familiar with the original Aramis, even, though I’m a longtime fan of Tuscany. I assume this is technically an Aramis flanker, right? It sounds like it could be good, or at least worth a sniff.
I guess so! I didn’t tag it as a flanker, but maybe I should. I don’t remember the original Aramis all that well either, but I think both Nordstrom & Bloomies still have the Gentleman’s Collection series.
Was by Macy’s earlier today Joe. They still had the new Aramis collection on display. I used to wear Tuscany AND New West many years ago. I left Macy’s empty handed today.
New West was a terrific scent, wasn’t it? I loved it back in the day.
Do you think my 16 year old would like this Aramis? He loves to wear Mistouko, he wears Shalimar most of the time.
Wowee! Excellent parenting job!
Yes, I agree! no axe in sight—-good job!
Although you may not be so pleased when your youngish perfumisto decides to have flagrantly EXPENSIVE tastes….or be like me: proud but broke! 😉
LOL!!
No kidding! I am impressed. Please send him to me. My son had the nerve to tell me he like the purple dragon (?) scent of one of those sprays. I bought him a bottle of Old Spice instead, but I’ll never tell him that I wear it, too. He is only 12 so we have time.
LOL. No.
Why divert him away from Mitsouko and Shalimar? That’s awesome, your kid smells great!
Thats what all the girls say, LOL
I’m 50/50 about the original Aramis. But, Aramis 900 is fabulous. It’s supposedly a male version of Aromtics Elixir. But the difference is almost imperceptible.
The brand name Aramis does have a certain 1970s ring to it – but they are interesting fragrances.
They did make interesting fragrances, and hopefully they’ll do so again.
I’m also a big fan of Aramis, so I hope this one is as nice, as well.
Might be!
Argh, just noticing it’s a limited edition. You wouldn’t think they have the name recognition with the target age group to be able to swing that.
Maybe it’s the same idea as that Ralph Lauren Polo update that was meant for “sons of the men who wore the original Polo.” In any case, “the next generation” after those who were around for the original Aramis are pretty much mid-late twenties… not super young.
Yes, I would think same idea.
Sounds Yummy! Me Likey! 😀
Good 🙂
