I heart David Attenborough! And his wonder at the world seems to make him indestructible–he’s had that white hair since I was a child!
And his wonder at the world makes him seem like a child too, don’t you think? Something about the way he gestures, and looks so pleased with everything.
I heart Sir David too. I could listen to that voice and watch him trudging through the fields and happily pointing out birds and insects and plants and artifacts and things all day. Somehow — something to do with his open mind and intelligent and erudite manner — I find him incredibly reassuring. Thanks for the clip.
Yes, he really is. Plus, I’m fascinated by the titan arum.
This was a great clip. I find the flower fascinating as well and hope to experience one someday. Not too close, of course, but just so I can add it to the list of… interesting smells I’ve tried.
Oh, and that gorgeous Oxford-Cambridge English accent. How could I forget? 😉
I think anything isn’t bad in all over world but we dont know that thing where is suitable then we think it’s bad!
Thanks for this post
True!
We had one of these bloom last year at SFSU-it was the most amazing bloom I have ever seen, and the strongest smell too. I came on the day it initially bloomed and the next day as it began to close it does smell like rotting flesh but the color of the interior of the bloom is such an amazing beautiful burgundy-red. I can check that off the list of things to do and smell!!
Lucky you!
There is a titan arum( Amorphophallus titanum) flower currently beginning to bloom at Milwaukee Public Museum

Thanks! I posted about it here last week, that’s why I was looking for a video of one.
