CO Bigelow Winter Lemon, Ginger Mentha & Elixir White ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 13 October 2009 24 Comments

CO Bigelow Winter Lemon, Ginger Mentha & Elixir White fragrances

CO Bigelow has launched three new fragrances, Winter Lemon, Ginger Mentha and Elixir White:

Winter Lemon (above left) ~ "C.O. Bigelow's delightful new winter fragrance combines sparkling lemon notes, velvety winter fig, sweet black currant and warm, sensual undertones of musk, rose and sandalwood." In 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Ginger Mentha (above center) ~ "This warm-yet-revitalizing fragrance blends comforting Ginger and refreshing Peppermint for a delicious scent." In 100 ml Eau de Toilette. (Note: this might be a relaunch)

Elixir White (above right) ~ "Modern, bright and refined, C.O. Bigelow's Elixir White blends clean citrus notes of bergamot, grapefruit and mandarin with undertones of peppery wood spices." In 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

Aside from the Ginger Mentha (which sounds like it would smell like a Tom’s of Maine toothpaste), these sound pretty good. I’ve at least liked the CO Bigelow bath products I’ve tried.

I’d like to try both of the women’s, although have to say that their Lemon perfume didn’t seem nearly as nice to me as their Lemon body products.

I like the sound of the Winter Lemon and Elixir White – of course, the EW will probably have the dread eau d’cat urine on me.

Perhaps, although at CO Bigelow prices it probably isn’t very strong!

The Elixir White bottle made me smile. I doubt I’ll remember it by the time the weather warms up around here again, which is unfortunate, since it was obviously made for me: “Modern, bright and refined…” :-)

At one time they launched 4 of them in that bottle (a couple years ago I think) but don’t know how many they still make. But obviously you need this one!

I wouldn’t mind smelling that Winter Lemon, but I’d never buy that size, and as you say, I’d probably like it better in a cream like their regular lemon body cream.

Isn’t it only about $20 though? I’ll probably never use the whole bottle of the B&BW signature scents that I bought, but since I only paid $5 for them at the outlet, I don’t really care.

$30, actually, but too much juice at any price. It looks like there are different products in the Ginger Mentha scent, though, but not Winter Lemon.

Wonder if they do any of the trial sizes w/ Bigelow as they do w/ the other BBW scents?

The Elixir White and the Winter Lemon sound good, but Ginger Mentha- Oy! I’m seeing visions of Altoids dancing in my head.

I cannot ABIDE ginger in perfume. I think it’s cause I ate so much candied ginger for morning sickness that it turns my stomach and makes my nose HURT.

I adore ginger perfumes…but I can see why you don’t!

alltheprettythings, I can totally relate, only with me it was ginger Altoids. It’s unfortunate because I bought one of the Burberry colognes for my hubby, and ended up not being able to be too close to him when he wore it because of the huge ginger note.

I like the Bigelow Lemon EDP, though it has the strength of an EDT on me, and think the other two look good, especially the Winter Lemon. If they make a Lemon Pomegranate I’ll buy it in a heartbeat. I love that line of Bigelow products.

ummm. . . I have a fig tree in my yard, and “velvet winter figs” are a FIGment of somebody’s imagination. Figs don’t develop in winter, not even in warm climates. Unless they mean the crop of berbas (a weird habit of figs to produce a crop of small pre-figs that drop off the tree when they are the size of match-heads) that come in very early Spring. Huh. I must be too literal. I’m done with fig fragrances, though.

The Mint/Ginger sounds sinus-clearing and unpleasant at the same time. The third one in the odd bottle, though, might be kind of interesting.

LOL…my guess is that you’re putting way more thought and logic into this than they are. They probably mean “velvety figs that would smell good in a perfume in winter”.

I’m honestly not a big fan of the Winter Lemon. The original Lemon EDP wasn’t the greatest either.

I LOVE the Ginger Mentha though. It smells a lot more ginger than mint. Elixir white smelled okay, but it was weirdly strong.

Where did you find them? I went to B&BW today hoping to give them a sniff and they didn’t have them out yet. The SA looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about when I asked about them too.

I can’t imagine peppermint and ginger together. I would like to smell this out of curiosity.
