Parfums Nicolas Danila Aladin's Gardens

Parfums Nicolas Danila is a new brand debuting with seven fragrances in the collection Aladin's Gardens / Les Jardins d'Aladin. The scents are reportedly "100% allergen free fragrances with a high level of natural ingredients".

European Gardens / Les Jardins Européens ~ "Gardens of romantism where Polite Love hides behind secret clumps. A lyric duo of freshly cut leaves combined with Anise, wrapped in Seringa bouquet, with Jasmine and Iris. The soft delicate fragrance evolves in the sensual background of Musks and Woods."

Arabian Gardens / Les Jardins Arabes ~ "In the mystery and sensuality of the oriental nights. A fresh and airy top notes of cut leaves warmed by a blend of spicy floral heart of ’Iris, Rose, Saffron and Ivy. Sustained by rich woody notes of Vetiver, Nagar Motta with its oud accents."

Asian Gardens / Les Jardins Asiatiques ~ "A spiritual meditation in a refined and delicate garden. Bamboo leaves, mint evokes the wetness of the rain laid down on a delicate bouquet of Cyclamen, and a waterlogged Crocus. Incense, Vetiver, Chinese Almond and Ginko Biloba bring a mysterious woody warmth to this Garden."

Amerindian Gardens / Les Jardins Amérindiens ~ "A trip in the deep secrets of the Amerindian gardens where floral, fruity and woody notes are combined. Sparkling and fresh start with Grapefruit, combined to green notes of Ivy and Violet. Fruity heart of Rhubarb sustained by a floral blend of Rose and Jasmine. On a woody base of warm and dry Cedarwood from Virginia.

Amazonian Gardens / Les Jardins Amazoniens ~ "Unexpected scents in the secret of the Amazonian Jungle. Wet atmosphere in the depth created by Yerba Maté with its tea aromas. A floral heart of Orange Blossom, Passion Flower combined to Peruvian Heliotrop softened by Moss and Sandalwood."

Polynesian Gardens / Les Jardins Polynésiens ~ "An exotic and heavenly trip in a floral marine and solar garden. A fragrance in Paradise, with its fresh breeze of marine notes evoking in Bora Bora, Apetahi, a legendary love. A heart of Tiaré, Frangipani flowers and Vanilla give a sunny and bright atmosphere of the Polynesian Islands.

Aboriginal Gardens / Les Jardins Aborigènes ~ "A trip between earth and sky, into the australian bush. First, a start of sparkling citrus notes in the air… Then a rich blend of exotic yellow and red fruits combined to a dazzling Boronia flower sustained by a soft and warm back of Sandalwood with its milky notes and powdery vanillic Tonka Beans."

Parfums Nicolas Danila Aladin's Gardens will be available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum in bottles designed by Pierre Dinand; 177€ each.

100% allergen free, eh. So it’s not possible to be allergic to sandalwood, flowers, vanilla……someone might want to point them in the direction of the dictionary.

aside from liberties taken with the definition of allergen, I like the bottles. They do look like the colour descriptions of the jewels on the trees of the cave in the story.

        I love the bottles!

Supposedly they’ve removed all of the allergens.

I didn’t realise you could do that? Wonder if that affects the smell.

Many natural materials are molecularly re-engineered these days. Usually that’s done precisely to affect the smell, in this case, no idea but would think so.

Wow, I had no idea there were allergen-free fragrances. Guessing I still wouldn’t be able to get away with wearing it to work. Love those bottles, though.

Miss Kitty, they claim to be the first allergen-free, no idea if that’s true or not.

Hmm, maybe I should buy one and test it out on my allergic coworker? It would all be in the name of science, of course, so I needn’t feel bad about buying yet another bottle of perfume. Because it would be for science.

            9 October 2009 at 1:06 pm

Pigoletto said it all, though I have to say… doesn’t molecularly rearranging natural materials sort of take the “natural” out of it?

          • boojum says:
            9 October 2009 at 1:06 pm

Er…re-engineering. Not been a good week.

Most brands don’t see it that way…they call it “purifying” 🙂

          • Daisy says:
            9 October 2009 at 3:43 pm

yeah, well that’s nice of them….I have to go “purify” my refrigerator today…there are a few things way in the back that are a bit TOO natural….specifically a bag of apples that are making cider against my will.

I agree with those who like the bottles (almost anything in yellow, orange, or green glass works for me!), but “ack” regarding another multi-fragrance launch and it’s unlikely I’ll ever even seek these out.

Amerindian? But there were lots of different tribes who lived in completely different environments.
Since it’s cedarwood from VA they should have called it ~*~*Pocahontas Garden*~*~*~

European and Asian Gardens seem pretty silly to me too.

Yeah, these kinds of things, e.g. Parfum D’Empire, end up having to squish together thousands of years of history and diversity.

I was hoping for Amerindian they would have something more outrageous but potentially lovely: squash (love the smell of a freshly opened squash I’m taking the seeds out of) or tomato stem, or nuts… you know, a range of New World things.

Rhubarb comes from Asia anyway…not sure these are meant to be historically accurate, just inspirations?

Exactly. It’s hardly a tribute to Native Americans if most of the ingredients in the fragrance are native to Europe and Asia.

Good for you, Moon_Grrl (yes, I remember meeting you in person!) and Robin. I thought I’d have to be the one to point out the non-nativeness of those notes. Some day I’m going to take a perfumer to a prairie and set them straight.

Also I noticed that the “amer-indian” garden perfume didn’t have the right notes from the plants that are native to there.

The trouble with multiple bottles like that is that you always see them in the advertising as a group and the effect is smashing, and then you see one bottle all by itself and it’s a disappointment. You have to buy them all. Pokemon perfume.

And I don’t want to seem vulgar but right smack in the middle of the bottle’s graphic design is a rather hieroglyphic-looking side view of a penis with an oversized scrotum. It’s not just me and my dirty mind: I mean, it’s right there. Can this possibly have been deliberate?

I’m sorry, I really wanted to read about these but I just couldn’t get beyond the ‘romantism’ of Polite Love hiding behind ‘secret clumps’. HOOTING with laughter, so much so that I can hardly type, let alone read further. That hardly ever happens; and I really needed it right now.

    THANK you for posting!

Couldn’t stand it any more & had to go look at the French. I think they meant groves:

      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bosquet

The “polite love” is amour courtois…courtois can mean polite, but I wonder if in this context is closer to “courtly”.

But you have to wonder who all these companies hire as translators!

Like Lillybeth I am curious about the fragrances. And specially how they did to be allergent free! Does it mean there are not allergens at all or only not allergens to be declared.

I have to say I am a bit curious about the Aboriginal Gardens… it’s not often you see a perfume inspired by the Australian bush (which is where I grew up)… not that the listed notes sound particularly like they would evoke that environment BUT I am curious…

Wouldn’t refuse if someone would make me a present of the entire collection, they must look great on a dresser, all of them!
