I kinda like Enrique. Interesting that Azzaro is launching a big campaign for such an “old” fragrance… but I think that’s great, as it’s certainly better than so much men’s dreck of late. Not my favorite 80s fougère, but I need to pull it out again for sampling.
Agree — wish more brands would spend on their classics instead of launching more dreck.
I’ll be terribly shallow here and say that Enrique sure is good-lookin’! And good to see that there’s a new campaign for a classic. However, I’m (obviously, grin) not in the market for an 80’s fougere, as nice as they smell on men.
Shallow is allowed! He does not move me, personally, not sure why.
Not to pick nits, but Azzaro PH is a ’70s fragrance; it was introduced in 1978. However, it certainly set the stage for the many huge, aromatic fougeres of the ’80s.
My quick thoughts on the frag: it’s deservedly a classic and a steal at the prices that you can usually find it for. I can’t imagine not having it in my wardrobe. On the other hand, I don’t reach for it very often.
Thanks!
Finally some marketing that I agree with. I hope this is the beginning of a trend. I would love for some of the long dead fragrances to be zapped back into life and use. Even if the bolts in their necks and the patchwork way in which they were put back together makes them a little odd to behold.
As for the fragrance I agree, a classic and definitely worth the money. Yet, I hardly wear it. It’s like pea-coat. Straightforward. Powerful. Classic. But at the same time it does not go with sneakers or sandals and should never… ever… be worn in hot weather.
LOL…love the comparison to a pea coat!
Agrreing with what’s been said. Great to see a company putting money in a classic.
But Azzaro PH is not to my liking. So, I would compare it not to a pea coat, but to a loud funky print polyester disco shirt: it brings back memories, and can be dusted off for a special occasion or for a good laugh but I wouldn’t be caught dead wearing it. 🙂
