Victorinox 125 Years, Swiss Army Mountain Water for Her ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 12 June 2009 23 Comments

Victorinox 125 Years fragrance for men

Victorinox will launch Victorinox 125 Years, a limited edition fragrance for men marking the company's 125th anniversary, this month. Victorinox 125 Years was "inspired by the simple, seductive charm of a birthday cake" and is described as "elegant and masculine with a touch of tradition".

The fragrance has notes of cardamom, grapefruit, bitter cacao powder, larch wood, hay and tonka bean.

Victorinox 125 Years will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

Also new from Victorinox: Swiss Army Mountain Water For Her, a "fresh and light" fragrance with bergamot, neroli, violet, mate, cedar and hay. It will be available in 100 ml Eau de Toilette.

The women’s sounsd nice, with the hay. That said, I’ve never come across a scent that truly captures the smell of the air in the mountains (at least for me, the ones in Southern France) – crisp, pure cold air mixed with herbs and wildflowers. However, Eau de Rochas deserves kudos for really smelling like a clear, cold mountain stream running through rocks.

I also think that’s the first time I’ve seen cake used as inspiration for a men’s scent?

Good question — can’t think of another offhand. I think it sounds great though.

Both of these sound good. Love cardamom and hay.

    No. 1

    The larch.

…had to do it, every time I hear ‘larch’ it just comes out lol I wonder what a larch smells like?

The LARCH. Exactly what I was thinking, too…

Just having the word “cake” in the description will make it appealing to men….ever seen a man that doesn’t perk up at the mention of cake?? uh-huh….you can whisper the word 3 rooms away and they’ll still scurry in and say “did you say cake? do we have cake?” the eagerness is almost shameful.

Ok, well, the cake one confuses me mightily, but maybe it would make sense after I smelled it. The women’s sounds fantastic though…have to check that one out.

I don’t see this line in the US anywhere, but maybe the discounters have it?

Well, good thing I have Euro relatives, and a sister whose employer is based in the Netherlands, then! :D Doubt I’d go that far out of my way though, unless I heard reports it was fabulous.

I, too, was “inspired by the simple, seductive charm of a birthday cake.” It was a gateway drug, which led to other seductive charms, such as Lindt chocolate and Haagen Daz, causing me to put on 30 pounds in the last two years.

I just love wacky ad copy.

I love La Base from the swiss alps. This is Swiss Army Mountain Water. LOL The first thought I had was it would be a multi functional perfume: Get me a good man. Make me lose weight. Fix my sink, give me multiple orgasms. etc…
    I have no respect for anything do I? ; – )
