Molinard has launched 160 Eau de Parfum (above left), a new feminine fragrance to celebrate their 160th anniversary:

It's a beautiful bouquet sensual, floral, classical and modern. The fragrance comes in a superb deep black gala bottle made with CRYSTALLIZED ™ - Swarovski Elements.

The notes include hyacinth, lily of the valley, cyclamen, ylang ylang, cedar, sandalwood and oakmoss.

Molinard 160 is available in 100 ml for 64€. (via molinard)

And to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the UK department store chain Selfridges, Creed has launched Rosalie (shown above right), a limited edition fragrance for women named after Gordon Selfridge's wife.

The fragrance notes feature English rose, jasmine, lily, lemon, bergamot, coriander, pepper and berry.

Creed Rosalie is available at Selfridges in 50 ml Eau de Parfum for £265; 100 bottles were created. (via cosmeticsinternational, selfridges)

Ooh. The black bottle on its own would have been really nice, but the crystal 160 makes it look kinda tacky. I’m actually a bit surprised. It’s not really in line with the rest of their packaging, that kind of thing.

I can’t decide about that bottle. I do like the opaque black, and the box looks gorgeous. You might be right about the crystals though.

Anything that can be described as “bling” is probably not a good thing. :) LOVE the Creed bottle, though! Too bad I have never been impressed by their fragrances. (And on second look, it kind of looks like a flask, which makes it suddenly less appealing.)

Pretty sure that’s one of Creed’s leather bottles. I don’t like yellow so that takes care of it for me!

The more I look at it the more I suspect it was originally a plain black bottle which unfortunately fell into the hands of a higher up at Molinard who happened to be drunk and had just received their new Bedazzler in the mail that day.

I like the style and color of the bottle, but the crystals are lame and tired. I’ve never been impressed by Creed either and don’t like the obvious aspirational strategy.

I like some of the simpler Bond no. 9 bottles w/ crystals, but not loving them so much here. Still, might look much better in person.

I’m wondering why Molinard chose that style and color bottle for a floral. My thought is that (minus the crystals) it would make a handsome container for a masculine scent. I rather liked the Creed container, but then I do like yellow. Not that I’m shelling out that kind of money for a Creed…

You know, I was quite happy with the little rectangular 1-oz PdN bottles. A nice weight in the hand, simple and solid, no floof. So now the question is: are my tastes tailored, or simplistic?

perhaps an enchanting blend of both?

The Molinard could be the greatest scent ever created by man or beast and I would never buy it because of that blingy bottle…

That’s just how sick I am, folks.

The bottle has been woefully miscast. It needs to be sold with the name “Sean John” in front of it.

I like the bottle for the Molinard… and i like the idea of adding Cyclamen to a Chypre Fragrance as well, I do love the smell of Cyclamen (L’eau De Issey anyone????) and it sounds very worthy of possible greatness… but i can only hope for that! LOL! but my interest is highly piqued… as for the Creed… haven’t ever been a fan so this one can pass by on it’s merry little way!

It is all the same to me…I never get to try anything by Molinard! I do wish they had better distribution in the US.

Ah, that one I have smelled. I was exaggerating…I just never get to try the new ones since there aren’t testers anywhere.

Holy Cow!!! That Creed translates to $423.19. So far I haven’t smelled a Creed (or anything else actually) worth that kind of money.

Boy, do I like the sound of that Molinard fragrance! I might get a little decant in a nice plain little bottle. Count me among the anti-blingers. Maybe the little devils could be pried off? :-)

Gosh, where are you going to get a decant though?? Would be surprised if TPC had it, but who knows.

Email TPC & see if they’re going to get it…I just sort of doubt it. And otherwise, no, no idea!

They’re flatbacks and presumably applied with jeweler’s glue…so yeah I bet you could pop them off with a skinny blade. You’d have to be careful not to scratch the glass. Getting the residue off would be the trick—probably a fingernail would be the best bet before solvents.

My thought process regarding the Creed fragrance – Ooooh it would be funny to have a perfume with the same name as my pet lizard, hm the description sounds nice…SHOOT 465 pounds, it is not to be alas.

Rosalie, the day will come when a perfume can match your reptilian loveliness and not break my bank. But that day is not today.

Perhaps Rosalie would be content with a smallish decant? (or maybe just another nice nap under the heat lamp…)
