Model Julia Restoin-Roitfeld in a "making of" for an upcoming Jil Sander fragrance called Jil (and yes, they've already done at least one scent with that name). The music is Pumpkin Soup by Kate Nash.

Doubt those almost naked shots will be shown in the U.S…such puritans we are.
yeah, apparently WE are pure and SHE is sexy.
Ha ha! Good one!
I know they like to put varying degrees of naked women in perfume ads….I’m afraid it doesn’t influence me at all….I see boobies everyday (my own) so I’m just not impressed.
LOL!
Did not look like any of those were in the shots they were showing at the end, right? Maybe I need to watch again.
The Opium ad with Sophie Dahl was in American magazines
But Sophie was photoshopped till she looked artficial like porcelain. No thinking of naked skin at all.
and this model is wearing jeans and a sheer thinggy
Must perfume companies recycle names this way? When I was in college, I had a roommate whose very eccentric (and wealthy) great-aunt kept a succession of pet alligators in her townhouse, all of them named Fido. That made a certain kind of bizarre sense to me. But I have only just heard of the original Jil, and am awaiting a sample from TPC. Has it been discontinued? From the notes, it sounded as if it was right up my olfactory street.
Yes, they do — I find it very annoying and confusing. But I can’t tell you anything else about Jil…the video was the first I heard of the new fragrance.
Hi! Yes, the original JIL is loooovely, twas my perfume trademark, copyright, signature for some of my teens and early twenties and I only really stopped wearing it ’cause it went out of business.
Such a warm, comforting, private fragrance, though not particularly complex. Can be worn all year long, day and night, without offending anyone and pleasing some.
I have 1 last big bottle full which I managed to get my grubby hands on a year or two ago, but I believe it wasn’t stored v. well – it’s also a tester, sans cap – as it smells a wee bit different from what I remember: more rasberry and/or pear, less woods.
Please do report back and let us know what you think of JIL the 1st; I’ve never come across anyone who wore or even knows this perfume and would love to hear your take.
I will definitely report back on Jil the First. I appreciated your comment — my interest is now really piqued, so I can’t wait to try it.
HI, Enidan, I’ve been wearing Jil 1 for a couple of days, and I was surprised by how fruity it seemed to me — I was expecting something different. My favorite thing about it was that nice wallop of bergamot, which came back for a couple of return engagements, but the freesia didn’t really agree with me. I hope you can find more, though, since you love it!
Hurrah, thanks for your impressions!
I also smell a lot of fruit (raspberry, I think) in the Jil I have, but it was definitely less fruity and more woodsy when it was still being sold in shops. I remember the scent quite distinctly, and everyone who knew me around the time when I wore that fragrance agrees that’s it’s changed a bit. Sometimes I can even smell chocolate when I wear it now.
It’s probably a good thing that you don’t love this perfume — it would be horrible to find true love in a fragrance that’s been discontinued. Still, I hope you’ll enjoy wearing it while it last 🙂
