Lise Watier Neiges Eau Legere, Clean Summer Eau Fraiche ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 13 May 2009 18 Comments

Lise Watier Neiges Eau Legere fragranceClean Summer Eau Fraiche fragrance

Lise Watier has launched Neiges Eau Légère (shown above left), a new lighter summer version of Neiges:

NEIGES, the timeless fragrance, unveils a new incarnation with EAU LÉGÈRE, a light version of the EAU DE TOILETTE… suitable for even the hottest summer days. Its notes, which seem to have been extracted from the very heart of the white snowflakes, refresh the skin with a silky crystalline caress. Imbued with the contemporary feminine personality of NEIGES, the white blossom bouquet of EAU LÉGÈRE confers the elating sensation of a cool, fresh breeze.

Essences of hyacinth, lily of the valley, night-blooming jasmine, magnolia and orange blossoms, will mingle with passion in the sultry air of a summer day and ease the crisp stillness of a starry summer evening. Wrap yourself in its delicate notes, spray it on with abandon to leave an indelible fragrance on your summer memories.

Lise Watier Neiges Eau Légère is available in 50 ml. (via press release)

Clean has launched Clean Summer Eau Fraiche (shown above right), a new limited edition fragrance:

CLEAN Summer Eau Fraiche is your first class ticket to the balmy, breezy, warm weather months. This fresh, floral essence evokes the exhilarating feeling of a bright, sunny day. Italian limoncello, crisp bergamot, and rose ice create a sparkling impression that mingles with graceful notes of Mirabelle plum, Lily of the Valley, and soft musk.

Clean Summer Eau Fraiche is available now at Sephora in 60 ml Eau Fraiche. (via sephora)

I’m trying, with great difficulty, to envision the extraction process performed on the very heart of white snowflakes….
Meanwhile — the Neiges Eau Légère is sure using all the right notes to get me drooling (did I hear a bell?) —I’ve become downright Pavlovian with some of these fragrance notes.
On the other hand, the CLEAN lost me with rose ice….I’ve found that as much as I want rose accords to love me…they do not. Sour wine makes my nose twitch….in a bad way.

Daisy – thinking similar thoughts about the very heart of white snowflakes. Who writes this stuff? AND they get paid for it ! !

I like the notes too…although have a feeling it would be very fresh/clean.

Once it mingles with passion in the sultry air of a summer day, the clean’s out of here.

    Well!
    A new version of Neige!!
Seeing how it is a such a HUGE hit in Québec, I know what the streets of Montréal will smell like this summer!

I know it has fans on MakeupAlley but don’t think it has ever been “big” in the US.

The Clean one sounds nice… but the title made me laugh out loud… summer eau fraiche? Talk about redundant!

They’re not the first to use it, of course…

I once worked with a young lady whose signature scent was the original Neiges. I’ve never known anyone else to wear it – as I don’t think it’s readily available south of the Canadian border. But even after nearly 8 years, when I think of her, I recall her scent. Crazy huh?

I wore Neiges for a few years and need to revisit it; don’t think I’ve smelled it since I’ve become scent obsessed! I loved it because it was a sophisticated floral, with the emphasis on hyacinth & jasmine instead of tuberose & gardenia (neither of whom get along with me). I don’t think I’d like the summer version though, and the copy is pretty awful :)

I’ve only smelled it once, and sorry to say I don’t remember it well.

In an interview a few years ago, Lise Watier was talking about the fact that Neige has a huge following in the Middle East. I guess it’s the mental image of snow in the desert….

Oooh, I’m intrigued by the Eau Legere. The original Neiges was too intensely powdery for me so I wonder if this one will work out.
