Is there an awful lot of peach lately, or am I just noticing it because I can’t stand that note in perfume?

It does seem like peach is a trend right now….peach is a toughie because to me it most often smells like candles or airfreshener.
But that’s better than raspberry which I think takes a fecal note….ewww.

I get something far more sour of it, unfortunately.

That’s why I had to ask. I’ve tried just enough to know that peach is one of those notes I don’t like, and now it seems to be everywhere. But I wasn’t sure if it was a trend thing, or just that I’m more aware of it now that I know I don’t like it.

A good peach scent is awfully difficult to do, and you are right, there are far more peach things out there recently. I have found I do not like them, either. I think I shall pass on this one.

I think i would try this, despite the peach note and the goofy name. I’ve really been having trouble finding something for everyday that just smells nice and doesn’t distract me all day. I finally went back to Lizsport (1997) thank you Beauty Encounter!

I know lots of people liked their last one, Hippy Fizz. I never got to try it.

You might try their Funny too, if you haven’t. Not a bad little scent, but a bit heavy on the grapefruit for me. I’d probably have liked it more if the SA hadn’t tried so hard to push it on me.

Funny! was very nice, but I thought it wasn’t anything special. As in, “I will open my wallet for it” special.

This is one of the dumbest-looking bottles I have ever seen. I mean, I GET IT that they’re not going for the “classy” customer, but even so… it looks like Olive Oyl’s silhouette.

Nope, it didn’t win me either. Still, for easy and non-distracting along the lines of LizSport, one could do far worse. But I’d be more likely to fill that space with say…4711.

didn’t you know???? It is INTENTIONALLY meant to look like Olive Oyl! the first Cheap and Chic Fragrance is a Black Red and White bottle meant to evoke Olive Oyl. it’s not a mistake! 🙂 that was part of Mr. Moschino’s Tongue-In-Cheek Sense of Humour!

Nope, didn’t know – thanks for the info. Still, that doesn’t make me want to buy it! I suppose I’d prefer elegant to quirky… I mean in perfume, but I’m not a customer for the fashions, either.

I know, I know — what’s in a name, but…somehow, ‘cheap and chic’ doesn’t make my pulse race. Scene: a stylish restaurant in Manhattan. Besotted lover leans forward and asks, “What is that intoxicating fragrance??” Eeeekkk.

Peach as a perfume fragrance note doesn’t bother me nearly as much as the overused ‘water’, ‘frozen’ this or that, and ‘ozone’ notes. If memory serves, it’s been put to use extremely well in fragrances both decidely downmarket like ckbe and resolutely upscale, like Chanel’s Bois Des Iles. Don’t knock it until you’ve sniffed it, is what I always say.

Glad I’m not the only one…I don’t get the grand old lady either. Interesting, I guess, but Mitsouko leaves me cold. Now I think the woody-musky thing is showing up everywhere!

Moschino’s fashion line is called ‘Cheap & Chic’ but in reality, it’s very expensive – so I never got it. I don’t get this either. This packaging is so tacky imo, more ‘cheap’ than ‘chic’ I would say, but it’s probably pricey? So confusing! lol

It looks like a kid’s toy. Wouldn’t be proud to have this on my dresser no matter what it smelled like-well, it would have to smell really good. I would just decant it. But it sounds like to much fruit to me.

never enough peach! YUM! Jil Sander No>4 used Peach so Seductively! UMMM UMMMMM!!! LOVE Peach in any fragrance! i really do and with Lotus Blossom, Cyclamen, Rose and Cedar…. I am floating on one of those pretty clouds on the packaging already. Sounds like it will smell utterly Delightful, have never really smelled a BAD Moschino Fragrance… Wish Jo Malone would do a Peach Scent (I Know, I KNOW…. already did a Nectarine one, but Peach is Different, Something like Peach Coconut or something!!!! OOOOOOHHHH Jo Malone Coconut Vanilla, wouldn’t that be nice!?!?!?!?!)

Jo Malone Coconut Vanilla would be weird though…not like the usual from Jo Malone. You’ve already got Comptoir Sud Pacifique for that sort of thing!

You are right… But think Jo Malone would do a MUCH Better version of Vanille Coconut than Comptoir (not that there is anything at all BAD about Comptoir’s Fragrance, Just Love EVERYTHING Jo Malone!) Perhaps Peach Coconut Jo Malone would be better and Vanilla and Cucumber or Sagemoss might be more Jo Malone… Just thinking aloud here! 😉

I too found Funny wearable, but not purchasable.
“Funny” that a peach conversation came up…I’ve been thinking all week about how perfumes with peach/nectarine/apricot notes give a pleasant ‘human skin’ smell…you know what I mean? A clean, sweet skin smell…
    Am I crazy…

I confess here that I LIKE peach. Except Mitsouko peach.

The KM Peau de Peche was very nice, but after an hour went so quiet on my skin that I had to cram my wrist up my nose to smell anything at all. Probably one of those darn musks I can’t smell. The Jo Malone Nectarine (and The Nose is right, it’s definitely nectarine rather than peach) was pretty sugary, thus canceling out its intended summertime use for me. I’d love to try the MDCI Peche Cardinal, except I keep trying to enforce that rule I made for myself about not testing anything I can’t afford to buy…

So for my peach hit, I went all lowbrow and bought a little bottle of BBW Sparkling Peach for $8. It actually has some very light florals and a light woody musk base, but it’s mostly juicy peach. It’s cheap, and it makes me happy, so how could I ask for more?

There is some common Magritte undercurrent in both Noa Dream and Moschino Light clouds, or am I going too far? The blue clouds are striking different though, compared with previous versions of both Noa and Moschino.
