Can anybody help me with this?—I can’t seem to figure out how to get notification of comments made (or responses to comments) I know I’m techno-ignorant but seems like there was an enable button before….isn’t there one of those anymore?

    and did I mention…..WAHHHHHH!

Daisy, it’s gone (that was mentioned in the “We moved” article. For now, all you can do is subscribe to comments via RSS (see the little link above the comment section, or you can subscribe to all comments for the whole site via RSS.

awwww rats! I’ve tried subscribing to the RSS and tried doing the google reader thing….but it’s no different than just typing NST and clicking enter….so to see what someone has said means scrolling past every single “conversation box” and scanning to see if anyone has commented….is this what everyone is doing? (Or am I just totally out of the know?)

Sorry to be a pest and ask stupid questions, I am extra confused today.

I understand I can go to the button at the top of the comment box to check and see if comments have been added but it’s hard to follow a conversation…ok, I’ll stop whining now. I know it’s all new and still evolving…I think you’re doing a great job though. And it’s really wonderful how patient you are with all of us floundering around the new site. 🙂

Daisy, I know lots of people liked following comments via email, and I really will try to add that back, it’s on my “to do” list. For now, if you subscribe to comments in RSS, at least you see the new ones go by!

Hey, thank you! What is orris by the way?

Iris root. As a note, it’s the same as iris in general, since the root is what is most always used in iris fragrances.

Thank you, I could not transalte orris and was not sure if I can trust the english wikipedia 😉

The size of the fonts are okay! I am extra blind, and I still can read them. But I have a nice computer…
Just did not find out how this gravatar stuff works *blush* but this is typical, nerds cannot get along with the simple stuff…

still offtopic: did you get the trackback to this article?

I answered you about trackbacks on the other post…no, we’re not tracking trackbacks right now. Nobody has ever asked about them but you, & most US fragrance blogs don’t seem to use them. I may do a “requested changes” kind of poll soon, so perhaps you can bring it up then & we’ll see if anyone else is interested.

Just a test comment here. Btw, the site’s text is even tinier than before. I’ve been zooming Internet Explorer to 150% to read it, which isn’t a perfect workaround because it so often makes text run over into graphics. Is there a better way to help my poor overstrained eyes? You all must have microscopic vision, I swear.

The text in the articles should be the same as it was…but I think the comment text is smaller. I will try to tinker with that later in the week, sorry!

Oh, I hope you can use the same type size as Perfume Posse. Almost no eyestrain at all for me there!

White Musk was the first perfume I remember buying. This version sounds lighter and more floral. I’m not sure why they have put ‘tropical’ on the bottle and made it look like a tequila sunrise!

I am guessing this is probably fruitier than they’ve made it sound in the notes? Note that they’re calling it a fruity floral but they didn’t list any fruits…

How popular are Body Shop fragrances nowadays? Still feeling a little bitter over the olfactory assault that was Dewberry…

I have no idea! I thought the Moroccan Rose seemed very well done, esp. for the price, but I didn’t put it on skin & they wouldn’t give me a sample.

Body Shop in our mall is always packed with high school and college girls trying out the perfume oils. I think they’re still pretty popular among that demographic, esp. due to their price. Their perfume oils are only like $15, I think. Their sale prices (and they have frequent sales) are really good. Several times a year, items are 1/2 price, so their oils are around $6 or $7 and their clearance items are usually marked at $2 or $3.

I still like to wear White Musk sometimes in the winter. I found White Musk Intrigue (LE flanker) to be more wearable than the original. Smoother dry-down.

TBS probably does attract a younger crowd than L’Occitane (in my mall, those are the 2 main “smelly” stores), and yes, it’s much cheaper. I used to have lots of the body butters, but haven’t bought one in awhile.

Our mall is particulary smelly, I think In addition to BS and L’Occitane, we also have a Sephora, VS, Aveda, Bleumarine, Crabtree & Evelyn, Lush, and a B&BW. Plus, the fragrance counters at Saks, Nordstrom, Macy’s and Nieman’s, which are the anchor stores to the mall.

        That’s a lotta scents!

Ok, I was SO inaccurate. We also have Crabtree & Evelyn, BBW, VS, Sephora, Aveda, Molton Brown, The Art of Shaving, Bigelow Chemists, etc etc — sadly no Lush — but I guess I was thinking of “single-brand chain stores I make a point of checking out regularly”, which leaves out most of the others.

I don’t know why, but I’ve never ever tried any of TBS perfumes or perfum oils. Only thing I really buy from there are the body butters (which is really great for those with dry skin!) and the tea tree oil stuff.

I do like the bottle though, it’s very colourful! Since they’re offering 20% off for loyalty card holders, I guess it wouldn’t be bad to splurge £8 if I decided it was OK. But I need to learn at some point to stop spending money on scents that are cheap and cheerful, and instead save up for the “good stuff”!

I like the body butters too. But agree…I hate it when I buy something because it’s a bargain, but it turns out to be something I didn’t need or want badly.
