Please note that if you have problems logging in on the right hand sidebar — it appears to accept your login information, but then it doesn’t appear to have logged you in (in other words, the fields go blank and the title above the login widget doesn’t change to “Welcome”), try pressing the login button again without entering anything else. This is a bug and I’m working on it…
And do note that you can't login using your old reader account from the blogharbor site; you need to get a new one. Read more here.
If anyone is having problems other than that, do comment or email me at robin at nstperfume dot com.
MuWAHAHAHA. I have logged in!
Didn’t get it until I saw your Avery Gilbert comment 🙂
Robin, some of the old comments are completely gone. I just looked at your review of Vanille Galante and it shows no comments. Will these eventually reappear, do you want us to let you know when we notice this, or is there nothing you can do about it?
Yes, as I mentioned in the “We’ve moved” post, right now we’re missing around 8000 comments out of around 78,000. I do hope to get them back…but can’t say when except hopefully soon! For now, not much point in telling me where they’re missing.
Oops, I must have skimmed your post. Thanks!
It wouldn’t let me register with my old username so this is my new one. The same but doubly so. LOL!
That’s so odd…somebody took your user name?? If you want, you can go to your profile (link on right sidebar) and set it to display as just “Bela”, but you’re right, it’s doubly so 🙂
WordPress was just slow and I too impatient (it took a *very long time* for the confirmation email to turn up), it seems. It has now decided I’m OK as half that username, so Bela it will be after all.
I don’t know what happened. Not a problem. Love the new site. 🙂
Look, I’m my old self again!
There you go, good.
HA…and love the avatar.
Login and registration was a breeze! Love the new site. Best wishes for your new “home”!
Thanks!
It was a bit of a shock not being able to log in at first. My bad, typical bloke, didn’t read the instructions first.
Hope this is a good move for you Robin, all the best!
HDS
Nobody reads the instructions, LOL…
I don’t wanna be an anonymous figure, how can I change my icon thingy?
All is explained in the “we moved” post…click on “more here” in the article above to get there.
Hahaha —Krok, the first thing I thought was “I bet she picks something FIERCE!” —I’ll be checking back to see your avatar!
Yeehaa! R, I’m loving your (our?) new abode AND I get to keep my old name. Here’s to tons of new readers!
Welcome, Dusan! I thought you already had a gravatar…could swear I’d seen one at a blogger blog…or maybe they have a different system? What a pain to have to get more than one.
Oh, the avatar won’t be long, will change it when I’m at a proper computer (I’m typing this on my cell). And yes, it was my gravatar you saw on Blogger, it took me ages to change that one too. 🙂
How does NST look on your cell? Better, same, worse?
In terms of navigation and comment posting, I would say it seems a bit better. So far, I’ve had no difficulties posting on here whereas the old site (old, ha!) would sometimes eat up my comment and wouldn’t let me post it until, say, my third or fourth try. Design-wise, it’s just as lovely and user-friendly as the old one, with all the links, blogroll and ads appearing below (not above) the post and comment section, so that saves some scrollwork too 😀
All in all, I am mighty pleased 😉
Good!
Hey, looky at these emoticons! 😀
HA … I kind of liked the old fashioned way. Plus, since these are bright yellow, they make it way more clear how much I overuse smiley faces 🙂
Woo-hoo! I made it!
And I love your new “home,” R!
Big hugs to you for your successful move.
Yay, welcome, R!
OK — step two. Let’s see if my modified nickname and avatar show up.
Yay! Now you won’t have to remember, R!
Perfect! You can’t believe how many times I have long comment conversations w/ people before I remember “who they are”, LOL…everybody’s username should have a little explanation in parens (“oh, and X is really NAME, who you know from WHEREVER).
What is your avatar?
It’s reminding me of Marc Chagall
Good call, Krok! It’s a watercolor that he did for a theatre production–I believe it was an initial submission to show them what the sets/costumes would look like.
Hooray! It looks great, Robin. I love that it has the same visual vibe as the old site. I hope the transition’s going smoothly for you.
Could be way worse! It’s always a pain to move, real world or virtual world 😉
Phew – finally made it. Just a tip – my reply to registration email ended up in a spam account.
Yes, I think that’s happened to several people…I did post a warning in the “We moved” post, but everybody skims 🙂
Hi robin
I did have a problem logging in but i made it!!! woo hoo!!!
Hi and welcome, glad you made it!
I do believe I have made it past the buggy hurdle…
Congrats and welcome!
Hi, Robin ! The site looks great, I love it ! Congrats and best wishes for your new home. I love the new layout and the logo, but at the same time I also like the fact that you kept things in the same places, like for instance, the links to the perfume houses and noses at the top and bottom of the page (which I cannot do without), so I can find my way around the site just as easily as before 🙂 That’s a great accomplishment : to move in a new home and feel completely comfortable from day one. That’s how I feel 🙂 Great job !
Good, glad it’s all intuitive! And glad to see all the familiar faces 🙂
Nice to join you all here on this brand spanking new site! Here’s to more olfactory journeys and adventures!
Thanks Santemon!
Hi, it’s me again, this time logging in with a different account as the one I initially used didn’t seem to have the gravatar option (that or I’ll grasp wordpress intricacies when hell freezes over). Anyway, I just wanted to let you know this is the same stupid Dusan, only now he’s looking dashing in his gravatar 🙂
The other one was pretty dashing too, just in a different way 😉
Hey! Fancy new digs. I like the look of it. Congrats!!!
Good, glad you like it!
I had the same trouble logging in with my previous username as Oana therefore I created a new new one with a dot 🙂 The new website looks good. Hope you will manage to retrieve all the comments 🙂
Do you want me to try to create you an account under “Oana” — I’d be happy to?
Robin, if one day you will have some time and wont take too much time of yours, I will be glad to be without a “dot” 🙂 But its not as important now and I am glad that nowsmellthis is back on track 🙂 I guess you have plenty of work to do!
Aw, we get to have our personal pictures as well?!?! I look forward to setting myself up with a cool picture. And I love how the threads are all grouped together in boxes. Robin, this was well worth all the effort you have put in. xx
Glad you like the way the comments work 🙂
Just registered here, everything went well – but where in the heck do I get an avatar?
Hi & welcome! Go to gravatar.com to get your gravatar.
Hi Angela,
I had problelms logging in yesterday as well. After getting the third password, it finally let me in (after which I changed to my own password). I think that I even was successful at obtaining a Gravatar…(I will see if it worked after I post this comment.) The new site is awesome. Congratulations! You hard work paid off.
The new place looks great – same easy to use format, but somehow it has a “cleaner” look about it. I’ll bet that you’re glad that the move is over!
Cynthia, I’ll be really glad in a few weeks when everything that is currently broken is fixed — for me, it isn’t quite yet over, LOL…
Really glad you like the look! More “white space” makes a real difference.
Just reading the perfume shopping in London section. A great selection, very very well researched but just one point, the section named Outer London should perhaps be re-named because all of those stores are definitely IN London, just not in the Centre of town. All have London postcodes. How about Rest of London? Outer London to me means rest of England 🙂 Thanks
Will look into it, thanks!
