Is that Sophie Dahl in the Ghost ad, I wonder?

With the same designer and pepper in the top notes…I wonder if the Pure Black will have any similarities to Le Labo Poivre 23….wouldn't that be cool?

Uh, what is she looking at? The model looks dazed and confused.

MD is harder to find in the US than Le Labo, so probably wouldn't do me any good :-)

    Yay I got a thanks :)
Sniffed the Ghost yesterday. Completely in Ghost territory, soft quiet floral. Pleasant enough.

I've been oblivious to Mandarina Duck before now, but I love that design and now that I've checked their site, I want one of their bags, too. Maybe I just love the name or something. And I'd be curious to smell the fragrance too, but I'll probably forget about it within a week.

They do really nice packaging. Never tried any of the scents though…

ah well….just another thing to cross off my list….with so many things that ARE available to sniff or BUY, I have decided to not bother with tracking down elusive/exclusive perfumes. If perfume houses are satisfied with a teeny slice of the consumer pie then who am I to deprive them of that? And they shall not deprive me of my perfume $$$. (so I have said; so let it be done!)

Hmmm, I wonder what 'powdery dream' can be?

It is what gives Sophie Dahl that look of being under hypnosis in the ad.

Their original Mandarina Duck for women is the one I've tried – it is really a Mandarina Duck, smells like tangy, bitter tangerines and is very frisky:))

I've tried both the Mandarina Duck originals. For woman and men.

Although they do smell “tangy” to me, and not offensive, they are IMHO quite bland. What came to my mind when I smelled them was: this is a poor man's “Happy” (Clinique).

I originally tried them in Barcelona in 07, and a year later they appeared here in Argentina at reeeaaally cheap prices (specially compared to the regular price in euros)

I am intrigued by the new one though… I'll guess it will be a year til it is available here :-)

You know, I entirely forgot that Dillards carries it. Doesn't help me, but might help someone else.

Interesting, didn't know it was a cheap line — assumed it would be the opposite.

LOL! I assume it's some sort of musk. Love that they called it “powdery dream” — I really ought to be keeping a list of funny notes.

The Mandarina Duck scent sounds mostly good (I don't think I like tiare…)
    and the packaging is cute

Oh dear, the Ghost sounds kinda scary – why oh why can't they just have mercy on me and bring back Deepest Night with its mango note and jungle feel and let me be happy!? But NO, they keep putting out these frilly flankers….

Check it out: here in “Mercadolibre” the ebay branch of Argentina…

    http://articulo.mercadolibre.com.ar/MLA-41377380-perfumes-importados-mandarina-duck-hombre-x100ml–_JM

at current prices it is 34 USD (it takes 3,65 pesos to buy 1 dollar)

    And it's the 100ml size!!

You know, originally they were only in the US at some high end store (can't remember which, maybe Barneys? or Bendels? or I'm dreaming?) so I thought it was a luxe line. But looking at the prices at Dillards now, they're actually pretty reasonable. Not as cheap as that though — $78 for 100 ml here.
