US researchers deployed a laboratory version of a male sea lamprey pheromone to trick ovulating females into swimming upstream into traps.
The sea lamprey, sometimes dubbed the "vampire fish", has parasitised native species of the Great Lakes since its accidental introduction in the 1800s.
[...] This is thought to be the first time that pheromones have been shown to be the basis of a possible way of controlling animal pests other than insects.

Well, Man caused the problem and since we are the stewards of our home, we should clean it up. As a wildlife officer, I have reservations of messing with mother nature's balance at all. I hope they have done estensive testing on the effect on other endemic species. worrry worry worry.
I think all us girls have all been victumes of an a-holes pheromones, and I am sure bitchy women give off some to hen-pecked guys.
Boy, have I been attracted! I hope they develop a pheromone perfume to repel the creeps I invariably fall for. Le Vaccination Pour La Jerk. And for the guys, Le Bitchbegone.
hope and hope,
Becca
