Swiss luxury jewelry and watch brand Charriol has launched a new line of perfumes, with two scents for women and one for men.
Charriol Pour Femme Eau de Parfum (shown above left) is an oriental woody gourmand developed by perfumer Guillaume Flavigny. The notes include juniper berry, orange blossom, mango, incense, frangipani, vanilla orchid, amber, tonka bean, woods and patchouli. The bottle features a crystal-studded ring around the neck that can be removed and worn on a finger. Available in 30, 50 and 100 ml.
Charriol Pour Femme Eau de Toilette is a fruity floral developed by perfumer Philippe Bousseton, and features notes of bergamot, passion fruit, carambola, freesia, jasmine, datura, teak wood, vetiver and sweet musk. Available in 30, 50 and 100 ml.
Charriol Pour Homme (shown above right) is an oriental fougère developed by perfumer Dominique Ropion. The fragrance notes include velvet pear, lemon, green leafy accord, freshly cut grass, violet leaf, watery rose, marigold, lavender, cedarwood, amber and musk. Available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Toilette.
The Charriol fragrances are available now in Asian and the Middle East, and will debut in the US next year. (via finefragrances.com.au, additional information via cosmeticnews)
I can't help it: whenever I see the word “watery” in the description of a scent's notes, I wince. I always think of the connotations the word has in food: it's never good. “Watery rose” doesn't sound very nice, either.
Still, they show some promise, and those bottles are really appealing. And I'm surprised and impressed that the EDT and EDP of the women's line are different scents and not just versions of one another. (It reminds me of the original Must de Cartier: there was a perfume and an EDT, two completely different scents which you could layer if you liked. It doesn't sound like the two Charriol scents should be layered, mind you.)
Watery Rose And Freshly Cut Grass, oh please spare us.
I was wondering if they used “watery rose” so men wouldn't think it was “too floral”?? Or they meant rosewater, who knows.
Pretty sure these are different scents because the EdT is geared towards Asia, EdP towards Middle East. Those are apparently their 2 biggest markets.
Oh, but I love “fresh cut grass” notes in fragrance!
My Husband is back to Dubai in January, I'll see if he can barter a sample in the mall. I wonder if the ring is worth the perfume? Is it normal for an EDP and an EDT to be completely different and with different designers?
I like cut grass too, but I agree with the boo to “water” scents. It's nice to know men wash but I think they need something more manly and less watered down fruit.
Yes, that's pretty unusual. Again, I think it's because they're geared towards different markets.
C'EST MAGNIFIQUE! These Sounds Simply Stunning! The EDP sounds Like Pure Pleasure, Vanilla Orchid, Juniper, FRANGIPANI, and Amber! WOW! Love The bottle and the Fragrance. The EDT (does it come in the same kind of Bottle????) sounds Fun and Delicious also! The Men's I am DYING FOR! Sounds Utterly Sinful! I must smell!!
The EdT bottle is about the same, but w/o the ring.
